Small, edgy, charming café that does coffee better than almost all of the big places around Gold Coast. The current cold brew is highly recommended - a Guatemalan single origin rich with earthiness, woodiness, tobacco, and subtle sweetness. Also pictured is their almond croissant. Fantastic find, 100% deserving repeat visits whenever I'm in the neighborhood.

Fabulous coffee, hidden away under a staircase in a little arcade not far from Cavill Ave. This place is an absolute gem and worth hunting around for if you’re after a quality coffee. Best coffee we found in Surfers by a stretch.

I just bought a coffee. The service was great, but I found the coffee uninspiring, dark roasted but otherwise lacking flavour. I didn't try the food. They had run out of my favourite Almond Croissants. It's a cosy place in a dark back alley. Definitely not romantic nor relaxing.

A hidden place on the gold coast area where you can have a quiet and nice brekky with good coffee. The sandwich is well made and the staff is friendly. This place is located in the alley, under the staircase hence the name is Stairwell coffee.

I'm the type of guy who will discard my coffee after one sip if it is not to my liking. Some I'm a harsh critic, this one rates up there. Triple shot flat white with one sugar, was fantastic. Not burnt, nor milky and their roast is superb. The location is tucked away down a row of shops, but it is worth the venture past many other coffee shops.

Love this place. What a great Gem. We visited from Melbourne and looked this place up as it had good rating.Awesome smile from the staff. Coffee was great. Friendly vibe and such a cute spot. Dont let the vicinity fool you. We tried a cubano and a chicken cheese jaffle and it was amazing. Cant wait to go back.

A quick meander down a couple of shortcut laneways from Peppers and we were sorted for coffee and lunches - if you are staying on the beachfront it is so close and so worth it. There are no good cafes here in Surfers so we were thrilled to find this one! Great coffee, and food. We got jaffles for lunch today and they were still piping hot when we got back to Peppers. Great service from a lovely guy yesterday and very efficient and friendly lady today! Move to Melbourne… and your little cafe will fit right in!!

My friends and I are on a small weekend trip visiting and just wanted some comforting food for lunch. We absolutely loved the pesto chicken jaffle, beetroot hummus bagel and avo feta bagel! We had to come back and get more today ☺️🥰. So delicious and well worth it, plus great coffee. Thank u guys so much!!!

It was a bit difficult to find as it was in the aisle. It would be nice if it added a little sweet taste to three cheese jaffles.

A 50's blues rocker review: Well I was up on the Gold Coast looking' for a nice long black Found the Stairwell Coffee shop a little off the beaten track Down the dingy passageway they'll be waitin' for you With a warmed croissant and a top notch local brew (And that's something that the other cafes don't necessarily do.)

Stairwell coffee gets it’s name from obviously located below a staircase. It’s only a tiny kiosk, but the attention isn’t un-noticed. The colour of the shopfront is what catches your your eye when walking past or sitting at one of the restaurants. Stairwell offers nice coffee ☕️, hot and cold drinks, pastries 🥮, jaffels and bagels 🥯.

Great coffee, served fast. Delicious, simple jaffles (toasties) for $8 each. Jaffles are so underrated. These are done well, lots of flavour and no skimping on the filling.

Best coffee in the GC - Never burnt, milk is perfect (I drink soy; this can be a nightmare depending on the soy and the coffee used), staff are awesome and the food is delicious. Highly recommend! Don’t bother with anywhere else!

Fantastic coffee. A little harder to find the location, but fantastic coffee is your reward for finding it. Location somewhat on the dystopian / grunge side of things, but if you care about good coffee you won’t care about the location

Really chilled little place with fresh bagels and pastries. We got tye Avocado feta smash and the beetroot and halloumi bagels, they were both delicious. Iced latte and iced matcha were great. Really fast service, decent pricing and friendly staff too! Would definitely go back.

A good coffee spot for people who care about the taste of their coffee. Food was also good and affordable compared to other places in the area.

Thank you for the best coffee for the duration of our stay. We are from Melbourne and your coffee was perfection! The toasties and almond croissant 🥐 were also delish. Fantastic service - always with a friendly smily and happy for a chat 👍

Good coffee, and cheap as well! We had a small cappuccino with oat milk for $4,50. Also offers tasty food options. This is the kind of espresso bar you don't want to miss out on!

Delicious coffee that reminded us of the coffee we get at home in Melbourne. Staff were great - we could clearly see from their interactions with the locals that they make the effort to get to know their loyal customers. Reuben jaffle was a winner!

Amazing. Customer service was incredible, and the food was so good we came back two days in a row when we had to leave our holiday… or I think we would be there daily. Food and drinks were incredible. Staff were so lovely and helpful, went above and beyond. Avo toast, banana bread, cinnamon scroll, the pistachio raspberry scroll-thing… all incredible. I couldn’t rate highly enough.

Lots of different drinks to choose from; frappes, milkshakes, coffees. Our groups tried the strawberry thick shake, coffee frappe and some iced coffees. All of them were delicious. Would definitely recommend this place for coffee. Limited food options, so we didn't eat here.

Found this amazing place for coffee at Surfer's. Well hidden little gem.

I had the cold brew and tried the flat white my partner ordered. The cold brew was not bitter and had some mild fruity notes but was overall very lacking in aroma/flavour and unfortunately a bit bland/disappointing. Not sure if I happen to get a bad batch cause my partner's flat white seemed a lot better with similar fruity notes but amplified and a fairly balanced body. Otherwise the shop and seating area is quite nice and the staff were friendly.

Tucked away in a little alley is the best coffee in surfers. Relaxed vibes, good people and exceptional coffee will transport you away from the hustle and bustle of the main strip and bring a sense a calm. The coffee. The coffee. The coffee. Yum!

Google was right to list this tiny hole in the wall spot as #1 coffee shop on the Gold Coast! Superb coffee. Make sure you get the avocado bagel too… simply divine! A small slice of Melbourne here on the GC!

Really friendly guy who knows how to make a delicious coffee. Best coffee in Surfers Paradise! Uses a local coffee roaster as well. Definitely check them out if you're in the area!! Support small business :)

Great friendly service, awesome coffee and delish jaffles! Even have the classic spaghetti jaffle.. note : the red sauce is not tomato sauce! Learnt the hard way it is hot sauce 🥵

Delicious coffee in an unsuspecting location. We did an early coffee run and we’re delighted by the coffee and pastries we had. I only wish we would have found this place earlier in our stay so we could have visited more times!
