Do not buy any meat from Gateway Spar. If the meat is rotten Mr Johan Klopper refuse to exchange or give money back. He screamed at me like a maniac in front of his staff and clients. Even the owner were contacted by me. He does not even bother to reply to me. Mouse droppings in the shelves Meat must be eaten within 3 days according to Mr Klopper. So no meat from Gateway Spar can be freezed to eat 2 weeks later. Maybe their meat is frozen already for 6 month's thats why you cannot freeze it at all

I bought a pie and a sausage roll with cheese both were old ,threw both away drove back to cpt hungary,but the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Shelves were empty, must have been the Black Friday a day or so before, more expensive but the only supermarket open on Saturday afternoon this side of Hermanus.

Seems as though the customers rule the show in the shop and, more specifically, the liquor store. Usually, it is chaotic feel and most often so crowded that you would rather just leave. Some cuatomers have, on more than one occasion, made a scene or acted inappropriately while we were there. It was not a very pleasant shopping experience.

We walk through Spar. The staff was very helpful, the shop was clean. The products was fresh.

It's alright. But honestly the OK Foods is better in every way.

Went quickly 10 minutes before closing time but they were already closed, despite the sign on the door stating otherwise 😡👎

Just when it's busy there is a few tills open and when not so busy a lot of the tills is oprn

Just came out of spar now and I must say the lady working at the kiosk woke up at the wrong side of the bed,I was trying to send money via mkuru but the way she was responding at me I had to cancel the order I'm spending my money and I don't have to feel as if I'm asking for a favour,at least the cashiers at OK are friendly and eager to help,Disappointed

Got what I needed, more tills could stay open especially when busy. But otherwise great shop.

Lovely Gateway. Quiet a few shop's to shop at. Public toilet clean and neat..Lovely koi fish 🐟 pond..

Tellers/Cashiers are always friendly. Staff that works where you order cake are unfriendly and make you wait very long.

Lots of stuff that I don't agree with, but I still buy all my stuff there. They are the cheapest and I know where everything is

Tellers are morose, more interested in chatting to other staff than the customer. No sense of customer respect or awe

Bit of a weird supermarket. Good veg section, but damn..their meat looks nasty. Lighting is odd as well, so you feel strange walking about in there.. I dunno, is it just me?

All in all my experience of Gateway Spar is good with mostly friendly and helpful staff. The last few months I have experienced a lot of problems though with specials clearly marked as a special on the shelf, but when checking my slip afterwards, NO special reflects on my slip and I have to go back, using my own time to let them sort out the problem. Nowadays I check the items on special directly at the till and it happened more than once that the special does not go through as a special. Today I again had an issue! This time I did not receive the R2 rewards on my card on Liquifruit as advertised. Only R2, but it is the principle that counts. This kind of problem happens at least once a week or once every other week. How many clients do not check their slips at the till? Spar wins all the way making a lot of money on specials their clients actually do not receive. Unacceptable!! People, check your slips! Another thing...it's very unprofessional for a floor manager to address you as "Tannie". It happened today. The professional way to address a client is "Sir/Madam/Dame/Mevrou, etc.

A really well stocked grocery store. Not my favourite. The cashiers is just not up to the OK’s 30m away standards. But they do stock a lot more variety! If you need odd ingredients. They will be more likely to have them

It's central, and has a great variety of fresh veg which I love. You just have to make sure you go on a day when they not busy, otherwise it's a mad house. They always have stock.

Good Service and food was good but the outside of the restaurant was VERY NOISY!!!!

My sincere gratitude goes to this place's management and the staff that prepares the delicious and ever fresh food daily and their excellent service. They are kind, patient and loving. This store is my go to place whenever I need food for me and my kids as I'm still sorting out accommodation and have nowhere to cook but we always have a healthy and warm meal every every evening. Thank you very much Spar gateway.

Went to Quirk and Leopard bookshop outstanding. The centre is lovely lots parking, shops all good.

Staff always gossips about the people when they at the tills. Its so uncomfortable

Spar is my go to shop. Just pity some of the staff members don't know how to smile and great their customers.. sad to say management can start to invest in courses for their staff how to be friendly -customer service 😠😠😠😭😭😭

Busy very busy, service inside the store and in the Liqour outlet can be improved as it is not up to standard. "Social Chatting Service" is standard practice, not only with customers but to other till operators. But well stocked and sufficent choices.

Just what you would expect from spar, all you groceries.

Shop has a good variety on most basic groceries. Service was just about good but could be better. I was just impressed by the fact that there wasn't long queues, warm take aways were freshly made today, fresh fruits and vegetables. But the parking lot outside is dirty that's an area that needs to be looked at. I give 4 stars

Huge Spar with a huge variety of everything. A lot of space to do your shopping in peace. No chance for traffic jams in the shelves. Fast and friendly service.

I always buy Spar bread because it is fresh and nutritive

Pathetic service. I'm on holiday in Hermanus and this happens. Spent over R1000 of groceries there and the laaitie that thinks he is the owner...behind the lotto counter told me a few times I have to put my mask on while my biff was just under my nose. I understand protocols but he himself when speaking to his colleagues was without a mask. I took a photo but won't post it because of popi. I'm definitely not a child. I'm a client. Super Spar won't see me again if they are going to handle customers like this. I understand protocols but then don't be hypocrites doing exactly the same thing and handling clients like children.

Overall good experience it's also convenient to have a cell phone repair shop on site as well as a laundromat. Service with a smile always parking not too far from the engines as well as all the major banks ATMs nearby... Good job.
