Not what it used to be. Initially, at first look this shopping centre seems bright and cheerful. The open stores keep their spaces clean and inviting. But there is either refurbishment happening, or a lack of money going into Australia Fair. Many areas are boarded off, shops are closed on a busy trading day, the roof leaks without any rain, and cleaning is not being maintained. A great place to do your weekly food shopping, but most other stores are struggling. The food court is limited and mostly junk food. There is a real lack of toilets for a centre this size: only 3 bathrooms and 1 disabled toilet!! Disgusting and very filthy during our visit. Lack of disabled parking spaces is also an issue. Long past it's prime.

A not-too-big shopping centre that is clean and has a good range of shops and entertainment including cinema and arcade shop and also play areas for the little children too. First three hours carpark are free.

Big shop opposite broadwater parkland, connect with Chinatown. Just 5m walk from the tram, really easy and convenient. Should go when visiting Gold Coast

Big shopping centre, but facilities are bit old! Need to do full decorating for the shops and visitors. Like Macquarie shopping centre in Sydney (next to MQ university) After full renewal, more shoppers and more big brand stores open their store there.

A highly underrated shopping center. It is smaller but that can mean more efficient shopping, more available parking, and more available seats at a cheaper cinema. The food across the center at China Town Southport is some of the best on the Gold Coast. There is a gem at Australia fair that exists no other place in Queensland. The vien bakery at Australia Fair makes the best Vietnamese Baguette (Banh Mi) I have eaten in all of Australia. Don't believe me? Go try it!

A nice shopping centre, with many shops, easy to do grocery shopping or to do shopping for some nice things, also some nice restaurants and some great shops to buy fresh fruit and vegetables.

Shops are shops, right? Lovely place with plenty of chillout spaces. Food court was so so and prices were reasonably expensive. The kid in me wants the fun of the 'fishing village' vibe that the old place had, but it was tired and in need of an update. The new feel is highly curated and sterile. Worth a visit.

Review of Hair Plus at Australia Fair. I went in for a hair cut this morning. I have quite short hair and was constantly told during the cut today that I had very thick hair. I have attended this salon for more than 2 years and usually have a hairdresser named Chilla. She is currently away so another lady cut my hair today. The last time I had a cut was only 2 months ago. At that time I was charged $35.00 but was told that the price was going up. Today at the conclusion of the hair cut I was told it was $55.00 and that was because I had left it so long between cuts and my hair had grown so much that it required more attention. I was there because I wanted a hair cut because my hair had grown. As I said, I have very short. white hair and each time I have it cut it is always short. Why would I be charged and extra $20 BECAUSE MY HAIR HAD GROWN. I was also told that if I come in sooner next time it will not be as much. I could not believe the price rise, just because MY HAIR HAD GROWN. The woman that cut it this morning was so arrogant. If I had known that it was going to cost $55.,00 I would have walked away. I was stunned to be told the price and then to be given the excuse that it was because my hair had grown. Considering that my hair is always worn short, what I had today was only a trim. It was the same style I always wear. It was not even a new style. My hair is too short for a change of style. Just a trim.

There are a large variety of shops at the Australia Fair Shopping Centre with Woollies and Coles and lots of specialty shops. There are a number of toilet facilities and they are well looked after. The food court has a variety of cafes to eat from.

Great mall with variety of shops but was very disappointed by Santa Claus workshop today. Of course lines was huge and I stayed for more than 1 hour and when I reached they didn’t let me take 5 sec video for social media with Santa due to “company policy”, but they been letting families spent for 5 minutes talking to Santa. I said that I am okey without photos, just 5 sec video. Very rude not letting to do it in Christmas after staying in the line for that long. Disappointed by the organization

Despite over the years many businesses coming & going along with alot of upgrading/building,this is 1:of the most successful & longest withstanding the area on the Gold Coast for local shopping options. The Pacific hotel's probably the best done up business in there as their new menu's amazing!! The security guards I've always found approachable & very helpful too. The centre management also gets my praise. Easy access to public transport & cabs from here as well. Parking fantastic deals but that was awhile ago I went through accessing it but given this it sounds so much better than other business cat parks as of the affordability & reasonable price.

