I don’t do reviews normally. But I am so impressed with a guy called Tony. I had to. I have been into the store in Basingstoke several times recently I am in a wheelchair and every time he has approached me and asked if I needed assistance. He has gone through the tills with me and loaded the car. Thank you Tony

I always enjoy visiting Homebase. Staff are friendly, helpful and the store is big and spacious. I recently did a click and collect visit on Sunday 3rd May at 12:15pm and all 3 staff on the counter were superb, positive and jovial. It’s what customers need and I left feeling very positive about the visit and the service I received! Well done!

Getting ready for summer in the outdoor garden area. Few more days and it should be completed... worth a look. Time to start scraping between the paving.

Awful experience. After being made to wait with staff staring at me without serving. I do not appreciate a member of staff coming out of the store 5 minutes after I had paid accusing me of stealing. I was accused of filling a box and leaving without paying and supposedly setting off an alarm (no alarm sound was heard). After putting my son and purchases in the car the member of staff came outside saying ‘you have filled that box and not paid for it, you have set the alarm off’. After then getting the box out and showing the member of staff that nothing was in the box and actually it was still sealed in the plastic this staff member huffed and walked off. No apology was given. Had I not had my son in the car I would have returned all the items and probably will tomorrow. The staff member could have managed this a lot better however came across as rude and accusatory. Better training should be provided.

Staff on customer service desk very disinterested. Did not even look at the customers when talking to them. Witnessed another customer actively try to engage but completely failed. Floor staff and till staff were very pleasant and engaging though. Hence 3 stars rather than the 1 star the service desk deserve.

Large store. Always seems to be well stocked with a variety of indoor and outdoor plants. Prices are competitive and staff are mostly friendly. You do get the odd grumpy one but overall a good DIY store all around. Good parking. You do need to reopen the customer toilets though 😒

Went looking for a new bbq today. A very helpful young man came and gave us lots of help and advice. Excellent customer care. Came away with just what we were looking for.

Fantastic Hardware and DIY store, especially the tool shop. Very tidy and organised throughout, great staff. Still has all the same range as when Bunnings branded, just the logo has changed.

We were looking for a last minute gift to act as a token for a garden plant later in the year when planting would be more successful. They had the perfect solution - and it was reduced on price - and also a good selection of hyacinth bulbs. We ended up spending more than we intended but we ended up with several extra presents for ourselves.

Before I start, to give context, I am a disabled lady and for those who have not been, Homebase Basingstoke is a large store, and the Garden Centre is right at the back. I needed help and advice in the outside Garden centre. Could not find a member of staff. Upon re entering the store, a staff member was coming out, I asked him a pricing question on something in the sale. He was very unhelpful and rude. Just told me to go to the tills. I explained I was disabled, and this involved me taking a heavy hanging basket, which if I didn't want, would have to return back to the garden centre... He was not bothered. I did see a member of staff in the actual store who was more helpful, took the time to look up the price, and returned it to the garden centre when I didn't want it.

I had a good experience with Click and Collect. Placing the order and choosing my local store was easy and free of any delivery charge. Collecting the item was also straightforward, with the collection point just inside the main entrance and no queue when I visited in the evening.

A very large store with everything you need for the home and garden. When a till got busy another one was opened quickly. There is some good deals on and got a bargain on a lawnmower and hedge cutter.

Great store, always has a great range of items, I also find it brilliantly helpful being able to check local store stock online and quite often you can have items that are not in stock ordered as click and collect.

Staff mixed the wrong paint and didn't follow their own protocol where they should have shown my wife the finished paint. Then drove home 100 miles to find it was the wrong colour. Lovely staff at Ledbury Homebase sorted it all out with no fuss. Ledbury can have 5 stars.

Staff seem to not have love for their job. Demotivated and uninterested. Shame because had great service from a young chap for my Xmas tree almost 2 years ago. This time however, very humourless and transactional. Motivate and inspire your people please, it'll pay you back ten fold

Staff really friendly & helpful. Could do with a bit more lighting on the entrance to the car park as its not that visible @ night.

Homebase at Basingstoke now looks like a warehouse. Although their advertising says its a 50% off there wasn't really much to look at.

Just popped in to collect clearance tiles ordered on click and collect. All ready and waiting so no complaints. Did not do any other shopping so can't comment on other aspects of the store.

Very helpful staff, 2 members (wish I could name them but I forget their names) who went beyond the expected duty to help me.

We went for replacement gas for bbq. Ryan greeted us at the door and took us to the till and processed payment. We put gas in carboot and returned to store for lightbulb. Ryan appeared by our side to check if we were okay and needed any help. Excellent customer service!

Have not been in one of these stores for many years, possibly due stores being closed. But very impressed with the range of products and very large spacious store with a good outside garden centre. In fact ended up buying a few things.

Nice and empty which we like in these COVID times. Limits on stock, garden gloves and tools - would have though be packed to rafters. Good clear one way system. Shame folk who exit with no purchases just barge past open till - plebs not social distancing.

Staff very helpful. I wanted some tester paint but couldn't find them on the shelf. A very nice man came to explain that he had to mix sample paints of the colours I wanted, which he then did.

Rubbish products. Wasted a whole tub of tile cement. Tiles literally fell off the wall. Tiler was not impressed

Very disappointing visit. I was returning a BBQ gas bottle which we had paid a £40 deposit for to be told that I would only receive £12.50 of that back. Then to add insult to injury as it was my husbands card that had made the original purchase I could only get it as a gift card. As it's a 40 mile round trip from home to Basingstoke it really didn't seem worth it. And the young lady on the desk was not very polite. Will not be returning in a hurry.

Had a good mooch around Homebase yesterday. Pretty much had everything you could want for the home and garden. Some items like the solar lights were for sale as a 2 for one. BBQs also had some great discounts. Bedding plants for the garden were also on offer. Lots of bargains but also a bit of tat for sale as well. I do like this store, but you have to ensure you pick the decent quality items, as there is some cheap rubbish on sale too.

Found a great gas BBQ for a hundred pounds on one of their sales. I love looking aroung this store, I always find something to take home. The staff are friendly and helpful. But mostly, I love coming here for inspiration, when I am looking to start a new room in our home or a project in my garden.

Homebase is a popular resource for the middle market enthusiasts and it is in Basingstoke. The market is quite competitive and it's difficult to grab a niche. I really appreciate the level of staff in the shop, in some stores the cut corners by reducing staff, of all is well then good, but you have an issue no help is available. I found them great for garden plants, ornaments, furniture and electrical items. They have gone down the route of boutique zones and out sourced mini departments to known brands which works. They hold a token kitchen design department but that market is very competitive.

Once I had discovered the way in, I found what I wanted however I couldn't see the price as the item was rather larger than I expected. I spotted some staff and they were very friendly and helpful which led to ke purchasing exactly what I wanted and at a decent price. Am excellent visit for someone who detests shopping. Homebase, thank you.

White haired lady on the click and collect was very unhappy with me disturbing her personal call to the electric company about topping up her electric at 12:30 today. Pretty poor customer service. Nice shop, big car park, unhappy staff
