Usually stay here when visiting the lakes as the family rooms are affordable and accommodation is pet friendly. Service is somewhat odd. Today (Thursday 10th August, 9 pm), I went to the front desk for some towels but before I could ask the girl told me to wait and she proceeded to take a personal phone call, she then hid in the side room and closed the door. I waited a while. She then came out and I politely asked for 4 towels. She said they should be in the room. I said we don't have enough (4) for all of the occupants. She then said she can give 2 towels. I repeated, there is 4 of us. She said they normally give only 2. I asked if we are supposed to share. She then said she will give 3 and they don't usually give 4. She said they should be in the room. I said they are used. How odd?! Very stingy on towels provision. She gave me a look that I was making an usual request!

Great find; we booked a one night stay as part of a trip around the area and it was a perfect stopover. They were able to swap our room for a ground floor when we checked in (husband has mobility problems) and were really friendly and helpful. Room was spotless and bed and linen really comfy. Lots of room to move around in the main room and ensuite. Would definitely recommend. There's also a little shop/petrol station next door which has a good selection of snacks, hot and cold drinks and a microwave to heat snacks plus a water fountain to refill your water bottles!

The people were friendly but our room absolutely stank. I politely went and told one of the staff who was very apologetic and said that it was an issue a few others had complained about so they would give us a voucher for the cost of the room. She said she couldn't but the manager who was out would credit it to our account when they were back. She showed me where to find this and we went off. This has never appeared in my account and despite numerous attempts to get in touch, I've always been fobbed off. There are never any advisors available online and frankly, I would never stay in a travelodge again now.

Very basic. The carpet of my room very stained. Someone else's shower gel on the tiles and makeup on the soap dispenser. No bar or cafe downstairs. Bed was comfy and clean, only a few mile outside kendal but wouldn't return, lovely downstairs seating area with no access to even tea or coffee down there.

No fuss usual travelodge standard, note that parking is now extra. Due to its location on a dual carriageway it really needs to have some road side signage as the hotel is hidden and it is all too easy to drive past, then you have quite a detour to get back to it.

Good clean & well maintained. We had a problem at check in, with no staff & a sign giving a phone number if no one there. The number given was Unobtainable!! Was about to give up & drive away when staff showed up. Otherwise, check in was then seamless. Room was clean with no issues. Biggest problem is location being on one side of a dual carriage way. So be careful to consider your approach to the hotel. We tried to turn at a nearby junction on a pitch black winter night. Dont do it !! Go a couple of miles further to a roundabout. There is a nominal car park charge but get staff to show you how to get the hotel rate on the machine. A fuel garage is next door with a general store & a Costa coffee machine otherwise nothing else seen in walking distance (so why a car park fee?)

Used this as our overnight stop prior to a week in the Lakes. Despite being close to a very busy main road, itโ€™s very peaceful. Not so keen on having to pay to use the car park, this was not in force the last time we visited. Itโ€™s not a huge amount, but I did find it a bit mean! Thereโ€™s nowhere else to park.

BE AWARE. PARKING CHARGES APPLY!!! Rooms are exactly what you expect from a travellodge. Staff are mostly away from the service desk. Clean and comfortable. Great location to vist south lakes

I was on a work related course nearby and my stay there was made comfortable by the approachable friendly and efficient staff (nothing was to much of a bother with any enquiries I had, helpful and polite) and with good local knowledge of the area and local facilities. The cleanliness of the room was to a good standard and having the space, peaceful freedom to study what was difficult course material for a exam later on the course. Thank to all the staff for a pleasant stay. A comfortable and relaxing stay.

Good option for a basecamp in the Lake District. Clean rooms, friendly staff. Very good value. Rooms at the rear overlook a farmer's field, so it's a very rural feel. Shell garage and basic shop next door.

We broke down on A591 in poor weather. Luckily we had assistance which turned up quickly but repair would take 90 mins so we headed to Travel Lodge where the staff couldnโ€™t be more helpful. Many thanks

I stayed here a little over a week ago for a couple of nights. I found the location to be perfect for my needs, with only a 7mins drive into nearby Kendal, and a further 20mins into Windermere, Ambleside and Grasmere. The young girl behind the desk was polite, friendly and helpful, and assisted me with locations and advice when I asked ๐Ÿ˜Š The room was more than sufficient, though the carpet was stained in places. It didn't detract from my experience of the stay, as the stains were quite old, but maybe they could spend a bit of money cleaning it better. I'm more than happy to use this place again, as it's close enough to the major towns and the M6, but far enough away from tourists and noise ๐Ÿ˜Š

The staff was certainly accomodating and the hotel was clean and we could not fault it. It was a perfect place to stop and travel around the lake District highly recommended.

