The place needs rough sea conditions to create the "blowhole." While I was there, storm clouds were passing by, and the ocean had waves, but it was not strong enough to create the splashes in the blowhole. Be careful at this place. There are a lot of sharp limestone. Basically, come here to drink fresh coconut if it is what you seek. It is a good place to look at a bunch of sea urchins and sea snails in the tidal pools. I saw so many disappointed tourists that stopped by as I was hanging around for a bit, waiting for that splash.

Cool rock formations with ages of erosion creating the perfect opportunities for blow holes. Great photo opportunities as well as a place to take in the vastness and power of the water. Wearing good shoes is definitely helpful for safety in maneuvering the terrain.

Great pull off to watch these blow holes, when the waves come rushing in the water gets trapped in these holes and shoot up mist that resemble the blow hole on a whale. Very interesting to see

Great views and very calming and relaxing. Free site with great photo opportunities. You could spend 15-20 minutes walking around and enjoying the peace and quiet. You have to climb down a staircase, so those with disabilities may only observe from above on the side of the road along the shoulder.

Great mini stop along the way to tourist destinations in Grand Cayman. Once the tide is high you’ll be able to experience some amazing sights of water hitting the blowholes, great picturesque location and there’s also rocks nearby that you can stack for fun.

Chill attraction! Not really worth going to it unless you're passing by. On street parking.

One of a kind view Great drive out to the East End sea side to watch the blow holes. Do note there are no restaurants, toilets or shops at the location should you need any of those. However, 10 minutes and your in the East End town area. Also be very careful when parking your vehicle on the road side as it is a 50 miles zone. A must do visit should you visit the 345. Got to love the 345 ❀️.

An awesome experience. Be careful though the blow holes go off without any warning and if you are daring enough you can get right down to them. The water was rough and would not be the nicest if you were to fall in.

Really cool stop on the road. Doesn't take long to see. Water shoes are helpful because the rocks are jagged in spots.

Is a fun place to stop. The blowholes are better at mid to high tide but can be observed at low tides. (You will just have to wait a bit longer to see a big wave make the blowhole burst water) you can fly drones here though it can get windy. Bring solid shoes if you are going to walk on the rocks as they seemed to be sharp. There are NO provisions for wheelchairs.

Nice place would give 5 stars if the trash was picked up. Of course this is a problem all over the island.

This was really interesting. I went more than once. It is best to go at high tide. Not sure if the time of year has an effect or not? The first time was low tide and we didn't see it.

Nothing much to see. Few blowholes to watch where you can feel air gushing out from rocks when wave comes and hits the rocks.

When we went the waves weren't very high and not that impressive but it was still cool to stop!

I make the drive out to see The Blowholes every time I'm in Cayman. I especially enjoy taking people for their first time.

We thought it was pretty cool and worth the stop. If you can catch it during high tide and an angry sea it'll be spectacular. This photo is during low tide on a mild day. Still cool and worth the stop. The family across the street offer cocanut water and mangos. Sometimes other fruits and stuff. Totally worth the stop!

Not worth the detour. Cool to see but not really anything mind blowing. Wouldn’t waste my time.

It's worth a look if you're passing. Depends on the swell, how good it is.

A must see. It is a quick stop on the side of the road. We enjoyed watching the water explode out of the hole. You could easily miss it. The sign is on the opposite side of the road.

Cool little strip of rocky beach with blowholes. How impressive the blowholes are depends on the tide and ocean at that particular moment. We had a good time finding hermit crabs and exploring tide pools in addition to watching the blowholes.

Great place to visit. Make sure you visit when the water is choppy or when a storm is coming in. It’s needed to get good blows.

Cool quick stop when checking out the east end. Watch the water spout up through the blowholes.

If you go wear good shoes or water shoes. You have to hit it right with the tides. Across the street is a farm stand where a woman sells coconuts & trinkets. She's skilled with a machete & opens the coconut πŸ₯₯ to drink & eat πŸ˜‹

Quick stop on our grand circle tour around the island. Time the waves correctly and you can get a lovely shower. Walk down the stairs, and make sure to wear shoes. It is very jagged ironshore.

A great, quick stop to see the blowholes. It was fun to watch!

A must see on the island. Probably best viewed on latter part of incoming tides. Small spot with a small sign so be on the lookout. Looks like a small stand on side of the road that was closed when we there. Park on side of road with stand, or opposite side from the water. Cross the road carefully and a short walk to holes but can photograph from a distance. If you go to holes make sure you have water shoes or good shoes for slippery rocks. You can get close to holes just be aware some blows may be shallow but the possibility for a big wave, big blow and getting wet. A great free attraction you need to visit.

This is a public place, right by the side of the road. Access is not controlled and it is free. Maybe it had to do with the tide, but when I went, around noon, there was only ONE blowhole "working". It is cool to see, but not worth a big detour. If it is on your way, stop to watch it. You will probably spend 10 to 15 minutes.

  • 4/5 Rawss L. 2 years ago on Google
There's a smaller blow hole that makes interesting noises to the left of the main one. Wear good shoes, not flippy floppies!

Very much worth pulling off on the side of the road to check out, especially if it isn't very busy with tourists. The Ironshore is aptly named, feels like you're walking on iron and not jagged rocks. Shoes needed, flip-flops work if you're careful about where you step. The blow hole itself is beautiful, reminds of a much more regular and diminutive geyser. I imagine for most people, 5-20 mins is probably all that's necessary.

Works of nature are a real blast! This beautiful rocky landsacpe bursts with excitement. Very cool to see this natural wonder. Among the area is also a ptetty neat "Rock Cairns" garden. Not sure if theyve been placed by locals, tourists, or both.

Had to stop by here three times before we were able to catch the tide at the right time to hit the blowholes. In this case, it was at sunset in mid-January. Great views. Rocky iron-shore so caution needed and good shoes. The tidal pools offer lots of views of urchins and hermit crabs. Also, lots of inukshuks (rock towers) seen here too

If a chunk of Mars landed on earth. A great photo opportunity. There are 2 holes that blow sea water like a geyser during high tide. WATER SHOES ARE A MUST!

  • 5/5 Jason O. 1 year ago on Google
Yep, there be excited water here. Neat little side road stop to spend 5 minutes being happy to experience it before moving on. Alot of sharp rocky land. Worthy of a few snaps and sea view admiration. That's about it.

This is something I have never seen, and I grew up near the coast. Every time a big wave comes in, the blowholes spit a jet of water up into the air. If you're close enough, you'll fee the mist, and it feels great. There are a lot of cool rocks around.

Cool fossils on the Cayman Islands and some interesting lava and rock formations. Stopped there on the way to Tukka's restaurant for some photos of the blowholes spewing water out of the lava tubes .

  • 5/5 L C. 2 years ago on Google
Awesome view. Awesome place to take photos. Bring appropriate footwear as the rocks can be sharp. Watch out, the waves are quite strong.

Nice, pretty view, small area but worth the stop to see. Just be careful of the jagged rocks!

  • 4/5 Sara H. 1 year ago on Google
It was pretty cool to see it. Unfortunately, a silly, half-naked woman endangering herself almost completely ruined my enjoyment of the site.
