This is a lovely hotel with beautiful gardens. The rooms could do with an update but they are reasonably comfortable and very clean. The food here is absolutely amazing. Everything we ate was delicious. Overall we were extremely happy with our stay and are already planning another visit but next time with friends.

We had afternoon tea, so we can't comment on rooms. The tea/food was amazing. The room is dated in sense of tables and chairs not decor. Would have been lovely to have a nice teapot. Staff friendly and attentive. Definitely would do it again

We've had many High Teas here and never been disappointed. We've also stayed overnight on at least 4 occasions - the rooms were lovely - nice views, clean and very comfortable beds. The Staff from Receptionist to Waitresses are so friendly and helpful. The Lunchtime dinners and the Evening Meals are well worth the price. We've already booked another Lunch.

We recently held a meeting for our family history society in Hartlepool and used Hardwicke Hall Manor Hotel for our base and our Gala Dinner. All our guests agreed that the hotel was perfect, the rooms clean, well equipped and quirky; the breakfasts were lovely and the Gala Dinner was excellent. Most of all we were all delighted with the service we received from all the staff.

Took my wife here for afternoon tea, we didn't stay over, so I can't comment on the rooms. It was nice apart from not proper clotted cream for the scones (got to have Roddas on scones), and no sponge cake in the trifles. The sandwiches were nice, proper fillings (beef, chicken mayo, cheese savoury, and cucumber, in a mix of white and wholemeal bread with crust cut off), not your egg and cress some places use. Bigger, or more sandwiches would have been better. Tea was nice, and asked for another pot of tea, and got one. It was ok for the price we paid on Groupon, but at the full price, I'd expect bigger portions (sandwiches, and better/more cakes).

What a fabulous place. 6 of us went for lunch and the food, service and ambience was 5*. Highly recommended. We're going to book for afternoon tea next.

Afternoon Tea, nice selection of sandwiches, scones with cream and jam, lemon cake, profiteroles, meringue. Nice warm scone. Sandwiches a bit warm, it was a hot day but felt like they’d been out the fridge a bit anyway. Nice that we could substitute tea/coffee for a cold drink so we had coca cola. Decor outdated but some may appreciate that style. Got a good groupon offer, would come again on the offer.

What a wonderful stay again. Restaurant deserves a shout out. Absolutely lovely meals. Attention to detail. Clean restaurant with lovely clean cutlery and crockery. Great service. I absolutely love coming here. Service is always excellent. Owners engage very well and are always so accommodating. I recommend this facility for excellent dining, excellent breakfast and I have always had a lovely stay with accommodation. Please accept that this is an old building with wonky walls and wonky floors and wonky everything but it is the perfect ambience and so far away from the big corporate standard syndrome. If you want to enjoy an experience then enjoy your stay here with no pretence and lovely service.!!!! I would come back here in a heart beat time and time again. Thank you Hardwick Hall Manor you are “Simply The Best”.

Called in for an early dinner via Groupon. The nice thing about the way Hardwicke Hall do this is you can have anything off the menu and just pay a supplement - keeps your options open. The vegetables are plentiful and even pork loin comes as a double portion. Service is professional but very friendly. The setting is really nice and the real fire in the entrance makes it very inviting - though it would be nicer still in the dining room. Have been many times before and no doubt will be back again.

We've just married at Hardwicke hall manor 22.07.2023. Alan his daughter and all the staff went above and beyond to make our day perfect. From the moment we walked through the door to the moment we left. The food was out standing! not just the food on the day, the breakfast and evening meals too. We couldn't have pick I better Venu. We are looking forward to saying on our first anniversary.

This hotel is in a fantastic location with really friendly staff and a good selection of food and drinks. A real old world hotel with lots of character. The rooms are large and offers tea coffee and hot chocolate. The downside is the room unfortunately. The bed made up of 2 single beds was not comfortable at all and was actually broken in half (no joke), I am sure the hotel is aware of this as someone had done a temporary repair and put a wooden pole across it to support the mattress. The mattress was OK but the divan bed was in a really sorry state. Also if you are after a decent shower double check as the pressure in the shower was really poor and not what I expected. The beer lines may need to be cleaned as the 1st pint had a lot of lime scale floating at the bottom of it and returned. The 2nd pint was in a similar situation with white bits floating at the bottom so neither pint could be finished unfortunately.

Stayed for 2 nights whilst house hunting in Hartlepool. We stayed in room 9 which had enormous double bed and 2 single beds a sofa and a TV! Really comfortable. The food was lovely too breakfast and dinner. I think we'd stay again despite it being a little bit further out from Hartlepool than we thought.

Had a lovely afternoon tea there today. Would have been nice with some pastries too like a sausage roll. I had no experience of the rooms so couldn't rate honestly. Situated in beautiful grounds it's lovely for weddings and sitting outside in the summer for a champagne. Marked service down 1 as people serving looked a bit sick of their days. Maybe it had been a long one. Overall a fab, oldie hotel well worth an afternoon tea.

