Beautiful section of Forrest Park, which I learned today is actually bigger than Ney York's Central Park. It's the area I'm front of the Art Museum with a statue that used to be the symbol of St Louis before they built the Gateway Arch. Nice place to sit and relax with a good view of a big water fountain.

Today is Labor Day. The Flags of Valor have returned. Over the green pastures of Art Hill wave, in a sea of red white and blue, stand this magnificent display of flags with the pictures and dog tags of our American fallen heros from all over the United States of America. Art Hill is already beautiful and well kept. There are also spectacular flowers on display. I recommend anybody who is visiting or lives here to take advantage of this wonderful place. We bring my grandson, who has autism, to Art Hill often.

I discovered this spot on my first walk in Forest Park. It is one of my favorite highlights in the park since you have a 180-degree view of the park, fountain, and sky. It's also the perfect spot for soaking in sunshine, reading a book, or having a picnic here. It is truly breathtaking. If you are done with the outdoors, there is a museum several steps away that you can check out, too.

The Emerson Grand Basin at the base of Art Hill has been one of my favorite places to visit in St Louis City. There are many connecting (flat) walking paths to enjoy along side water ways. This area appears to show the wear of use. The flower features were sparce and shrubbery overgrown. The gravel pathway was muddy and well traveled. The benches were weathered. This area was pristine when I previously visited and almost felt magical. It was so beautiful. It is still very peaceful. The water from the fountains create a very soothing atmosphere. The basin and fountains are especially beautiful at nighttime. It is still a lovely walk and a wonderful place to decompress. If you are weary and need a place to reset, find a step at the water's edge, sit, clear your thoughts, and find a moment of peace.

I went walking around Art Hill last night after work. It's always a nice sight to see...people picnicking, flying kites, walking their dogs and other fun activities on Art Hill. Standing here gives you an awesome view of the Art Museum, various sections of the golf course as well as the lake which is part of the Boathouse. I saw several paddle boats floating around the lake last night. It's a very nice, grassy area that's literally a big hill, but it's very comfy to sit and relax on. I sat down for 20 minutes to enjoy the sun and lovely weather we had yesterday. Art Hill is also a popular spot in the winter to sled down. There are two nice sized parking lots located on both ends of Art Hill. There's a paid parking lot available as part of the Art Museum. Beware that it does get crowded so be mindful that you may have to drive around a few times to find a parking spot. There's also parking on the street, but in select areas. If you plan to do walking around Art Hill do have on comfortable tennis shoes. You cannot wade in the lake here, but you can rent a paddle boat from the Boathouse to enjoy the lake. Last night there was a group having a yoga class at the foot of the lake as well. Go and enjoy! This is a spot that you don't want to miss.

I love this place year round! Always some nice event going on for free. I'm super introverted and can't stand being around too many people but when there are crowds here, I'm usually ok. I always bring my babies out and we just relax and enjoy. The summer movies were fun! Definitely looking forward to Fall and Winter!!

A must see spot in Forest Park. Great any time of the year. Love seeing people lounge, read, workout, and have picnics. A lot of people take wedding photos by the water. Also there are some fitness/yoga classes that occur here too.

One of the best spots in stl!! Come here for a picnic with friends, rent a paddle boat and take in the views, hit the art museum, or just run up and down the hill to get in your exercise! Art hill is a great spot to relax and enjoy Saint Louis at its best! It’s definitely a spot you don’t want to miss out on if you’re coming for a visit!

This is one of the most iconic spots in St. Louis. Located in Forest Park between the St. Louis Art Museum and the Grand Basin, it is a favorite spot for lounging, kite flying, people watching, and of course sledding in the winter time. It is one of those must-visit places if you are visiting St. Louis.

Art Hill in the winter is something in every St. Louisian should do. What a fantastic joy to watch the families scream down the hills and run into the hay bills at the bottom we took. We went as a family and it was absolutely incredible. Highly recommend to anybody who wants to have a good time

Love art hill! Sledding in the winter, running in the summer, and don’t forget to take a peek from the water through canoe or paddle boat!

Always a fantastic place to visit. Art Hill is quite beautiful just to relax, see a concert, or have a little picnic with the family or a loved one. I would highly recommend this place, but remember to bring a blanket or something to sit on.

Went sledding on art hill this morning. Definitely a must-do for locals as well as if you're just visiting. The hill itself is pretty fun to sled down from but the frozen lake in front and the gorgeous museum in the back make it even better!!

This is a beautiful place to stay in evening. Winter is cold but enjoyable to stay and spend some quality evening time here in a nice weather. Forest park in-front and the lake makes your eyes relaxed.

Great views in the evening. Mostly quiet at the right time. You can have small picnics there and sometimes they will have concerts. I have nothing but good memories here.

The symphony was great! We had a 10 minute rain shower so it was pretty wet in the beginning. Cool breeze after.

ONLY RATING THE HILL, not the museum EPIC!! I love it. I have a blended family and my other half is from Florida. He always gets so excited about the snow and this last storm it came down like it did when I was a kid. Couldn't pass the chance of taking him and all our kids. They lived it from three to sixteen.

This is the place in St Louis you've been waiting for. Seriously we could go two days a week for a year and you would still find cool little looks and crannies with beautiful little water scapes or stone structures

We just happened to walk thru after parking our car. My sister noticed the tree line, and she saw people walk in. Then we, too, joined, and it is a covered tree-lined path toward the Art Museum. I stood on the grass, snapping pictures. Then after visiting the museum, we were on the hunt for the car. Below we saw people on the paddle boats. As a tourist to St. Louis for the 2nd time, you guys have a lovely state. This is a place to add to your free things-to-do list.

We were privlaged to be able to see the Flags of Valor display. How breath taking. Words cannot describe the overwhelming pride and sorrow experienced at the same time. What a beautiful organization.

A great view for watching Friday night movies during the summer or viewing Forest Park during the day. We went to the 2022 film series held on Art Hill. We thought the movie for the night we went was "Bend it Like Beckham". But that had been scheduled for the following week. Instead we were treated to "Love and Basketball". It was an enjoyable feature. Both movies were part of the sports theme of the 2022 season. We plan to see the first movie next week. We packed our dinner for the evening and brought lawn chairs. As did hundreds of others. Everyone had a great time.

I try to stop here at least three or four times a week for the sunset. It's such a great place to meet with friends, or just hang out and read a book while the sun goes down. Totally beautiful!!
