I've been coming here for more than a decade. The coffee has always been excellent, the sushi is great, and the staff is awesome. Easily a defining culinary institution of Southeast Greensboro. Toshi's personal story is outlined in a News and Record article encased on the wall. I will forever skip the Starbucks and Harris teeter sushi next store and dine with Toshi.

Great place to hang out and grab a bite to eat, drink coffee, and play games. They have sandwiches, sushi, and breakfast all day! Their coffee is very good and they even offer lattes and tea. They have a huge snack area with some unique and homemade items. They have Nintendo games as well as anime. The staff is very courteous and helpful.

"A giant among the hidden gems I've stumbled upon" I've been told about Toshi's recently by a friend. Which is pretty common in terms of true gems, that their information isn't passed around on cards or inadvertent ads that annoy you on the day to day. Toshi's is the kind of place that you only tell the closest of friends about. The ones that won't disturb it's peaceful atmosphere. It's the kind of place where you want to go with a close friend or loved one and have a place to settle down and let the day to day melt away from your body just on the entrance alone. Upon going in, I was greeted by the Owner themselves and was able to find out that they had been in operations for 10 years which truly bewildered me considering Greensboro is my standard stomping grounds for finding places but alas, I guess this was the right time lol. I also looked just to the left of the counter and was able to find Kewpie Mayo, Bulldog Tomkatsu sauce, and some rice seasonings among the galore of other items that were featured such as sweets, spices, varying ramen styles, and drinks! Afterwards I went back to the counter and looked at the menu and went with the California Crunch. Which is pretty much a California roll with some spicy mayo and crunchy bits on it and it was just astounding the flavor and love that went into these little bites of heaven! Also grabbed an Asahi "super dry" because why the heck not lol; They're delicious and was also gifted a small doughnut that truly wasn't overpowering and coupled well with the flavors on my plate and in my bottle. While Toshi's has a quiet atmosphere, it's humbling and honestly just one of the very definitions of vibe and aesthetic. Especially considering the MASSIVE Manga collection on the wall as well as the SNES classic set up for customers to be able to enjoy themselves with. Hopefully, if you're lost or need an atmosphere where you can just think coupled with delicious food, service, and amenities, take a hop to Toshi's and see what the quiet rage is all about. I'll be back soon with my significant other and look forward to her first experience here. And hopefully I'll get to thank Toshi again for the delicious experience.

Cozy atmosphere and super kind staff. The food was the best sushi I have had in Greensboro, I’m mad at myself for not coming here before I did. I hope your business continues to grow. I can’t wait to come back!!

We randomly wanted some sushi and decided to try Toshis Cafe based the online reviews and they definitely lived up to their reputation. We had the Crab Supreme, Katie's Delight, Fried Gyoza, Macaroni Salad, Chai tea latte and their organic coffee. EVERYTHING was delicious and the service was wonderful. They have outdoor seating that's comfortable and clean. Would highly recommend this place and all of the items that were mentioned above!

This is such a cute little place. Beautiful interior. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I ordered couple of things and they were all delicious. The sushi tasted fresh. Salmon on bagel was great too except the bagel. it was a bit too hard to bite. Overall a great experience and i will definitely be going back. I loved their outdoor seating.

I love the katie delight’ sushi. I had ordered omelets and they made it great. And the cappuccinos are great. Best in town. Love it. 100%.

Had the best experience today and am devastated we had not been prior! My husband, son and I enjoyed some absolutely delicious sushi and steam buns today! My husband is Japanese and we have not been pleased with most sushi establishments in the area! We typically drive to big cities for good sushi, and now, we don’t have to! This was so good! Thankful we found it!

My favorite sushi place and local cafe in general! Toshi’s has such a pleasant atmosphere, a super friendly and generous staff, and an extensive and flavorful menu. I recommend the avocado maki roll. I also would suggest the funky monkey smoothie. The location is a bit secluded, but those who are lucky enough to find this hidden gem will definitely be pleased!

Love this cafe! Toshi and his family and staff are the best in my opinion! I like the food I've ordered there and smoothies are some of the best hands down!! They also have a little nook for other items, snacks, books to read, other drinks not made to order. Just overall really cozy and warm and adorable!

Literally the best fast place in the whole triad to stop for sushi and delicious drinks! I'm obsessed with the garden roll and the green tea smoothie is gas. My husband loves the chicken cutlette wrap and mocha and highly recommends those. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is relaxing 🤩

me and my friends always come here together. its such a chill cafe. there are so many cute things like manga, snacks, videogames, and even cool stationary things to purchase. i love the variety of food that there is. my go to order is a crab supreme with a berry moose and a unsweet green tea. smoothies here are pretty good too, i try to taste a new one every time i go.