On a very busy dual carriageway no sign post to show you are approaching it and when you miss it it's a drive down to roundabout then back up again then to next roundabout and back down again. Clean and good value for 1 night stop.

This is a simple Travelodge next to a petrol station. The staff were friendly and helpful and the accessible room on the ground floor was clean and comfortable. When we accidentally pulled the red cord in the bathroom a member of staff came straight away to check we were ok. I thought this was excellent.

A great little hotel in the middle of nowhere for the amount of money we paid for the room it served its purpose. Didn't have much interaction with staff however there wasn't anyone there when we arrived and waited for a while for the receptionist to arrive.

Average. No value for money. Feeling of being cheated. Owner should use intellect for happiness of guest. Money wl come of its own

Wasn't expecting ยฃ3 charge for parking. Room was a bit dated but perfectly clean and everything was in working order. Bed was comfortable. No noise. No air conditioning but large fan provided in room. Room had view out onto sheep fields, which was nice. Location wouldn't be great for Kendal if you didn't have a car. Fine for a reasonably priced room near the Lake District if you have a car.

Quite simple hotel but very comfy, quiet, clean and price worthy. It's close to the highway but once inside you can't hear it. Parking 3ยฃ a day.

Located just outside Kendal on the A591, it was surprisingly quiet, considering it was a busy road. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The first impressions were the additional parking charge of ยฃ3 per 24 hours, which I didn't see mentioned when I booked it. Secondly, the bathroom seemed very cramped. The beds were not the best, which we were surprised by, because they're normally so comfy. Also, the door leading from the reception to the main corridor was very loud every time it closed behind someone and there seemed to be folks coming and going all night, very annoying. Finally, the TV (I know, trivial) had a very, very limited number of channels, I mean, it was like being back in the 80s.

Room was fine although it was hot with no temperature controls, the main problem is it's extremely noisy if you are on the side closest to the road. The windows are so poor they do very little to stop the car noise.

We were not made aware of additional car parking fees on booking out stay, nor on arrival (which was late at night as we had trouble finding the hotel and drove past several times). When we checked out (again in the early hours of the morning in the dark) we were not made aware that we needed to pay for the parking at this hotel. As we booked over the phone we were not aware that this lodge does not own the car park and as a result we have incurred a parking fine. I would not recommend this hotel if you have a car as I am sure we are not the first to be caught out.

This is one of the better Travelodge I've stayed in. Sue upon reception was so friendly and greeted us amazingly, with a warm smile and made sure everything was in order for us, she even gave our doggy some treats! Rooms were clean and tidy and the views were lovely. Sue really made our stay and she deserves recognition for being such a credit to Travelodge.

Decent enough place to stay if visiting the lake district. Only visited the area for a couple of days in the summer though (peak season it seems) so parking was an issue in the national park and I do feel like staying this far away really limited what we could do in such a short and busy time. However, you get a decent amount for what you pay for. The drawbacks are however the towels (not very many at all are provided and no bath mat), the shower and bath aren't the best, no plugs by the bed, no clock in the room etc. The hotel was also dated and smelled of an insipid bleach, not to mention spiders being EVERYWHERE. Staying by the motorway was however remarkably quiet and the views of the scenery were quite nice. Would stay again if I had to as price is good, but would definitely prefer to find somewhere a little nicer and more upmarket if possible.

Great place to stop and stay for the night. Friendly staff, clean rooms, comfy beds, can't ask for more for the price. Check out time is 12 o'clock which is excellent for a long lie.

Beautiful area and staff were friendly but something needs to change with the bleach cleaning ! When we arrived ( family with 2 small kids) the bathroom has just been freshly cleaned! We had to โ€œevacuateโ€œ for several hours as we started to feel sick especially kids because of chlorine gas. Bathroom fun extractor not working and all the gas went to the room and our lungs / body! Another room was not provided as they said has the same issue with bleaching and no refund was issued after 7 days as promised! Even if we receive the refund I would not change my feedback as the hotel needs to change the cleaning process or allow plenty of time to ventilate room before they accommodate anyone!

Scores are relative to Travelodge in general, I'm not comparing this with a four or five star venue here. The rooms are spacious in the category, clean, the place is easy to use and seems to have good staff. It is on a dual carriageway however, so aside from the standard Travelodge fare of being pretty basic, not having bedside sockets etc, it also has the road noise on one side and you can only get in going one direction. There's also not much right nearby, you aren't doing anything from here without a car.

Great location, although it's on a main road the room was quiet. The room was a standard travelogue room, spotless and clean throughout. The staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble and they were always smiling. Eve, Ashley and Paige made the stay so enjoyable and always happy to help, they are a credit to the place
