My late father was placed here from Yeovil hospital with dementia. Although the staff were good, he sadly passed away here less than 4 weeks here. We got a call to arrange the collection of his body as there is no morgue here, they could not hold his body and his room was needed. We were only just been told he passed away and we had to sort this out...that's terrible to even have to action this after we only just been told he passed away. Then to top it off, when we had to collect paperwork for my father and his belongings, they did not take us into a room or anything, just handed the documents and a plastic bag and said bye at the desk in his ward. Where is the care and after thought in this. I hope and pray your loved ones don't go in here and pass away.

If I had reviewed yesterday I would have given this service no stars, I went back today and was given the NHS service I have experienced all my life except for yesterday. Today, the booking in was easy and the nurse was kind, caring, knew her job and made me feel reassured. She didn’t dismiss me, ignore me or treat me as if my anxiety wasn’t serious. I’d received a nasty feral cat bite injury that needed someone to dress it and prescribe antibiotics so I don’t get seriously ill. So TY Rebecca you restored my faith in nursing.

My father was transferred from Yeovil District Hospital to Frome Community Hospital on what was his last journey. The staff at Frome were fantastic. They looked after us as much as our father, through to the end of his life, with care and compassion. There is not one person I can single out as being better than the others. All were fantastic, from the nurses to the person who brought us drinks. We cannot thank you or recommend you enough. From all the family and friends that visited him during his last few days, we'd like to thank you to all.

I took my mum to the walk in centre on New Year's eve, after she had a fall. They were so professional, polite and so thorough in examining every possible complication of a fall. I really was very grateful for their marvellous care of her, and we didn't even have to wait to be seen for more than a few minutes. Thank you so very much to everyone there.

I visited my elderly mother, who is suffering from delirium, on the ward yesterday for the first time. My Mum had been moved from Yeovil hospital at short notice. We had been assured that the move, despite being over an extra hour on our already eight hour journey and over an hour from Mum's home, was worth while. This was meant to be a friendly 'community' hospital with intensive patient care, rehabilitation and unlimited visits: I did not find this to be the case. The ward clerk was obstructive and incompetent regarding visiting arrangements and spoke to me as if I was a child. She was particularly insensitive considering the situation with my Mum. The mental care team at Yeovil had advised that my confused Mum needed as much visiting as possible by friends and family to help with any recovery that may be possible. My Mum is not on end of life care, however, the ward clerk took it upon herself to ask for the individual distances that the family and friends are from the hospital so that in her words "in the event of my Mum dying" she could work out who could get there first. Follow up: went to visit at a weekend. Entirely different staff who could not have been nicer. Moral of the story: visit at the weekend.

Free parking, you might have to wait to get a space but factor that into your journey time and that will make it less stressful. The receptionist was friendly and clear in her instructions and the treatment room was warm and comfortable. The member of staff who treated me was very good at listening and helping me. The hospital atmosphere was calm and organised and looked clean.

I visited with my son minor injury department was met my a very abrupt receptionist .thinking it was just me i shrug it off only to hear her abruptness with other patients.we are all living in a crazy world right now and we are all under alot of stress.however compassion empathy politeness is all free .the receptionist is not aware of why people are sat in a waiting room in A&E in pain and discomfort an elderly lady had hit her head her rudeness absolutely mortified me .in all my 30 years in the medical field never have i seen such rudeness But after this meet and greet the staff were amazing

I kind of agree. I'm unclear about what it's capabilities are. If you're ill you need to be somewhere else. Staff very nice, but old people (my mother) left too long sitting in chair not getting the physio they need. Staff turnover seemed to be high too. Didn't seem that motivated to get people up and moving. They told me my mother was gaining weight, when in fact she was retaining water in her legs and feet. The medication caused this. As soon as she left hospital and stopped some of the meds she was on, the water retention in legs started to decline - it wasn't to do with being more active.

Went for diabetic eye screening. There's a map that shows where to go and sit if no one is on reception. Staff friendly. Toilets available. Car parking is limited. Lots of different departments. Wards upstairs. Machines available for snacks.

I visited a couple of weeks ago in some discomfort and was so impressed with the care and attention from the staff. They acted quickly and were very reassuring, also making sure I understood what was happening and giving me time to ask questions. Thank you so much.

Seems strange to write a review of a Minor Injuries unit but I was so impressed to be treated as an individual in a hospital setting that I felt I should. Both Julie on reception and Miriam who treated me were very attentive, helpful and personable. I had to return the next day for a follow up on my injury and the nurse who treated me then (I’m afraid I can’t recall her name) was also great. Highly recommended... if you happen to be in the area with a minor injury!

We had to visit Frome hospital yesterday because my daughter had broken her arm. We got there early and we were third in the queue for minor injuries. It was very well marked from the front door, what they expected and where you had to go. The staff were super friendly, and very professional. We had the assessment, X-ray and plaster all done and finished within 2 hours with excellent service and super nice nurses. thank you for a very pleasant experience.

