Absolutely love the peak district. Some fabulous places to go on adventure and discover from Mam tor to Kinder scout and much more Mum tour has a great car park at the bottom of it and a really easy walk which would take 15 20 minutes for youngsters to walk up. Absolutely stunning, sunsets and sunrises to be seen from here. Even better is Kinder scout but is a much bigger walk, especially taking Jacob's ladder which is not Easy but worth every step once at the top

Absolutely amazing place to walk, definitely recommend even just for the scenery. It's a national Trust place but parking is limited need to get here early and it's £6 for the entire day.

Breathtaking views 🤩⛰️ Although I'm too unfit to climb this high so the stairs were also 'breathtaking 🥵', thank god I survived and made it to the top! It wasn't easy so bare that in mind if you are unfit 🥲 Car park not very conveniently divided into a few smaller bits where you can't really see if there are any spaces so you just get in, see there's no space and have to reverse back through all those people walking around as there's not enough space to turn around, unless you have a smart fortwo 🤓🛺 It was very windy too, like REALLY windy, take a windproof jacket with you ☝️

Views totally blew me away, amazing !!! If you like walks and nature this is a must. We parked on the road and walked up although there is a designated car park higher up. Trig point at the start for all those wishing to check it off if trig hunting. Walk along Man Tor wasn't too challenging, nice little rocky path to follow. Had a lovely day, will be walking this area again 🙂

I can’t stay enough about the Peak District it’s just so overwhelmingly beautiful. It doesn’t matter where you go there, you will not be disappointed. It’s just gorgeous. Castleton is a lovely quaint place to begin an explore of the area. Mam Tor is just stunning in any weather and the view from Winnats Pass is awesome. Just go there. It’s worth the drive. There’s tons to do there.

Parking at Mam Nick car park £3.50 for 7 hours. Looks like there's off road parking nearby but I wouldn't tempt it if you're later than 9.30-10am. Lovely circular walk approximately 12 Km, map recommended (All trail offline)!

Parking was awful, very limited and about £8 for the afternoon. Pathway up to the top was good, really needed given how busy it was (it was incredibly busy). Don’t bring small children in prams or wheelchairs though, you won’t get out of the car park.

Decent walk, amazing view. Car park is always full but do not follow those parking on double yellow line 😅 they also have parking warden up there and they got us on summer bank holiday. My fault though 😂

Its good Hiking place near Manchester. Its natural beauty. I cannot give full marks. name boards and toilets missing in that area. Parking space is very small. No refreshment area near. Need a casuality center near that. But over all good place to enjoy with out kids. Dont park near road sides. Proper parking spot with pay meter in that area. Choose always proper way. Some short cuts having cross channels with water that may give you more difficulty than original way.

Great place to hike with family. Check weather before travel. Parking can be busy on weekends when weather is good. Enjoyed the views from up the top. The climb is not too difficult. Would definitely recommend for a family day out with kids. My kid enjoyed the climb and the wind at the top is a thing to feel and enjoy.

What a beautiful place, spectacular views and very much back to the wild. You walk past cows, sheep etc. Unfortunately no toilets or nearby shops so make sure you are prepared if your coming for a hike.

The Dark Peak is the higher and wilder part of the Peak District in England, mostly forming the northern section but also extending south into its eastern and western margins. It is mainly in Derbyshire but parts are in Staffordshire, Cheshire, Greater Manchester, West Yorkshire and South Yorkshire. Principal upland areas within the Dark Peak include Kinder Scout, Bleaklow (both of which rise to over 600 m (2,000 ft)), Black Hill, the Roaches, Shining Tor, Mam Tor, Win Hill and Stanage Edge. Over the years, military aircraft have crashed on the Dark Peak, generally because of a combination of numerous nearby air bases, inexperienced pilots, primitive or faulty equipment and poor visibility. Because of the bleakness and emptiness of the high moorlands and the consequent difficulties of recovery, substantial wreckage remains at some sites in remote parts of the moorland, though militarily sensitive materials were removed and salvage teams sometimes gathered debris into piles, or burned or buried it. Some great walks, with beautiful scenery. We would recommend it to anyone.

Beautiful place! an easy hike. Did it with a 4 year old and he had loads of energy to keep going even after the peak. The path is well made with rocks paved. We did not catch the rain but I think you would not have an issue with muddy boots even if it did. Its a fairly quick climb to the peak of Mam Tor. There is a paid car park, (use the website on your phone browser to make a payment if the app does not work.) You can park along the road outside , but using the car park I think helps support the place etc.

If you love natural scenery , the Peak district is a sure go to place. But do note lots of walking and climbing so be prepared to gear up.

Amazing day with family and friends, spectacular scenery and some outstanding photo opportunities. Challenging in some parts and easier in others, perfect to build up your stamina. Il be going back again without question.

Parked below Mam Tor and hiked Lord's Seat and Brown Knoll. If you are after a great Trig away from most of Society then hike this route. September and I had 3 layers on. It was crisp but well worth it.