Stayed here for a weekend whilst visiting family. The building itself is lovely, but could use some updating, especially the rooms! The bed wasnt all that comfortable as the mattress was quite lumpy and hard in places, adding extra pillows didn't do much for our necks & at one point we had to unplug our phone charger as the plug socket was crackling! We had breakfast on both mornings - I'd suggest going down early to avoid cold toast and potentially not the freshest sausage and bacon! It was much nicer the second time round where we'd gone down early! Generally the staff were friendly and helpful, but this wasn't always the case - especially at check-in late Friday night!

Booked for sunday lunch having previously been for afternoon tea a few months ago. It did not disappoint, great choice of menu, speedy attentive service and the food was delicious. I am a fussy eater and I enjoyed every course I had, which is a real accolade to the hotel. We will definitely be back!

The perfect antidote to bland, corporate hotels. Booked this for a one night stay as the location was ideal for visiting relatives in the area. Initial impressions: We'll tended gardens and pleasant looking main building. Lots of car parking. Interior decor a bit hit and miss, faded in places but this is an historic property - if you want bland book a Premier Inn instead. Rooms individually decorated, again some better than others but everything is clean, there lots of hot water and the bed's comfortable. Staff - brilliant throughout. This is one of the best aspects of the hotel. All staff from start to finish were helpful, friendly and chatty Food - excellent quality dinner. Good value too. Brilliant breakfast, freshly cooke, piping hot and quick. Drinks - again a good selection of well proved drinks including decent ale. Overall, well worth the 5 stars for the excellent staff and food, combined with a comfortable, clean room. Would we stay again? Definitely. It's a refreshing change from the blandness of Premier Inn type hotels and all the better for it.

Overall cleanliness poor, dust, dirty curtains, shower, toilet. Pressure on bath and shower very weak. Whole hotel needs deep clean. Bedroom is used as a fire escape for other guests. Pictures on website very deceiving as grounds aren't that big and very strong smell from either drains or neighbouring fields. Only chance to have a drink was from the bar outside. Food really nice however served within a room that felt very much like a community centre.

I stayed here on a last minute trip, the room was £88 for the night this included breakfast for 2 adults. This could be a great place, but it's tired, could do with a paint and what's with playing music outside till 10.30pm. I do feel Hardwicke hall could have so much more to offer, a room near the bar has wooden panelling, and looked great, apart from that it was ok

An absolutely superb place to stay. The bridal suite is very comfortable with an art deco theme and nicely situated on the corner of the Hotel so you look out on the lawn and woodlands. The staff are impeccable, polite and very helpful. The food is also top drawer and hot food is always served on a hot plate, which is high on my list of priorities. The bar and snug area is very cosy for pre dinner cocktails and a quiet chat. If you are in the area don't bother booking anywhere else. Overall 10 out of 10.

Had a wonderful day yesterday at Day 1 of The Decades Garden Party at Hardwicke Hall Manor Hotel. The entertainment started at 2.00 through to 9.00 and was absolutely outstanding a seamless stream of top quality acts. Hats off to for Hardwicke Hall's amazing staff and Management who pulled out all the stops to make this such a memorable day. Thanks so much to you all. Would have loved to have done it again but sadly for me today (Sunday) was a sell out. Hope they all had as much fun today as we certainly had yesterday. Moral of this is to book earlier if hopefully this event is on again next year.

Arrived for afternoon tea. Staff very friendly and all were wearing masks. 10/10. Tea consisted of a selection of finger sandwiches, scones with jam and cream and various cakes and trifle. Either tea or coffee. Prosciutto was available for an extra charge. Staff attentive but not intrusive. Highly recommended.

We had our wedding reception at the hotel a few month ago. Alan and his team made our day truly perfect! All our guests loved the hotel. The food was amazing and everything ran smoothly! Plus the grounds of the hotel are stunning! Many thanks for making our day so special, Louise and Anthony McCaffery.

Visit for afternoon tea. Lovely staff. Venue was clean. The food was very nice. My only downside was probably that they sat me in the window and it was too hot a day to be sat there. It was like being in a greenhouse. I'm sure staff would have been happy enough to move us but I didn't want to cause a huge fuss. It may be that they didn't expect it to be such a warm day.

Went for afternoon tea. The service during tea was excellent. The tea itself was very good, only improvement suggestion would be a little more savoury selection. The car park is part car lot so space is limited and the surface is potholed gravel...my partner is currently in a wheel chair so had to drop her at the front in the rain while I parked the car...far from ideal. All in all a pleasurable day out, a very enjoyable tea and the deal from Groupon at £16.50 was excellent value.

Lovely location with surrounding gardens and patio. Four of us stayed there and we all had the evening meal which was delicious, with good size portions. Breakfast was also delicious with plenty of choice. The cooked english breakfast was outstanding, they try to use local produce where they can and you can certainly tell that it's all fresh. The service was excellent with very friendly professional staff. The rooms are all individually decorated and extremely clean. The bed was very comfy. Sadly we stayed there to attend a funeral and we were very pleased that the hotel was very quiet which helped us to get the much needed sleep we wanted. We will be back to stay in happy times for sure.
