Extremely long wait times. All about money instead of a great customer experience. Only two employees working seeing patients. If you're allowing dozens of appointment slots & you only have two people working to see them, you deserve all the back lash. I don't care if you are short staffed. That's not my problem. Shouldn't pass that down to the customer that has to wait 3-4 hours because his new job doesn't have other options for physicals. I was late for work because of this non sense.

Take a full PTO day off of work if you need to come here. Even if you have an appointment, block out half a day at least. I've come to FastMed maybe 4 or 5 times in my life. Each time, I set an appointment to try to save some time with waiting. Every. Single. Time. I show up 15-20 minutes BEFORE my scheduled appointment and then have to wait 2-3 hours past my scheduled time to be seen. I waited as long as 4 and a half hours one time after my scheduled appointment. I'd understand an hour wait if they were slammed but they're not even that busy when I've been, plus 2+ hour waits? Yesterday, I had an appointment at 5:45. I got there at 5:30. I was FINALLY called back at 7:20. They close at 8:00, so I sat in the back room alone for 15 minutes listening to the nurses and workers in the back arguing about who was going to sweep and do various closing tasks to go home. Someone eventually got in to see me, I'm assuming after they decided who was to do which closing tasks, and my appointment took all of 3 minutes. I was there for hours just to have a 5 minute or less appointment. Please, if you value your mental health and time, DO NOT COME HERE. The only reason I would ever come back here is if I had absolutely no other option and even then, I'd choose a different urgent care in town. This place is a joke, to be honest.

I had a great experience with the people at FastMed. However, when it came to follow up, going to FastMed was really a mistake. I went for a physical and TB test as part of the new hire process for my new job. All was fine and dandy until the FastMed was not open on Sunday (I had double checked that they would be when I was there). When I went to another FastMed to get my TB test read, they couldn’t read it because the original FastMed had not recorded the time of my TB test. I was told I would need to go back to the FastMed on Stratford Road if I wanted to get the work redone for free but I actually live elsewhere. FastMed left me in a bind.

Where to start. First went to the One on University, in Winston Salem. They was closed. Then went to the one on Strafford Road around 0830 had to make an appointment for 11:15. I tried to get seen before I had to pickup my girls. Which had to wait in the car all the time. I burned up a 1/4 of tank of gas for (AC) while waiting to be seen. Appointment was at 11:15-14:30 to be seen. I'm 46 years of age. While working on my job I believe I dislocated or even broke my wrist. They only had one Nurse practitioner. She told me it was arthritis. I believe I need another opinion. Because I can't move my wrist in a downward motion without great discomfort. It wasn't the staff fault. It was FastMed fault they fell there staff and patience. ---- S.Briggs

Would have given this place a five star review in the past. That’s because I’ve been here five maybe six times as a walk-in for various problems. The care has always been good and quick. But that all changed today when I walked in for a back injury, and was told that they don’t take walk-ins. It literally says on the door “no appointment necessary.” I have never gotten an appointment at this location. Ever. That’s why I go here. I can get an appointment at my primary care physician’s office, if I need to. The receptionist, while polite, insisted that they never took walk-ins, and she has been there for two years. I have probably been there twice within the past year and a number of other times when n probably six years, and, again, have never gotten an appointment. If you only take appointments, you may wanna change the sign on your door. You may also wanna go back in time and fix all the times that I came there without an appointment.

Worst service ever. I was there right at 8am when they open. I was greeted with my computer isn’t up and I can’t do anything yet. I asked if I could wait and was told, again that the computers aren’t up and she couldn’t do anything. I was willing to wait but was s greeted coldly. I did ask her if going somewhere else would be more convenient for her. She let me know of two other urgent care facilities near by. I would skip this place. The rudeness is just not worth it.

I went up their two times. They didn't. have a doc both days. I wish someone reach out to me . She said she call me . She didn't. The other time she call me from a private ##. I answer she hung up. It only rung. She's not personally and her attitude stink. The nurse and the doctor was 👍 great and performs was excellent 👏🏿

Sign said 'Masks Required'. Most visitors were not masked. Staff was not bothered by that. Waited two hours for pre-employment drug testing. Presumably some of the others were sick and sharing it. Nothing fast or urgent about this experience other than the urgency of having to pee before your turn arrives. If you need care please go elsewhere.

Horrible Front desk did not call me the morning of my appointment to let me know the where out of TB test which is why I scheduled the visit. Very unprofessional staff! It’s like customer service doesn’t exist! When it was time for me to come back in to get the test read once I got the test administered which was 2 days later! I came in to a black ( dark) office and two workers ambushing me to tell me the office was closed and to come back! You would of thought they would have sent out an email or call to let patron‘s no the office was closed till 11am. When I finally got my test read the office was full of Patriots standing and sitting around waiting to be seen it was like a mad house! People where complaining on how unprofessional they were. It was like a circus. I’ll never recommend anyone or go back! This visit gets a -1 star ⭐️

I know this is likely not this specific place’s fault but I walked in without an appointment and was told I could not be seen until the next day at 2:45pm. There is nothing urgent about that. Why bother calling it an urgent care? Why do these places even offer appointments? Shouldn’t it all be first come, first served? I would really love some insight into why this is.

I was given an appt after my VA rep called first to obtain a prior auth for community based care as I am a Veteran and there isn't a VA hospital clise by. We were told they don't necessarily do "walk-in's" due to not always having a provider. I arrived for my 11:15 appt and was not called back until 12:54. While in the waiting room I observed a couple of people who had been waiting as long or longer than me who ended up walking out. Needless to say there is no "Urgent" care provided here.

