👍👍 This restaurant has been here since the 80s and my family and I used to come here about 10 years ago. I have since moved out of state and I just had to visit on my last trip to California this week. I am so glad I did. The quality is the same! Amazingly fresh fish. Do not come here if you are lookin... People often mention good, sushi, Japanese, great, sake,

This restaurant has been here since the 80s and my family and I used to come here about 10 years ago. I have since moved out of state and I just had to visit on my last trip to California this week. I am so glad I did. The quality is the same! Amazingly fresh fish. Do not come here if you are looking for the "Americanized" Sushi. This is traditional raw fish on rice, known as Nigiri. Don't skimp and order the Aki Special (who is the owner and head sushi chef). The Aki Special is his take on the "dynamite" and way better! Baby shrimp, scallops, crab, and mushrooms baked in Japanese mayo! You're missing out every time you go to another restaurant and not here. Pictured: Salmon Nigiri, Baked Mussels, Aki Special, and the complementary ice cream at the end to help cleanse your palate. Not Pictured: the Nigiri I ate before taking a picture LOL.

Definitely an authentic Japanese joint. Pretty small restaurant, but you get the feel of how it is in Japan. Prices are not the cheapest but quality is pretty good. The chefs make your rolls or sashimis on the spot. Worth trying out.

One of the first Sushi bars in the South Bay. Original owner over 20 years. Japanese chef trained in Japan. Very rare today. Traditional, good quality, great service. Still one of the best in South Bay.

I came last night for the first time under the new ownership. The food was very good! My wife and ordered à la carte. The baked scallop was amazing, garlic edamame had great flavor, agedashi tofu very good, and all of our nigiri was good (I had to get a second round of unagi!) This was my only problem with the meal: I asked for a recommendation for a bottle of sake. I asked for something in the mid price range on the dryer side. Our server asked another server and they asked the chef, then they all informed me that ALL SAKE IS DRY. I must admit this was kind of embarrassing, I’m a white dude and no, I don’t know as much about sake as I would like, but I know that sake like all wine is rated based on a sweet to dry scale. Having 3 people tell me that all sake is dry like my question was totally stupid was a bit humiliating. Ironically after brushing off my embarrassment and picking a random bottle, it wasn’t even very dry lol, and the bottle has a chart on the back showing a sweet to dry scale. Overall great meal, maybe I should I just know more about sake. That just rubbed me the wrong way. I’d go back, but the one star off was for the sake experience.

Now you have a choice of gourmet traditional Èdomaè Sushi or modern Japanese cuisine influenced by streams of world cuisine here in Los Ángeles. Also one of the few Sushi restaurants in the Gardena-Torrance area that is open late till 11pm. New owners, new style. Previous owner Aki∼san retired.

I had an great dining experience at this sushi restaurant. The servers were exceptionally friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home even during a busy period. The food was absolutely delightful, prepared to perfection and bursting with flavors. The servers' expertise shone through s as they guided us through the menu, ensuring we made the best choices. Their dedication to providing excellent service, despite the bustling atmosphere, left a lasting impression on me. I'll definitely be returning. I can keep going with my fiancé needs me. I will be back.

Legitimate Japanese place with a little old lady busting her @$$ serving tables - a real family vibe and fair prices. Not fake!

The food is always good. I have noticed the Japanese patrons get bigger pieces of sushi/sashimi.

One of very few of my classic sushi haunts from years gone by, it did not disappoint; quiet NOT crowded, and they always played jazz!

Very nice place that isn't the hustle and bustle of other sushi places. If you are looking for hip this isn't it. If you are looking for good sushi in a relaxed environment this is it. They are also Dodger fans so the TV has them on when they are playing. Try the soft boned chicken and the miso mackerel on the appetizer menu.

Been coming here since the 90's, Aki "owner chef" is the real deal. He buys the best quality fish and his service is second to none. It's a hidden gem worth keeping and sharing. Taking a date or the family night out it's the spot for any occasion.
