It is hard to spot this place from the main road as it is behind an old Howard Johnson’s. There is indoor and outdoor seating. It is run by a couple of brothers. Everyone is very friendly. Full bar available. TV for games. It appears to attract the Wake Forest students and their parents. I originally went with a friend for drinks but went back with my family for some food. The potato sins & mozzarella sticks were great. I got a burger that was cooked just right with my favorite toppings. My daughter got a buffalo wrap and loved it. My wife got an amazing Steak sandwich, definitely going back for one myself. My friend states the steaks here are amazing, I will have to have one soon. I loved the laid back atmosphere and can see this as a great spot to catch a game with friends. Thanks Aaron for putting me on to this place!

Over fifteen years, sometimes five lunches a week, I have enjoyed literally thousands of meals at Putters. Bill, Michael, Matt, Taylor and crew are enjoyable and invest in every detail of the customer’s experience. Proudly serving “The Best Steaks in Winston Salem” as well as curating many local beers on tap…the experience and taste guarantee a loyal client base. My biggest tip of the hat goes to the “back of the house” for preparing meals that are consistently delicious with the highest quality ingredients. If you are visiting…stop in. If you live here…come once and (like me) you will find a new lunch, dinner, or beer ‘n apps “home”.

Loved this place in Winston-Salem. We were looking for a Local place and found Putter's. I had the bacon garlic burger with tots. My husband had the jalapeno steak sub with gold balls. Atmosphere is casual and delightful. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area or visitors like us.

Fantastic. Weirdest blue cheese dressing I’ve ever had but it was really good and obviously homemade. This place is straight out of the 90s - it must not have changed a bit since it opened. I recommend.

Wow!! Loved it!! Wasn't sure when I walked in but once seated.. We were taken care by Olivia.. She was super sweet and man oh man, she ruled the place!! She took charge and with the support of her co-workers.. We loved it! Food was great!! Golf balls, Jalapeño pimento cheese and burgers were great!! Beer was cold, too!!

Food was fine and the Bloody Mary was excellent. Was told by Wake Forest couple on Friday that it was the place to go to eat, drink and watch football before the game. Owner’s son, who was not the most congenial host, advised that it was restaurant not a sports bar and expected tables to turn. In other words, he asked us to leave after an hour and a half. If it is a restaurant and not a sports bar, then it shouldn’t list itself as the latter.

Exactly what it says it is. A good place for a meal and a beer. Friendly waitstaff. Rustic appearance. Come as you are! :)

Food was delicious and staff was very friendly! Must try the Golf Balls, deep fried whole potatoes. We had the Chicken Teriyaki Sub, French Dip Sub, & Sweet potatoes fries and everything was great!

Good food. Affordable prices. Friendly staff. Quick service. They had a lot of take out orders but the kitchen was very timely which I appreciate.

Phenomenal food a a very fair price. The southwest cheese steak is always very good as it was this night. My wife got a salad and it was very tasty and loaded with ham.

Great place for families and small groups. Outdoor patio is covered and heated in cooler months. Kids menu, steak is great, try their Putters signature sides. Good beer selection with full bar.

A Winston Salem staple in my opinion. Every time I go my food is always great and the staff is very friendly. Also very close to Wake Forest University and right by their football stadium and men's basketball arena. It might sound fake, but they truly do have some of the best steaks in Winston for being such a classic pub/grill. Highly recommend!

I had the prime rib sand which. It's actually a piece of prime rib. Not shaved. Really good. Fried mushrooms were great. Service was prompt . Not super friendly just straight forward and getting it done. Would come again.

I moved away from Winston in October and Putter's is the restaurant I miss the most. It is family owned and operated with a very friendly staff. It certainly isn't modern, and doesn't have the nicest TVs, but that didn't stop me from coming almost every week. It's hard to beat sitting on the patio on a nice night. The menu is pretty extensive with something for everyone. It took me over a year to settle on my regular order (hot buffalo tenders, highly recommend) because I really did enjoy almost everything on the menu. Can't wait to get back there on my next trip to Winston!

It isn’t pretty to look at, but the food was surprisingly good. The owner was very friendly and hung out at our table and talked with us. I was surprised at the price of the steaks, so I didn’t try one, but after eating the salmon salad and enjoying it, I’d be willing to try the steak

050523 enjoyed the teriyaki chicked philly sub, however the homemade thick potato chips were soggy.

Establishment is on the dirty side and our server had no personality. Food was Good and friendly atmosphere. Great location to grab a bite to eat or a drink prior to a Wake Forest event. I ordered the Dagwood sandwich with Onion Rings. Not sure if I'll return or not.

I visited this restaurant this past weekend for the first time. I was amazed with the burger I had. It definitely made my list of the best burgers in Winston-Salem. The fries were great too. The service was also good! I definitely recommend.

I went with my nephew because he eats here several times a week and bragged on the place. I have to admit that the steak-n-cheese sub and fries were delicious. It was hot and fresh and the guys that work there are the sweetest. I'll definitely be back.

Had the prime ribeye. Very tasty, and came with an excellent salad and generous portion of vegetables.

Absolutely recommend. Ribeye is awesome. Cooked on point. Chips freshly made and the Gorgonzila salad is delicious.

Didn't have a chance to dine in; packed on a Tuesday. Ordered the garlic cheeseburger with cheddar and Tots. Perfectly cooked Tots. Burger was cooked well done but still good.
