Rushed out the door before 11:00. Yes, it has a 10:00 checkout policy, but it’s actually rude if you paid for breakfast on your holiday, to be basically hustled out like that. Won’t be back. In response to the below: You clearly operate a zero-contact B&B and you clearly stated your number to be for emergencies, so it didn’t even occur to us to ask for a late checkout. As a frequent traveler of many decades, I’ve never had any place, be that hotel or B&B make such a fuzz about checkouts, so I can’t recommend it, sorry.

Leave the chain hotels to their aficionados. If you want peace and quiet with perfect but understated facilities you will love it here

What a gem of a location and place to stay. Stayed on business and can’t fault the place. I will be back for a weekend with my wife so she can enjoy the views too. Highly recommend and by far better than many other local options.

We stayed in the Stables Rooms on a business trip and found them to be very spacious, clean and quiet. The B&B has great views right across the valley and is in a tranquil location. I had a perfect nights sleep in a super comfortable bed and then was pleasantly surprised and impressed at the wide range of options at the continental breakfast buffet. Already planning to stay here again next time I am up in the area.

Room was fine apart from the snail trails left on the floor, these had obviously been there for some time. Nice quiet location.

Nice rooms, great location with good views over the countryside, peaceful nights, so quite ! Good choice of food for the continental breakfasts, Robert is extremely helpful if you need anything, nice guy ! We have been here twice and will definitely visit again and would recommend Fernhill to anyone visiting the area.

Fernhill is very clean, with a huge comfortable bed, really homely relaxed place in the best spot next to beautiful open countryside. Great walks right outside your door. Close to shops etc. Jackie Dz. Oz.

Had an absolutely wonderful stay at Fernhill B&B. We stopped in the family room and it was perfect. Very spacious and spotlessly clean! Great countryside location too which is only less than 10 minutes drive into the centre which was ideal for our visit. The owner, Rob, made our stay very memorable. From the beginning he was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be back - thanks Rob!

This has to be one of the best b&b I have stayed at. Rooms a lovely, big with a large screen tv, settee, very nice private bathroom. In another building, there is a little kitchen you can use, it has a Microwave, fridge, cutlery, plates, cups , knives and forks. Around the other side is the breakfast room this looks out on to marvellous scenery, this also has cooking facilities, microwave, toaster, etc, all guest are allowed to use these.

Stopped in 3 different rooms here now all have amazing bathrooms comfy beds warm and spotlessly clean. Location is probably best you will get in the area easy to get too but rural and quiet countryside. I tried to think of something negative to say but honestly I can't fault the place for the pricepoint.

What a beautiful, B & B stayed here due to having a funeral in the area and well wish I was staying longer than a night. Beautiful location up on the moors, with beautiful views to go with it. Quite and tranquil setting to relax. Amazing night sleep, didn’t want to get up. Will be staying here again if in the area.

I regularly stayed when working near by and the rooms are very spacious and homely. The area is very quiet, which overlooks Rochdale. It is lovely to see the horses in their stables in the morning. The breakfast provided has a wide variety of choice. The service of the owner is excellent and when I left something in the room, it was posted out to me.

10/10. We absolutely love this place. Everything about it is perfect! (We liked it so much we stayed three times in one month). It is so laid back and lovely views of the country, great for a relaxing break. Rob is the perfect host/ excellent at returning emails and doing his best to make the stay enjoyable. Myself and my partner have been staying at different hotels/B & B’s for the last seven years and this place is right up there with the best of them. Value for money is exceptional. We will 100% definitely be returning again

👍👍 Had their rump steak from specials board. Oh. My. Goodness - please make this a regular on your menu. Cooked exactly to my liking, exceptionally good quality piece of meat!! Served with chips and salad, opted to add their Stilton sauce (which has added chillies and that day was a little too many, bu...
