Went on a windy cold January day and the park was magnificent!!! It’s only 4 miles from Manchester and on a clear day you can see the Mancunian towers and buildings from the hilltops. There’s a tram stop just beside it so very easy to go to. Wasn’t too crowded at all probably because of the wind. The animals were out and about enjoying the little sun they could find. The gardens are well kept. Some of the food stalls were closed but the cafe and pub were both open for food and drinks

My go to place for long walks and a nice day off. Heaton Park is big and has lots of things to offer. You can go out for walks, picnics, lake rides, squirrel feeding and more. It also has a nice animal farm which is open most of the day. It's a good place for everyone: families, single people, couples, fried groups etc. You'll find something to do here for everyone. Parking is quite cheap, but it's free in the evenings. So it's ideal for summer walks in the evening to cool off. I love going out to feed the wildlife. The squirrels will be brazen enough to come and eat from.your hand if you're patient enough. Dogs might scare them off though. This is by far my favourite place within Manchester. It's well kept and tidy.

Large park, good for walking your dog. Parking is £2.50 for 1-3 hours, pay with cash, or card. Plenty of parking. Good cafe, delicious coffee, and blueberry muffins. Shame no dog water bowls inside or outside, even after asking staff, they didn't seem to know. Very busy place, some dogs off lead, most on. Lots of children and people with baby strollers.

Absolutely worth the visit, layout was really good, you can see how much effort went into it. The water feature was amazing. Toilet and food stalls around the park made visit better. Little fair at the end. Would get 5 stars but paying £5.00 to £7.00 for parking is ridiculous!! Money that people could spend on their kids. Staff were helpful and jotted about the park. Pictures do not do it justice. Would go again but they should not charge stupid money for parking!!

I recently visited Heaton park and had a wonderful experience. The park was well-maintained and had a variety of amenities to offer. The walking trails were well-paved and surrounded by lush greenery, providing a serene and peaceful atmosphere. The park also had several picnic areas and playgrounds, making it a great place for families to relax and enjoy outdoor activities.

Lovely place with lots going on. Plenty of nice green open space. Love the play area near the boating lake. Always very busy and lots of dog walkers. There are places to get a bite to eat, an ice cream van, Swan boats for hire as well as the animal area. The fair was also here. There was only a few spots left available in the lake car park and the maximum parking fee was £3 which can be paid by cash or card

Heaton Park is an absolute delight. Its vast green spaces, charming lake, and picturesque views offer a perfect escape from city life. The park's well-maintained gardens and variety of activities make it ideal for families, picnics, and leisurely strolls. A true oasis in Manchester.

Lovely big park, so much to see and enjoy with the family. They have everything here from a lake with boats, a small animal area, a listed building and a lovely woodland walk. There was a summer funfair on whilst we were here and added to the atmosphere. You can easily spend a day here. Parking is reasonably cheap for the day but can be busy on the weekends.

Really fun experience going on the old trams and seeing the light show. £20 per adult for the light show is way overpriced £10 would be fair. Hot choc is £3 for a reg cup with cream. Face painting booth at the start was great. However I'd bring your own drinks and food for the prices they are asking.

The largest municipal park in Europe. Not as good as it's heyday in the 70's and 80’s but still good for walking. Great for dogs, with plenty of bins in the main areas and paths. There's a boating lake where you can hire pedalos. Two cafes, expensive but good. Children's play area is busy, but excellent. There's one for smaller kids near the lake and another near the parking and farm for older children. There are four parking areas: one near jct 18 opposite Sainsburys (small), one off sheepfoot lane, and one near St Margaret's church at the other end, and the road into there also leads to another larger parking area near the older kids playground/farm. Reasonablish, enforced parking, free after 5, closes at "dusk" ....which is anyone's guess. They have a small farm animal area open at times for kids, and animals in the field. There's also a treetop adventure but it's rarely open afaik and you need to pre-book. There's also a horticultural centre near the st Margaret's end. All in all, a bit barren, but plenty of open space for ball games, walking, picnics, etc.

Heaton Park is a municipal park in Manchester, England, covering an area of over 600 acres (242.8 ha). The park includes the grounds of a Grade I listed, neoclassical 18th century country house, Heaton Hall. The hall, remodelled by James Wyatt in 1772, is now only open to the public on an occasional basis as a museum and events venue. Heaton Park was sold to Manchester City Council in 1902 by the Earl of Wilton. It has one of the United Kingdom's few concrete towers, the Heaton Park BT Tower. The park was renovated as part of a millennium project partnership between the Heritage Lottery Fund and Manchester City Council at a cost of over £10 million. It contains an 18-hole golf course, a boating lake, an animal farm, a pitch and putt course, a golf driving range, woodlands, ornamental gardens, an observatory, an adventure playground, a Papal monument and a volunteer-run tram system and museum, and is listed Grade II by Historic England. It has the only flat green bowling greens in Manchester, built for the 2002 Commonwealth Games.