I frequently visit this Japanese-style cafe and I have to say it was a delightful experience. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the decor is authentic and well-crafted. But what really made my visit special was the hospitality of the owner, who was present during my visit and made sure that everything was perfect. The menu is full of delicious options, from traditional Japanese dishes to cozy breakfast choices that were all executed perfectly. The quality of the ingredients was evident in every dish, and the flavors were bold and delicious. As someone who appreciates the importance of supporting small businesses, I am happy to say that this cafe is a gem worth supporting. The owner is clearly passionate about their business, and it shows in every aspect of the experience. I encourage anyone looking for a unique and tasty dining experience to visit this cafe.

Toshi's Cafe is a wonderful little spot with excellent food and very friendly staff. I ordered the katsu-don and it was quite flavorful. My sister had the bento box, and each piece from it (she let me sample them) was delicious. The chicken in particular had an amazing flavor and was quite juicy. The restaurant had a very relaxed atmosphere and I appreciated the manga that were displayed on the wall. I will say that if you plan on reading the manga, be aware of the fact that these are Japanese prints so you have to be able to read hiragana and some kanji to enjoy them. I will definitely be back again to sample other things from their menu.

The theme is awesome and the fact that you can grab your favorite manga and grab a bite to eat is a great concept! But as for the food, it could be better. I had their ramen. At first glance, it's presentation was good , but as I actually dug into the food , just lack of flavor or seasoning in the broth and the noodles were over cooked. As for their pork buns, they were pretty good. Overall just think they should review their menu items . And see if it's worth selling the ramen at all, since you only have one flavor. Bland.

Looking for new breakfast spot and amazed to see a sushi place pop up highly rated!! Bottom line, loved it! Owner operated with warm, family feel. Ordered french toast and salmon bagel at our table. Toshi gave us free hot donuts... delicious!! This restaurant tries hard to meet community tastes with broad menu. Lots of desserts including tiramisu. We will be back soon to try sushi, rice bowls, pork buns. This will be a regular haunt for us going forward.

Came here out of curiosity and the visit was well worth it. Having been to Japan I was surprised to find out how perfect their takoyaki was, crunchy, fluffy and not chewy. We also tried a rice bowl and sushi roll, both delicious! Cute little place!

I have a severe soy allergy but have always wanted to try sushi. For the past two years I have gotten coffee from this place and it has always been so tasty. My favorite are the lavender lattes. Today I decided to ask the owner about soy free options and if it was safe for me to eat. He assured me of soy free options, prepared my order aside from the kitchen, and made me feel safe. The salmon maki roll is my new favorite order! This place is so homey and the staff are the sweetest ever. The food, coffee, and service here is amazing. Most importantly, he tended to my allergen needs and did not make me feel like an inconvenience. I honestly wanted to cry I was so happy and grateful. If you are looking for an authentic homey sushi/cafe this is no. 1 on my list!!

Had a great first experience at Toshi’s Cafe. We tried crab supreme roll which is a generous portion that my bf and I split. The pork buns were great but I do wish it was shredded meat. We also got the premade cheesecake and a green tea bread which were both amazing. The experience, service, and food was great. Definitely excited to have found a cute small business restaurant here in Greensboro!

Overall I would rate the place as a B+. The items they did well were the pork buns, the pork fried dumplings, and if you are into octopus, the octopus balls. I tried the octopus for the first time and while I am personally not a fan I can see how someone who enjoyed octopus might really enjoy them. They were crunchy and chewy on the outside and creamy in the middle. The octopus was chewy and a little too fishy for me. The fried dumplings were excellent! The pork had good flavor and they were cooked perfectly. The sauce the accompanied them was truly delicious. The pork buns were soft and doughy and the pork inside was insanely delicious. As for the sushi. It was a bit bland. For the price, you are probably better off going somewhere else. I had the rainbow roll and the salmon maki. The salmon was really too fishy. I do believe they serve real wasabi, however, I can’t confirm. Overall, we probably won’t be going back. The price was just too expensive and it’s pretty far from home. The little shop inside with snacks was adorable but a bit overpriced.

Got chicken katsu curry and hot mama. Inside is clean and staffs are friendly!!! Love the Katsu!! Juicy and crispy. Curry sauce taste awesome but a little bit thick, I was expecting running sauce like CoCo壱番屋. Overall it is a great place to get sushi and Japanese food. Love it.

Great little shop but my only complaint is that they don't include the soy sauce/wasabi/ginger in the bag when you order it, you have to remember to get it before you leave. If someone orders sushi it should be obvious that the condiments will be wanted so maybe put them in the bag with the order.

The chicken cutlet wrap was fine, could use more flavor. The chicken it self was soft and tender. Was kind of disappointed with the amount of fries they give but it is what it is.
