Such a sad place to be these days. The lower ground naked area is now almost completely empty, and there is simply no atmosphere anywhere else

Empty shops, very tired now! Elsewhere in Silver Street and the town's High Street there are plenty of other examples of empty shops and retail space, some of them having been unoccupied for sometime. The old town is full or charity shops and barbers, how inspiring lol!

There are so few shops open here now, yet it would be a nice indoor shopping centre if it had more shops. Whoever owns or manages this centre clearly has no idea what they are doing. Lower rents maybe, get more businesses moving in and generate some activity and interest. Gives the impression its being run into the ground deliberately so it can be redeveloped??

A fair number of units in the centre are empty. Stores available are a barbers, butchers and not much else (greengrocers is now in The Shires, outside Iceland). Lower level is open with a variety of shops and stalls - computer repair shop, industrial clothing, haberdashers, plus a cafe. It's normally always quiet in the centre. It’s a shame it’s lost Wilko, Mainlys and Shaws.

This area is looking really sad now so many stores have closed. I use it as a cut through Wilko to the car park. It's clean and tidy but pretty bare these days.

A few shops under 1 roof that is handy to have. Polite staff. Clean floors. Toilets available.

So sad that there are so many shops shut. We love this arcade and the free parking is a God send.

Sad that 90% of the shops have now gone due to increased rents. Nice family butchers still there, market short of stalls and Wilco doing ok due to walk through from car park.

If/when Wilco closes down I think there will be only 2 shops left in this place. Not sure what is to be done about it.

Been there for the first time with my bf recently who is a local and he was telling me about how the place used to look like back in the days etc. It's a cute mall and it has some decent shops, but definitely looks a bit run down, the market area underground is almost completely empty 😅 lots of shops are closed.. hope it will somehow get some maintenance and that new shops will open!

Nice bright and clean shopping centre. Just a pity so many units are empty. Could do with a return of a butcher and greengrocer. Pity the rents were too high for them My favourite bookstore went Boswells there as ever but getting dangerously close to my price limit Pensioner haircut for my wife and I £30+.(sooner I lose it the better) Still not enough seating for us oldies to rest our legs

The town is dying, there's nothing here anymore. Its shocking and about time Wiltshire Council did something to save the County Town.

It's nice to have a fresh fruit and vegetables shop at cheap prices

Castle Place is a next to the town hall. On the ground floor is a variety of shops the largest being a Wilko. On the basement level there are a selection of specialist stalls including a cafe. Worth a look around especially in the basement as there are quirky stalls and also stalls that do beauty treatments.

No shops. Rent too high. Ghost town and rubbish dump

Such a shame the indoor Market was half the amount businesses and the mall area was the same. Dont charge so much rent and help get new businesses going again trowbridge

Covid, reduced foot fall and I suspect no change in business rates has put a number of these smaller independent shops out of business. A few empty units, but come here for the hardware store.

I have been here once recently. I like the leisure center, but the whole mall sure looks a bit run down. Some shops have closed, but it definitely needs a bit of tlc and some higher maintenance.

Sadly, more shops are closing down for good. Perhaps rates and rents are too high for them to be viable? It seems that soon it will only be a few big supermarkets and charity shops in the town .

Its ok. Rarely go into castle place but I do remember it being better in 2000s

Shame there are a few closed down shops there as the area has a lot of potential . You have a Wilko and a Shaws, but not much else.

The fruit & veggie shop and wilko make this place worth going to. Sadly lots of empty units here but the market downstairs seems okay, if a bit dingy and outdated. Seems a bit grubby around the edges but overall okay

Poor selection of shops, several empty units. Downstairs market is good although I'd personally never go to any of the stalls as there is nothing that interests me. Decent fruit and veg shop and a wilko are the two highlights

Boswells cafe in the Shires, Castle Place. Nice, clean with a decent menu, coffee and cakes. Worth a visit.

Some empty units which is general these days everywhere, but the butcher's, fruit and veg, hardware, ladies hairdresser, camera, Shaws and Wilko's make it a place worth visiting out of the weather.

Slick, well-organised and busy community-led operation. No frills but buzzy feel and good pub grub. Boat staithe a 10 minute walk away.
