One of the most beautiful spots just past Gordon's Bay. A bit of a climb down to the beach so wear sneakers rather than flip-flops. Quite secluded and not overcrowded. There are lifeguards on the beach and a shark spotter hut on the main road. The caves are visible from the beach but the main, huge cave is further along the beach and somewhat hidden behind some rocks. If you are going for the main cave, ensure you are there when the tide is out, otherwise it's not accessible.

Where my ashes will be strewn some day... As a Gordon's Bay resident I grew up frequenting this beach since age 5... thats 41 years of having a church or a Godly place right in my backyard. Surrounded by towering high mountain slopes and cliff faces the long white sandy beaches are perfect for a romantic sunset walk... NOT picnic!!! Unfortunately the locals are scavengers... yes, the baboons are of great concern and will not hesitate opening car doors, or staring you down in approach to take your cooler box or hand bag in search of treats. The waters of this majestic bay is of the cleanest and warmest in the cape, but please take care to swim where the lifeguards are as the currents here are strong and claim lives every year. Those same strong currents sometimes, seldom but if you know when, make for nice ridable waves from time to time. The infamous Caves are the waves mostly desried by experienced high performance surfers, as it breaks into ankle deep sand and necks have been broken here. You will not be sorry after a visit to this national Biosphere Reserve and the very basic (not well maintaned) camping grounds just off the beach will make any happy camper wantbto come back again and again if the baboons don't ruin your stay...

Nice beach walk, waters quite rough though. Wouldn't recommend for swimming unless your a strong swimmer. Short walk from the parking to the beach.

If you love camping and nature and the ocean, you'll love camping here. The bathroom situation is terrible but but at least you can take a warm shower at times. Waking up to the sound of the crashing waves is heaven. Remember to bring a generator as there's no electricity.

We enjoyed the stay. The scenary is just priceless and amazing to watch the sunset, clear skies at night riddle with beautiful stars and the sound of the ocean. It just sets a very calm environment. Few point the Security management of the site need to take note of. The rules is not obeyed or enforced by the security comoany which was a huge problem for us. They says no alcohol allowed yet its not enforced by the people or security. They mentioned no one is allowed onto the site after 23h00 yet the security allowed people in at 01h00 the morning with alcohol and later they played load music the entire night. No security enforcing the rules at the time. We stood up and complained about it on two occasions. If it was not for the above I would rate the stay a 4. Note no electricity points and no hot water so he prepared. But is all part of the fun and it made a camper out of my wife as well. Enjoy Rgds Z

Fantastic location, right on the beach. The campsites are nicely spaced so with fire places. The ablutions were a bit unkept with lots of leaves and sand in the floor, though since I was the first visitor in a month I guess it's understandable. It can get busy over weekends during summer as it offers good shelter from the south east wind. A great stop of you are doing a van/camping trip down the coast.

With a short walk downhill to a beautiful big open beach it is definitely a must visit. But.... be careful as there is no safe parking! Our car got broken into at this parking, so be warned! It is dog friendly.

What an epic drive back from Hermanus to Cape Town on the Whale Coast Route. This is an absolute must. The views, the most stunning ocean, lots of viewing points and a coastline that is so natural yet so inspiring.

One of the best Beaches in the False Bay area.It is normally uncrowded but the sea can be wild at times...but the views create a dramatic and unforgettable experience.A must see if you are a tourist to Cape Town.

The beach here is epic. Make sure you visit at low tide so that you can walk to the cave, see how deep you can go. Lots of fun! Also a popular surf spot, just stay safe and surf with a group of friends. The road leading up to Kogel Bay is one of the most beautiful coastal roads I have ever experienced driving along.

Went there today and the police chased everyone away. Police said the beach s closed because of dangerous area after flooding. There was no notice or sign informing the public of the so-called danger. From what I could see the beach was pristine and no reason for all the fuss.

(Translated by Google) A stunning beach beneath a beautiful road where you can safely leave your car. The beach is great for swimming, the bay is warmer water. The sunsets from here were unique! (Original) Úžasná pláž pod nádhernou silnicí, kde se dá bez problémů nechat auto. Pláž je skvělá na koupání, v zálivu je teplejší voda. Západy slunce odsud byli jedinečné!

With breathtaking views like nowhere else, this beach is a must-visit! Gorgeous mountain ranges, stunning views over the ocean and a picture perfect beach is what you can expect when having your picnic here. The drive is unforgettable as Clarence Drive offers unique views that will make you want to stop every so often to enjoy the view.

The place is beautiful, it's great for camping or day visits. It's a good place for the whole family. It is safe, as there are security guards. There are braai facilities available as well as rest rooms.

Best sea view anyone can ask for but unfortunately that is where the positive side ends. Only half of the camp area are maintained. Toilet and shower facilities are practically non existent and not kept clean. Overall view of the camp area is looking run down.

Excellent family and surf beach. Amazing beach, clean water and friendly people. Lifeguards on duty at most times (might only be weekends - not sure). Well worth the views and the water temp as it’s hot enough to stay in all day.

Beautiful and well capt after. It is a lot of admin to get a booking and to communicate with them. The resort is owned by the municipality which complicates the bookings extremely. The is also a lot of baboons that WILL steal whatever is unattended. But they are not very aggressive.

Million dollar view. Choose the camping spots at the complete end. Numbers 20 and 21. Dont leave food lying open, the baboons are sneaky.