The personnel were very helpful and knowledgeable of the check in process. My NP was very friendly and genuinely concerned about my condition and listened actively to my concerns as a patient. My overall experience was pleasant.

Had an appointment for a pre-employment physical and TB test. Should not have taken 2 hours and 30 minutes, but it did. After waiting for more than an hour after the nurse took my vitals, I opened the door to the exam room to find the doctor at the nurses station eating. I asked him if I needed to call for delivery since I was hungry too. Staff was not professional or organized. They did not have any concept of time management. They have a sincere lack of concern for their patients and their time. If you need medical help or a physical, Fastmed at Thruway is definitely not the place to go!

My experience was fine. What I have an issue with is they are listed as an “Urgent Care” instead of an employment and people think they can come here so they don’t need to go to the ER - and then are turned away. This should not be listed as a generic urgent care. It should be clearly marked on line and on premises they only deal with employment injuries/illness for ‘urgent care’.

Shouldn’t even get one star! Came to get TB test read to a closed facility. This is an hour trip for me! Very disappointed and will definitely spread the word! No one should visit this facility!

Customer service has improved so much. The ladies at the front desk have been more professional and approachable. I went to both University Pkwy and Stratford locations. It is such a big improvement! Thank you FastMed for taking customer service seriously. And to the staff, thank you for all you do!

This facility is an appointment only location but both times I went they were not able to honor my appointment time. The first time I went, I waited an hour & left. Second time I was there for an hour & a half. If you require appointment times, you should honor the time. If it's a staffing issue, than either fix the staffing issue or alter your appointments to reflect your current staffing levels.

Don't go to these doctors offices unless you like getting let down! The first office had no practitioner and the second office I was there for almost 4 hours and never was informed that their equipment was inoperable. The doctor had also asked me if i wanted an xray or not for a neck injury. Very unprofessional and irritable staff as well. The only reason they got 1 star from me is because it wouldn't let me post without a star.

So I'm definitely not a person to complain about things. I feel as if it's not appropriate, especially when it comes to healthcare. I feel like In most instances emergencies happen and complaining isn't appropriate. However in this case it is different. I scheduled an appointment yesterday for 345pm. I was not seen by the provider until 7:15pm and was out of the office until 735pm. That's almost four hours! I also then asked for my meds to be sent to another pharmacy, and they were not sent properly. I called the urgent care to clarify again and spoke specifically to the provider on the phone. He still did not send it to the proper pharmacy. So now this morning I had to get them.

Went to this facility for a pre-employment drug screen. My vehicle was out of service so I was required to walk 2 miles one way. Called at 1:30 to see if they had a male attendant on for an observed test. They said no, so I called the lab who reads the tests. Because of my transportation issue, the director made the test a non-observed at 3:45. At 4:15 pm, I walked 2 miles to the facility. At 4:38 I arrived at a locked and closed office. No information was given to me from the front desk when I had called earlier. The sign on the door has open until 8 pm. Because I did not get this test done in time, I have had my start date delayed by a week forcing me to get way behind on my bills and jeopardized my employment status. This is a company with terrible management and poor communication. The individual workers are polite and respectful but with poor management I would avoid Fastmed at all costs. You’ve been warned.

Today reminded me of why I don't go to fastmed/urgent care. Made my appointment online, got a call to have me come in early. Drove there just for them to tell me I have to pay out of pocket for a physical.. .a PHYSICAL. That they don't take insurance for physicals. Quite possibly the most idiotic thing I have ever heard of. Waste of time and gas and the front desk person was beyond rude and smug about it.

I got to my appointment before 3. I was the 3rd guy in the waiting room , but it still took forever I didn't get out till 5:30. The nurse apologized, and was very helpful. But doctor was very slow and seemed to be new to doing DOT physicals. Way to long for someone with a appointment. No busier than it was.

If I could give zero stars I would. I’ve gone here in the past and, except for at least an hour wait time, my experience was good. This time I scheduled an appointment for 2:15. I was able to get in to see my primary care doctor at 11 so I called Fastmed to cancel my appointment. I was told that they had already canceled my appointment because they did not have a provider to treat me. The customer service representative said they had called to notify me of the cancellation. I told her no one had called. She said she had nothing to do with that and rushed to end the call. I’m glad I was able to get treated without them, otherwise I would have spent all afternoon looking for an alternative clinic. I will try to avoid Fastmed in the future.

I wish I could give NO STARS. What a terrible experience. This is an unprofessional setting but i had to schedule an appointment here due to my PCP not having any availability until the end of next month. Everyone is rude begining from check in to medical staff. I hate i had to come here but my concerns for my health were too urgent to wait and this was the earliest appointment i could get near by. When the doctor finally came in she said i could only speak about one concern because she's the only Dr. Here. Well to rap it up, i didn't even get seen; i saw the doctor just so she could tell me she's the only one here and i asked for my refund. I wanted an hour to not be seen; TERRIBLE! I won't ever come here again.

I had no choice as to where I could go as this was a work related injury! After waiting over an hour I was finally given the tablet to check in. Then I sat and sat and sat! Finally called in approximately 1.5 hours later. Was weighed in and asked how tall I was , both of which was documented wrong on my chart. X-ray was done and thankfully an X-ray professional reads them as the NP said they looked good and she didn’t see anything, yet X-ray showed an issue. I was informed that I should hear from Orthopedic doctor, but I needed to follow up with them today. As of today ( 4 days later) I have yet to hear from Ortho, my appointment was almost 30 minutes ago and I’m again sitting and waiting with a room full of people that were here before me .If you have any other options, I’d go with that instead of this place!
