If I could give it less than one star, I definitely would. Let’s start with the pool being closed, which we could have lived with, even though it was a big reason we booked here. Secondly, it’s just dirty and dilapidated. The hallways are poorly lit by flickering lights, carpet is disgusting (at best), and there are soft spots all throughout. Scary. Moving along, the front desk will not answer the phone. Breakfast is apparently only Monday and Friday. We booked an extra room for our family to stay in (2 adults and 3 kids), which we confirmed was a 2 queen room, and we’re given a king room. When I approached the agent at the desk I was told “that’s all we have” and not offered any alternative or resolution at all. There was mold and mildew all in the showers, the air conditioner was barely hanging on, and there are only ice machines on the first and third floors. NOTHING about this hotel deserves more than one star. We actually left after one night because we didn’t want to endure another. Will never return to this place and wouldn’t suggest that anyone else stay there either!

The receptionist was friendly and helpful, and that is where the niceties end. This hotel is unsanitary! Do not stay here! There was mildew on the bottom of our shower curtain and a ring around the toilet bowl. Beds were lumpy, and there was hair on one of the pillows. The carpet was stained. The curtains were ripped and hanging away from the window, and so much more. Do yourself a favor. PLEASE 🙏🏽 🙏🏽 🙏🏽 DO. NOT. stay here.

From check-in to check-out, this was one of the worst hotel experiences. Due to heavy traffic on 95, we stopped to rest, was planning to stop in North Carolina. 6 of us including 2 children, we were placed in a room with 1 queen bed and a pullout couch before the girl at the front desk changed the room to accommodate 6 people. Everything was filthy and smelled pretty bad.. We found a bug in the pullout bed and a baby cockroach in the bathtub. We all slept in our clothes and on top of the bedding. I should've kept looking before we stopped. Pics online are not true. The worst part is that we were charged $200 twice!!!!! They don't answer the phone either!!! Filthy place and we got robbed!!! I gave 1 star because zero is not an option!!

Check in/out was perfect. Room was musty smelling, shower dripped all night, tv didn’t work at first, floor is nasty. Gym equipment didn’t work or parts were missing/broken, breakfast was less than good scrambled eggs were watery, the protein was cold , potatoes were mushy ,, hard boiled eggs were extremely hard. Coffee and oranges were on point “ community bathroom” in hall seemed it wasn’t cleaned for a few days.

Overall condition of hotel and rooms have deteriorated since last time we stayed here. Seems to be the pattern, as one in Florence the same.( That one we had to change rooms 3 times as TV's didn't work. Breakfast offered was cold and very limited. Dining room dirty, trash overflowing. ) Carpets filthy, hallways and elevator smelled. Strip on door coming off, light in bathroom didn't work. Wonder how clean bathroom was, seeing housekeepers had no light. Maintenance did come up and instead of changing bulb, told us to turn it on twice and it would work. Person at front desk very friendly. We will not be staying at Country Inn and Suites anymore. Many new hotels to choose from.

Stayed at this hotel in Emporia for one night on 5/20/22 and pulled down the blankets and found live bugs. Took pictures and went to the desk where they informed that no one could put clean sheets on the bed and we would have to move. I took the sheets and made the bed ourselves. Was told the next morning that a manager would contact me and no one ever did. And if get a response telling me they're sorry that they didn't meet my expectations and hope they'll do better next time, I'm reporting them to the Better Business Bureau

We checked in and the young lady at the desk was very nice. Then we went to our room. The bed liner was bunched up under the sheet and the sheets looked like someone had slept on them. The floor was sticky and carpet nasty. There was a booger stuck to the wall next to the bed. Around the tub was mold and caulking that looked like a 1st graders finger paint art. We were moved to another room. The new room was a little better, only thing it was still nasty. The sheets did NOT look slept in. Overall very nasty. Need to replace sheets if they are stained and towels when torn. Also REALLY need to do a better job cleaning these rooms. Very sad.

Meh. Tired. First assigned room had been smoked in. Hall carpets stained. Pillows miniscule. Bed comforter thin. Shower luke warm at best. Hole worn in bath mat. Needs a complete rehab.

Several times while we are taking a break from our trip to Myrtle Beach, we have stayed here. The rooms are clean and the staff is always courteous. It's also difficult to top the free breakfast they offer and the kind attitude of the kitchen crew. We will most certainly come back later.

I was really afraid of making a reservation after I read about several bad reviews. But, this is on the way back to home so that I tried one night for a stop. It was fair to me to spend one night! Excellent location with indoor pool( unheated). Walmart was just crossed the road.

The help was very nice and friendly. The room was clean. The bed was very uncomfortable. The pillows were flat as a pancake. The breakfast was... well let's just say go enjoy breakfast elsewhere. For a Radisson, I expected a better experience.

The room needed painted as walls were chipped. A curtain was torn, carpet was dirty, sheets were discolored. This hotel needs some major upgrading. Pool is small and cloudy. Vending machine was out of order. The cracker barrel next door had no help and after waiting over an hour there for food with no prospects of getting our food we left. At 8:00 pm all other food options in the surrounding area were closed. Not recommended to stop in Emporia if traveling I95.