Really does not deserve a Star. Went in feeling ill a few weeks ago on a Sunday, only 1 person in the waiting room,1 hour 10 mins it took them to see me interrupting the "gossip chat" behind the reception desk between 3 members of "busy" staff. When i went it was then asked why i did not ring 111 as if you feel "ill" this is not the place to come!!!! May i remind the taxpayers and the NHS funded through our NI contributions (it is not FREE as the media like to make out) that this "wonderful hospital" cost £15 million but apparently out of hours you are supposed to go to Bath or Yeovil Hospitals or ring 111. This place needs either upgrading to A and E or treatment center for the area. All they basically do is refer you somewhere else.

I accepted bereavement counselling following my mother going from this hospital into palliative care. The counsellor assigned to me is now sending me intimidating e-mails demanded payment for counselling sessions for which several days notice were given. I shall be taking this up with the Hospital manager AS I RESENT BEING THREATENED BY THE HOSPITAL'S HIRED COUNSELLING STAFF in what I thought was a counselling profession. my vulnerability was exploited.

I attended the minor injuries unit this morning: 2/2/2024, having been referred there by a GP at the medical centre whoo couldn't even be bothered to phone me (someone else did it!). A ruptured bicep obviously wasn't worth their time and attention. However, despite a lengthy wait at the minor injuries unit at the community hospital, the nurse that attended to me was courteous, patient, thorough, kind and understanding. There was no indication of wanting to rush the consultation and I felt that my injury was being taken seriously. So, maximum stars for the lady in question. On returning home, though, when I attempted to phone the number I had been given to make an appointment with a physiotherapist, the answering message stated that the service was unavailable until next week due to staff shortages. The NHS that came into being when I was a lad and was a beacon of hope for those unable to afford doctor's consultations and medicines is, I'm sad to say, in tatters. Except, that is, for the young lady that was so kind and understanding towards me at the community hospital. I have forgotten the name on the badge she wore, but she deserves praise for her professionalism.

After no success with NHS 111 over the bank holiday, a trip to minor injuries was called for. Staff at Frome Hospital were approachable, understanding and curtious. Thank you

We had a stressful end to the day when my son and his Grand dad finished off their garden maintenance by helping a fire along with petrol. Grand dad doused, Jack lit. They obviously weren't thinking. Jack has burns all up one leg, some on the other and singing to the hair on his head with possible burning to his face and neck. The two nurses seeing to Jack were so good in how they treated us, both efficiently, but also (and quite importantly) as human beings in need of help. It reminded me again of how we are so lucky to have such a valuable resource to hand without question. It turned out had we gone half an hour later, that part of the hospital would have been closed due to shortages. We have such a valuable resource to hand which should not be underestimated. Thank you so much, Frome Community Hospital.

Took my partner in last night with a bad ear and the nurse who saw him was extremely rude. She was tugging his ear about and jamming stuff into it — even when we told her he was in agony with his ear. She talked over the both of us and wasn’t a lot of help :(

I want to thank Nurse Rebecca for saving me on Monday night last. She treated me with kindness, empathy and drugs as I was suffering from an abscess on my tooth that was extremely painful. Thank you Nurse Rebecca you are fantastic.

Hopeless. Phoned up after cutting my hand open and was told at 10.10 pm they were closed. When I asked about the website saying 11.00pm, i was abruptly told to go to RUH Bath as they were too busy!!??

As we were to discover, my wife had broken a bone in her foot . We were dealt with speedily, courteously and efficiently. After an x-ray on site she left the hospital in a temporary cast and documents completed for further attention at a fracture clinic. Thanks to all.

Here today for our seven year old daughter as advised by our GP. Despite being very polite, the serious highly strung lady on reception was still so rude and abrubt with us straight away. Raising her arms, and expecting an answer immediately, as if we were the scum of the earth! A good lesson for our kids how not to be! Absolutely no need for that behaviour and Lisa Bainton needs further training or a non customer facing role. If you're that unhappy working there get another job! If she speaks to me with two young children like this, who knows how she treats other people!

my son had a cough so me & my partner took him here after suggested by one of our family members. it says on the website clearly it’s a place that does all sorts of things so we turn up and they tell us to sit down we tell them the issue bare in mind we’ve been into the doctors 2 times for his cough he’s had it for two weeks so the last doctor said to go back in a week i tried calling my go no answer hence why we ended up here. after telling us to sit down we were left sat for 2 hours with our 9 month old crying because he’s poorly and when we were waiting the lady started turning all the lights off so we were practically sitting in the dark. so they finally call us in and proceed to tell us that it’s actually just a minor injury place when it says illness on the doors and on the website. it was 7:30pm when we came in my partner didn’t finish work until late so we couldn’t go until that time as i don’t drive. so then a lady called sally says ‘ is there any reason you brought him this late’ and saying to our son ‘ you should be in bed by now’ i’m so appalled by this behaviour people like you are the reason why people don’t come to the nhs anymore. and then proceeded to ask me & my partner if we were mum and dad and looked us up and down when we said yes. i wouldn’t recommend this place at all. it doesn’t even deserve any stars. as a first time mum i left there not even reassured one bit.