Took the kids to Heaton park twice in the last few days and had a great time. Day 1 - we parked at the Hall car park and arrived quite late (after 6pm) so the parking was free! They played on the north playground and enjoyed it. Lots of good equipment and we had the place to ourselves- probably because it was raining. The huge slide was tricky to climb up so is only really suitable for older children (or those confident climbing). Day 2 - parked at the lake car park as we had pre-booked a pedalo ride. Parking was very reasonably priced. I think we paid £2 for 3 hours. There was a playground near the lake, again with great equipment which my children enjoyed. The pedalo ride was great value. £16 for up to 4 people for 25 minutes on the swan pedalo, which was enough time for a full lake circuit. Other boats were available for cheaper prices. We really enjoyed it. We also had a drink at the lakeside cafe, and sadly didnt have time for the fair which is also near the lake and also looked like good value. I'd definitely return as we didnt see half of the park due to time restraints. Great place to visit :)

Awesome seeing the liteophia in the park, never been to one of these before and was definitely good to see it. I have filmed a lot of it to which il put on my YT channel within the next coming weeks. Heaton Park is a Hugh place, plenty parking and good walk way’s suitable for dog walkers, prams, wheelchairs etc. Very clean and well maintained park in the heart of Manchester.

What a lovely day me and my youngest had. The Funfair was on and the beach was there, so We had fun at the fair, on the beach & went on a peddle boat! 😁 There is so much to do at this park and I wish we had more time. Need to find the animals and peddle a swan boat next time, so will definitely return again soon. 😄

Great park! We visited in June. We saw the animals, grabbed a drink and an ice cream which I felt we're reasonably priced. We took a picnic. Went down to the lake, played ball on the field. Great place to spend an afternoon. Easy access via Metrolink from where we live.

(Translated by Google) A very beautiful and huge complex for sightseeing and relaxing. There is a zoo in the Haeton Park where you can see animals in the open air, take pictures with them, there are, among others, animals such as llamas, goats, pigs, peacocks, donkeys, chickens, wild boars and many other animals. The park itself is a work of art, very beautiful, you can relax there with your children, breathe fresh air, sit on a bench and rest quietly. The park itself is located in Great Britain in the town of Menchester. I recommend everything to visit this place, especially to tourists from our country. You will not find such a place to rest and visit in one place. I recommend this park to everyone .... (Original) Bardzo piękny i ogromny kopleks do zwiedzania i odpoczynku. Fantastoc Park. Went for a for a little family walk. Playground is good, little cafe is great. Clean toilets. Animals on the little farm are great for the kids. Lots of space to sit or run round. Parking is £2 for 4 hours so fairly decent. Over all, had a lovely day and will definitely go again.

Great place to take the kids and had an awesome time. Easy enough to park and hassle free. Loads of lights to entertain all ages. Only drawback was the cost of the food and drink was extortionate and very unfairly priced. Other than that it's worth the visit

Fabulous free open space to walk around. Good parking facilitie. 4 Cafes, boating Lake with rowing or motor boats and pedalos. The family friendly animal centre is great for children of all ages. Tram rides are available and a tree top adventure section for youngsters is good fun. A poignant Somme memorial for WW1 highlights the long history of Heaton Park. Great picnic venue and the whole site is well signposted.

Lovely location. Vast open spaces to walk in, very quiet. Cattle in one field, donkeys in another. Reasonable sized playground , places to get food. Parking is a maximum of £3. The farm is very small and not really worth visiting. Treetop experience is very expensive

Huge park with plenty of space and different areas to explore. The woodland is great to explore on the way to either of the two parks. The southern play area is the more "natural" (wooden) park, and the northern play area is metal, both are varied and have plenty to do for the kids, and places to sit for the adults. I need to highlight the small slide in the northern play area seems designed to cause kids pain as the bump in the middle is not well designed! Stick to the middle slide of the three!! Coffee and food venues are close by so this is a really good day out!

Lovely park! I particularly like the boating lake area and the old tram 🚋 ! Great place for picnic, play areas for kids, animal farm, birds watching, golf courses 🏌️‍♂️⛳️ Taking in consideration is the largest park in Greater Manchester it could be better maintained. I hope it will be invested more money in cleaning, flowers, and a landscape designer. Unfortunately, I could see plenty rubbish in the bushes.