I have seen this place develop from the very beginning. Southport has sort of grown around it. It's an iconic Gold Coast retail destination. There looks to be some renewal going on. 35 years ago it was a gleaming must-see destination. Looking a bit tired in parts. The freshen up will do wonders. It is still somewhat of an anchor for the local community. It had more of a village atmosphere which was delightful to see. There is lots to see and experience in Southport. If your journey starts at Australia Fair, you're off to a good start!!

Once a Great variety of shops now not so. Feels like the centre management have let the place go. Admittedly it is 9pm on saturday, but kids coughing all o er public seating near coles amid COVID i think centre management need to take public safety and the standard of hygene seriously. It ia hard enough for everyone. Very disappointing. But alas still have 3 hour free parking. At least so at least the car doesn't get stolen broken into there's that to look forward to. Eatery doesn't feel safe with all the gangs of youths lurking around and detracting from the views from eatery of the harbour. General cleanliness has taken a nosedive. I set in the children coughed seats for over 15 minutes not an attendant to be seen.

This entire place needs an upgrade and makeover because it's not always Clean. The takeaway food area needs to be much more covid prepared. Some of the bain-maries in the takeaway food section are potential covid superspreader hotspots and should be monitored by health inspectors. There should be screens to protect the food from the self serving customers who are permitted to linger far too close to the open food trays. Also the 3 hour parking limit is barely enough to do your supermarket shopping, and attend the medical clinic. Forget the hairdresser or the podiatrist unless you're prepared to pay for parking. If the stores want your business they should introduce a parking validation system.

The shopping centre is above average and just needs a bit of tender loving care. This is an old shopping centre and upgrades are a planned or in progress. Beware of some of the lifts that do not fully align before the doors open - they can be tripping hazard. EV chargers are currently free at the moment which is great if you have an EV. EDIT: chargers are no longer free.

I like this place and know my way around it, can always get a park and parking for 3 hours is free. You can also easily park here and walk across the road safely to the kids park., Water slides etc. Food courts all in one place and has a good variety, shops are great and because it's classified as a tourist location the bargains! Especially Kmart so much cheaper than my area and so much more stock.

Usually good place to shop ,currently under renovations, very little options in food court as most of it is closed, this place hasn't changed alot since the 80s so it will be a refreshing change when Reno's are finished.

've been a regular at Australia Fair Shopping Centre for years and it's been amazing to see its transformation. The renovations are really bringing a fresh vibe to the place, making it more modern and inviting. It's exciting to see the Centre growing and evolving, offering more options and experiences for shoppers. The improvements are definitely enhancing the overall shopping experience. Can't wait to see the final outcome of all the upgrades!

Aus Fair has all the basics. Jbhifi, Kmart, Coles and Woolies. Is continually being refreshed and is getting a great asian dining scene. Probably just needs an Aldi and a Big W.

It is always easy to go to AusFair. I enjoy parking above Choice. I once lost my parking ticket and it was very easy to call for assistance and they just sent me off. The overall experience is great and always enjoyable. If you collect pens, they have an amazing pen shop on the second floor. They are worth the visit

We have a few places we like to check out every now and then but I strongly suggest they put in an inside play area for toddlers seeing as so many single parents shop here and it would be quite nice to see them all have a place to relax and network with other parents esp if its raining

Place is fairly run down, the exterior needs a bit of a freshen up, car park not really good if you own a lifted 4x4, so be careful if u venture out and want to park in the undercover car park, we had to park over the road next to all the homeless people. The best shop in there would have to be toyworld for sure. But as in a shopping centre it has everything you need.

It's old but not bad after renovations. The food court is thin and cramped vs others but is acceptable. The variety in stores is also lacking. That said, it's in a very convenient location and would be a bit more lively without covid. It suffices as a local shopping centre + jbhifi.

  • 2/5 Tash P. 3 years ago on Google
This was my local shopping centre for a few years and the shops inside are good. There are enough food options to be satisfying and a handful of clothing shops with great prices. Though I think the main reason people pop in here is Coles, Woolworths and Kmart. It’s just a shame that there are so many homeless camping outside one of the entrances. On one occasion where was an unresponsive man on drugs laying, passed out just a few metres from the doorway. No one did a thing? Even the shop owner with a direct view of this just dismissed it as normal. Such a shame when right over the road is so family friendly.