This wasn't exactly my favorite stay in a hotel. The first room we were sent to still had towels laying around and water bottles from the previous guest. The guest clerk put us in another room when I explained, but the second one was not as good as I've been in before. The floor 'felt' dirty and the room smelled bad. The window faced a highway and it was loud. Fortunately, we just need to lay our heads for the night.

Employees were great, the room was tired, loose toilet & fixtures in bathroom sink. Tub stopper would not stay down. The carpet had a sticky plastic wrapper on the floor covered by a trash can. The continental breakfast was really poor.

This place was terrible. It was dirty!!!! Hair on the floor, in the shower, and in the bed. There were blood stains on the blankets, dirty rugs, and lobby bathroom was unclean with no soap. The gym had one out of 4 working machines, internet did not work, and tv was spotty. No one asked us how our stay was when checking out. You can get a cheaper place with the same issues. I paid more thinking it would be cleaner. The only good thing was the woman working the breakfast room she was pleasant and kept things clean. I do not recommend staying here. Also we paid $141.00

Where do I start... Initial room had 0 seating. Moved to a suite for same price. Room had definitely not been vacuumed. No wash cloths, no caffeine coffee. No condiments. I asked for housekeeping to bring a vacuum 😐. They didn't vacuum but left me a vacuum that had no electric cord. Although I left my dog in a kennel in the room (I know I wasn't supposed to) the staff was at the door making him bark. When approached by the staff, I was not pleased with the attitude of the desk clerk. Now...I left the hotel with my receipt showing I paid for my room. Next day I get confirmation emails and notices. What? WHY? I was charged with our sisters room since I booked the 2 rooms at the same time. They used their credit card at check in. NOW...I have been trying for days by messages with the desk and email with no response 😒 Would I ever stay here again or recommend to anyone? ABSOLUTELY NOT 💯

Checked in late at night, and was helped immediately by the friendly staff. The price was right, location was fine, and availability was there. That's all the positives... Walking down the second floor was a harrowing experience in itself. The floors may be rotting away, there are multiple large soft spots so it feels like walking on carpet covering wood then a random step in mud. The smell is standard "mopped carpet in an abandoned cellar." Every surface is soiled- the walls, floors, ceiling. The room was equally unclean, especially the bed. The sheets were stained and had a strong body odor emanating from it. There was also hair and stains on the pillows. Both windows were open and the drapes stunk, probably mildew, and had water stains all over them. Another reviewer mentioned the lingering odor of an older woman who smokes and wears perfume; a spot on description. I checked out immediately and went to a place with honest reviews.

The hotel itself is pretty nice. The rooms are spacious and beds are comfy. The room did smell a bit strange & like an old lady who smoked but wore perfume to cover it up, but it was not a super pungent smell. The free breakfast was nice and the location is nice! Tons of stores and food places nearby

Let me start off by saying this review is more for the owners of the establishment - not the staff. The staff was wonderful and so kind - especially the lady who ran the breakfast bar! The entire place just feels like a hospital/prison since it’s walls are the same colors as the floors. My room had no fire detector in the master bedroom. The pillows are the size of throw pillows on a couch. I actually stayed at another Country Inn in Virginia and it was wonderful, so I was really disappointed with this stay overall. The staff was the only part of the experience that was enjoyable.

The front desk personnel is always so hospitable and make you feel at home. The rooms are always cleaned to perfection. They remember you by name. A GREAT place to stay whether for a night or couple of days. Breakfast is always good. Except this time because they had a new person.

Made our reservations through Booking.com, it was easily done through the app. Check-in was quick, the hotel is pet-friendly with a minimal fee. Breakfast was not provided due to the situation. Good value for our money as we got an upgrade.

PLEASE do NOT stay here. You’re better off sleeping in your car. If I could give it 0 stars I would. The website is misleading. There is NO hot breakfast, the wifi was out, the pool was closed and it looked dirty. I was assigned to three different rooms before I even got to a decent room. On the 2nd floor it felt like I was about to fall in the floor. The mattress is worn out & bumpy. There are bed bugs. There was no toilet paper. It’s no way this is a Radisson Hotel. You’re better off staying at the Motel 6. The ONLY good thing about this stay was how pleasant the young lady was at the front desk. I even left her a tip and a book. PLEASE don’t stay here. Take your money elsewhere.

No breakfast- ran out of food for their guests half way through the meal period! The pool was closed ! All reasons why we stayed here! Lock was broken on our door as well. Place needs work. It was clean and in a good location but overall we were disappointed and felt like we were ripped off!

The advertising for this hotel combined with the expensive price point made me think this would a luxurious night stay as I traveled through the area but it was far from it. Upon arrival I was greeted by a checkin line literally out the door. They were so backed up checking in, I waited over 30 minutes to get my keys. On a positive note, the young girl who checked me in was very nice and helpful. She was the only helpful staff member. The room itself was dirty, poorly furnished, and many of the lights did not work. The bathroom contained signs of water damage, and there was trash left in the fridge from a previous guest that the cleaning crew had missed. The sheets on the bed were stained and did not look very clean. The hotel floor in the hallways was uneven and even had a hole in one spot. During my stay I found that internet was broken and the guest laundry machines were broken. When I spoke to the staff I was told “it was just the way it is” and there was nothing they could do. Some of the staff was also very rude and hard to communicate with.