Visited the park for its high ratings on Google. A very large park with some good treks offering a breath of fresh air indeed. Unlike normal municipal parks found elsewhere, Heaton Park is also home to a few historical monuments so what visitors get to see in this park is much more than vast grasslands.

A vast open space in North Manchester, just of the M60. Lots of areas to walk your dog. Picnic areas playgrounds. Two cafés and regular fairgrounds. There's a great old piece of the Original Town hall tucked away by the lake. Parking is available on the north and south side for a fee; £2.50 for three hours. The farm is good for small holding types of animals with two Peacocks roaming free. Well worth a trip.

Plenty of pay and display parking at the numerous entrances into the park. Can pay with cash or card. I took a pic of the park map to make it easier for planning where to go. There are cafes spotted around and lots of things to visit, please see the map and all will be revealed. Had a lovely, peaceful walk around the boating lake.

The park is amazing with a lot of space on the fields and good for playing any kind of sport. It can get windy on top of hills and it can be very cold in winter but it is still great to be out with a lot of oxygen. There are many Canadian Geese, Coots and swans that you can feed. The park also contains a few different playgrounds with big slides and small slides. It has a varied amount of different activities you or your child can do. There is a trampoline park, where you can set birthday parties. There is also a farm and cows and goats, but due to Corona-virus you can not really see them.

Loved this park, we went to light show with the family and it was an amazing time. Also, it didn't rain on this particular day so we really were so fortunate. I have put a bunch of photos so you can see why it was so much fun. You need to make a booking to go there and with all these coronavirus lockdowns we somehow managed to squeeze in between. They had lots if different food options all along the way for a snack or dinner. Parking was reserved and so was easy to find a spot. I would say this was a fun night out and would recommend without hesitation.

Wide open spaces, as well as lots of hidden gems to explore. Easily accessed by bus or tram. The boating lake is a must and a visit to the Lakeside Cafe. There is also a well stocked garden centre, tennis courts and bowling greens. Several play areas for the youngsters, and lots of animals to see including Highland cattle, donkeys , horses and sheep. A lovely day out for all ages. ❤

Heaton Park was the park we went to for a day out when I was a child, it's the largest municipal park in Europe. I've always loved going there but I don't get to go as much now so today was great. The new play area for children was built within the last couple of years & is good. Something for everyone as far as a Park goes. A good family friendly place. There's a reasonable Cafe and Garden Centre. There's plenty of woodland to explore, a Children's play area, a tree top rope walk/obstacle course type set up. There's animals for the public to pet. There's open space to relax and a historic hall. There are many other amenities too. It really is a nice public park.

Visited for the festival of lights. Which was really good event. Only issue was Since paying for entry for the event they had stalls inside and a mini fun fair charging higher price then you would expect to pay for paying to enter.

Huge park, with wide open spaces, secluded pathways through small woodlands. Animals too. Heaton Hall an historic building is interesting (but not open) an historical observatory (not open). A good sized lake with boats for hire. And of course a children's play area, although can be packed out at times.

This maybe a municipal golf course but the course is a really good design and technical in places with different hazards. You get a lot of golf course for £12 and the condition of the course is really good for a municipal, plus you play winter golf on normal greens and you don't have to use mats either 👌.

It is big, clean and peaceful park. With plenty space to walk around. The boating lake side is busy. There are enough parking spaces.

Attended Heaton park for the Nickelodeon experience (Sky VIP competition). The park it’s self was lovely and clearly had several events running for children. The Nickelodeon experience wasn’t bad. Very to pricey to eat and drink inside there area but you do have the Heaton park café right outside the Nickelodeon event. The Nickelodeon experience had 3 main interactive tents which the kids loved. Then meet Paw patrol, which the younger kids loved. Then right near the exit you have the slime room where you can watch the kids getting slime poured over them. Loads of parking around the park and easy to access.

A great day out! We visited the boating Lake and had a lot of laughs on a pedalo (booking for boats/pedalos online). We were wonderfully surprised by the beach which has taken up residence this Summer! A fantastic idea and something really different.

Best place to visit in Manchester and have quite, and relaxing time. You can visit it alone, with friends or family. Park is very big, and have alot of activities for all. 4 to 5 hours minimum to visit it all and have good time. Definitely put it on your list to visit.

Easy to get to from Heaton Park Tram Stop. Clearly signposted as you walk around the paths, and with good, clear maps of the whole grounds inside the main entrance (it would be wise to take a photo of the map so you can refer to it as you explore). It is well maintained and clear of litter. Plenty for kids and adults alike with attractions such as a cattle pasture, woodland dell, cafe, animal centre (goats, pigs, chicken, turkeys, donkeys), boating lake, tram museum with rides around some of the park, and more. It is a huge park, and with so much to see and do within the grounds it is somewhere we will come back to time and again.