  • 3/5 May D. 3 years ago on Google
It’s a rundown shopping centre. I visited when it’s raining and they got buckets and sign everywhere for water leaking. Parking is shocking in term of layout and traffic management in there. Selection of shops are ok. Not really for leisure visit but good enough for essential needs.

While Australia Fair has some great shops and some wonderful eateries. In general it does feel slightly old and needs a bit of a renovation. A disgrace and bordering ongoing a hazardous place to visit. Just about all of the escalators are out of order, some for months. It means you have to navigate a very dangerous route back to some car parks, particularly if you have to navigate with a trolley. Worksafe should investigate. I now shop at Sthport Park, they also have Aldi.

Not sure why we ended up in a shopping centre while traveling in Gold Coast and shopping was not necessary on our mind. However, it was a pleasant experience. The centre takes a huge amount of real estate. Walking thought the entire centre can easily meet your steps goal for the day. It mostly have no more than two levels with very high ceilings. And there are a lot of open spaces so despite the overwhelming amount of shops there's never a boxed in feeling. If you are visiting Gold Coast make sure to check out some local brands. There are also ones from nearby Byron Bay. Big names are also dotted around the centre. Unlike most shopping centres around east coast, there are several concentrations of food outlets, thanks to all the space. Make sure to look around before settle down for a meal.

Oldy but a goody! Plenty of parking for customers and a variety of shops. Cinemas are comfy, along with a pub attached which serves a great steak and ice cold beer many locals continue to shop here not just because the place is equipped with all the essential shops but also for the convenience of access to Broadwater park and also ease of parking or utilising one of the many public transportation options available in the vicinity.

Not as big or versatile as people are lead to believe. Many stores are shut meaning the retail outlets are only ever 80-90% functioning. The entrance/exit doors often have homeless people with mental illnesses screaming at people which can be quite frightening.

The centre is remodelling and I have to say, other then the still leaky roof it really is coming together very nicely. I love Chris McMahon Quality Eye care there on level 1 across from K-Mart. They have beautifully made and gorgeous styles of eyeglasses. Very unique and beautiful Color’s from Italy, Denmark, Austria Europe, and Japan. The glasses are warranted and they always are ready to help if any sort of issue comes come. If you have not checked them out, DO SO!! I JUST LOVE the personalised treatment you get there. They are not there to just sell glasses, they are there to get you what you need with the look you want. There is NO HIGH PRESSURE SALES TACTICS HERE. Won’t GO ANYWHERE ELSE. MY GLASSES ARE ALSO MAINTAINED BY Them MONTHLY IE: loose screws and ultrasonic cleaning. Great optometrists that really listen to your problems. I highly recommend them. Go in and have a browse. Well worth the time.

I love having many options to eat and shop, and Australia Fair is the perfect place for that. If you find Pacific Fair too confusing, Australia Fair is a great alternative. It has a fantastic food court with plenty of seating, and there’s always someone cleaning the tables and spills. You can find everything from clothing to supermarkets, as well as smaller stores like Asian grocers, pen shops, and board game stores. There’s plenty of parking available, and if you see a movie, you can scan your ticket at the gate to get free parking. Additionally, there are EV charging stations available for electric cars.

Outdated, well overdue for an update. Broken walls, Ceiling, lights missing or broken. Piped leaking in carpal *Definitely not water* Amazed it's allowed to be open in the condition it's in. Used to love coming here but no longer the go to shopping centre, plenty of others in better shape without hazards throughout. Hoping to edit in the future, once updated and less hazardous.

The shops were good but I didn't like the lunatic drug addict that screamed at me and other shoppers. It would be great if such people were removed from the mall rather than allowing them to intimidate shoppers.

Wow! It certainly had its day. I remember the fanfare of its opening. It was the place to go on a Sunday drive from Brisbane. It certainly needs an uplift. Food Court was somewhat disjointed and not collective, so a little all over the place. Such a shame.

Really convenient place to do your quick grocery. Not much interesting retail shops though. The cinema was okay. Overall the shopping centre needs an updated look and feel and I know renos are ongoing