Was there for the Park Life 2023 music festival and it was out of this world, temperatures of 28 degrees, sunny, had some clouds. On the second day also very hot but had a rainfall for about an hour. And then the party went back on, saw VIP artists, great food and entertainment with 11 stages, and the music was pumping the whole day.

We visited today for the race for life event. Always very popular and not so quiet if you want a peaceful Sunday morning dog walk. Lovely friendly atmosphere. Toilets are available as well as places to eat and drink coffee.

Really enjoyed the park although it was much better years ago when I was a child however the memories are still there. Ice-cream van was quite expensive but it was a nice treat. The animal centre bit was closed when we went so if that's what you came for don't get your hopes up. Cafe was also shut so bring something before you take a trip there!

Went to a BBQ at The Dower House. This is an Apiary, with several hives and fresh local honey from the bees there. I'm doing my practicals for Beekeeping there, but is open to the public.

Heaton Park is a true gem in the heart of Manchester. Steeped in history, this expansive park offers a glimpse into the past while providing a perfect escape for families. The park's rich heritage dates back to the 18th century when it was the private estate of the Egerton family. Its transformation into a public park in the early 20th century has preserved its stunning landscapes and historic architecture, making it a must-visit for history enthusiasts. One of the highlights for families is the charming animal farm. It's a delightful experience for kids and adults alike, offering an opportunity to interact with a variety of friendly animals. It's heartwarming to see the joy on my daughter's face as she feeds and plays with them. Another poignant aspect of Heaton Park is the Battle of the Somme monument. This solemn tribute serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made during World War I. Its presence within the park grounds adds a layer of historical gravity to the visit, making it a place of reflection and remembrance. Whether you're here for the history, the animal farm, or simply to enjoy the serene beauty of the park, Heaton Park offers something for everyone. It's a place where past and present seamlessly intertwine, creating an unforgettable experience.

Heaton Park - A lovely park with beautiful views What is Heaton Park? Heaton Park is a large park with a wide array of facilities that is located in North Manchester. It is a great place to go to on a beautiful sunny day. There are multiple walking routes, an animal centre, Tram Museum and Heaton Hall. There is also a Children’s Play Area and a Café. Heaton Park also hosts a light trail for Christmas each year and it is also the venue for Park Life every summer too. The Animal Centre The Animal Centre at Heaton Park was brilliant. They house a wide range of farm animals including Geese, Birds, Pigs, Cows and more. It is in a lovely part of the park with nice views on route there. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing what they were doing and it was a bonus seeing them up close on a nice hot sunny day. Children’s Playground The Children’s playground is great for them to have fun. There are a range of slides, zip lines and swings both for young and old. I love the swings and doing so gave me a moment of nostalgia of what it is like being a kid all over again. Heaton Hall Heaton Hall is a historic building giving an insight of Manchester’s history. It is a beautiful building with a number of stairs outside but it was closed. Tram Museum Unfortunately the Tram Museum was closed on the day of my visit. It was a shame as I was really looking forward to it. It was not meant to be. The Park The park is full of nature with lots of trees and landscapes. There are multiple walking routes with sensational views. My walk was brilliant taking in the scenery. It was peaceful and relaxing taking in my lovely surroundings. The Lakeside Heaton Park has a lake where you can hire different boats for a ride. There is also a path to walk alongside too. It is an ideal spot for a picnic on a lovely day. There is also a café where you can sit down, relax and have a bite to eat. I enjoyed walking near the lake as it reinvigorates you and it gives you a sense of happiness in a great environment. Entry Entry to Heaton Park is free for everyone but if you are to do a boat ride then you are required to book it and pay online. For pricing details then check out the website. Facilities There were numerous Ice Cream vans as it was a hot sunny day. There are also 4 cafes serving a great selection of sandwiches and hot food including Fries. They also offer a range of hot and cold drinks including Milkshakes. The pricing is mid-range. Toilets are on site within the cafes. Parking Heaton Park has its own designated car park which is pay and display where you are required to pay. However, if you have a Blue Badge then it is free for you. If you love walking on a nice day and taking the kids to the playground then Heaton Park is the place for you.

Gorgeous views and quite a diverse farm. The facilities are very nice and are kept warm which is a lifesaver with the weather being as cold as it has been. The cafe is also quite pleasant, lots of seating options though it does get full very quickly. Costs about as much as you would expect with a cup of tea being £2.60.
