Honestly I haven’t been there, but I’m a little bit sad after I had a conversation with one trainer this afternoon. I don’t know if you encourage your trainers to talk to strangers on the street, but I think this is not the best idea, you should make sure that your trainers are more educated or at least try not to comment over other people’s body without them asking. I was working today in a mall and one of your trainers approached me, and started talking about joining the gym. He asked me about my goals, when was the last time I worked out, if I wanted to weight 120 pounds and stuff like that, even show me pictures of his weight lost journey. I told him that I work out every day, that I’m very happy with my body and that I workout because I want to be strong. Then he said that it was good and that I now could work on not getting hypertension or diabetes. I honestly don’t think he might have a bad intention but this is not the way to approach people to make them go to the gym, believe it or not people have a mirrors in their houses and if I was unhappy with what I see, maybe I’d be there. This is literally the reason why I don’t go to the gym, I don’t want the trainer to judged me only because I’m chubby, like if this was a bad thing, or if only because of that I’m sick. You guys should do better and be more respectful over people, mind your business and maybe help people who’s actually there asking for help, instead of harassing people who’s just living their life and trying to go through the day.

I have multi-club membership and often bounce around due to travel and work. I visited this gym and was greeted by a very friendly and upbeat young man. However, he noticed me looking at the pool. It was full and I was evaluating going somewhere else. He assured me that the coach running the majority of the lanes in the pool was very good about sharing with guest. Well that was exactly not what happened. After an hour of being here I still wasn’t able to get in the pool. Besides the fact that the young man who was the coach was very condescending of the people he was coaching. Further, during my 60 minutes wait for the pool I watched him sit on the phone for 25 minutes and then young men just stood in the pool waiting. This isn’t sharing the lanes and since the front desk person stated they were already here a long time it’s very unfair to guest. Wasn’t a good experience, just wanted to swim!

I am a long time member of LA Fitness and the Highland Park location is my home club. I had a very sensitive issue regarding membership and met with the Operations Manager, Zack Agard. He could not have been nicer, treated me with great care and respect, and resolved my issue very quickly. It was so refreshing to be made a priority and treated with care and while Zack is a very young guy, he clearly understands the importance of good customer. care. Thank you Zack for being a great listener and problem solver, the club is in great hands with you running it!

30+ people in this gym without masks in the middle of a pandemic

I am coming from Morton Grove to this place because is cleaner than others and not very crowded. I like the most Fatima, the cleaning lady that always is keeping the place clean and safe. Staff is very friendly and I suggest them to be more aware that some people ( not many like other La fitness).don't wear masks. Over all I am satisfied with the place.

This gym is small and the staff is intimidating, I never been to la fitness so I just wanted to try it out for a week before i sign up , and at least 10 sales men in suits We’re present like it was goldmen sacks bank lobby and they were demanding i sign up even when I had a guest pass , I felt like I was applying for a cash loan to open a football stadium in Dubai , besides that the gym is okay but planet fitness is better less stress less intimidating.

It is a good deal for the price. The exercise machines are varied, and it seems like they are doing a little better with their turn-around time of fixing anything broken. They could update their locker rooms. They frequently clean it but a face-lift is needed

I would give negative stars if possible. I purchased a 2 month membership and was wrongfully charged extra. My credit card was kept on file without my knowledge or permission, and the staff refused to delete my credit card number. Staff were polite despite being useless and refusing the process my refund when I called. They took money out of my pocket and said "whoopsie, let us call you back in a few days". I'm truly stunned.

Went in person to try and cancel my membership but was told that wasn’t possible at the time, and that I would have to mail a form in order to cancel my membership. Membership still wasn’t cancelled weeks after sending the form. Called the location and was told to talk to operations manager at 4:30 pm. Call at 4:30 and was told to wait 10 minutes because he was busy. Call ten minutes later and told the same thing. Call again ten minutes later and an incredibly rude younger femalw told me he isn’t available and put me on hold just to hang up 10 minutes later. If you sign up for a membership at this club your basically signing up for life since the front desk people provide zero help. The gym is crowded, dirty, and overall significantly worse than the surrounded fitness clubs.

The place is excellent including manager, front desk and best janitorial service. Unfortunately the rules in the swimming pool and spa are zero. Members don't shower before entering. 15 cloth hangers not used but using the chairs instead. The final very bad news about the rule using the pool is two persons per lane before the training that starts at 9 AM . Oriental ladies come at 8 AM and block the swimmers. No one reads signs and it is daily issue

No air conditioning in a windowless strip mall. Shameful! I see seniors fainting in hot rooms without any ventilation. They have been saying they will fix it but it’s been months. This week is 105 degree weather, not sure why they won’t fix this. They have the money, just not the desire.

This became my "home" gym. It's a very clean gym. I have maybe come across one broken equipment the year I've worked out over there. I enjoy this gym alot. Really do not have anything bad to say about this gym. I think whoever is managing this gym is on top of their game... Probably should have give it five, definitely closer to 5.

I love this gym. The staff is amazing, friendly and helpful. They go above and beyond to help guests, as well as keep the environment safe and clean. Abdoul is a wonderful manager and Kyra does so great with personal training. Javier is very welcoming and all the staff are super kind.

Prior to transferring to this gym, I visited other local gyms such as Planet Fitness; however, in the end, it was Abdoul’s customer service made all the difference. Abdoul was friendly, attentive to my questions, concerns and transparent about my membership. He exceeded my expectations, and made this a smooth transition. Clean facility with excellent pool and spa for those who are serious about hydrotherapy relief. Most other clubs do not have such an effective amenity.

The machines are always dirty. I've told the manager many times but the staff won't clean the sweat and muck from the machines daily or a few times per day. It's a gross and smelly experience at times.

Gym not so crowded. Do not need to wait your turn to use the equipments. Great classes as well. I strongly recommend attending the Zumba class from Christino!

Summer subscribers: Make sure you cancel your account a month in advance or they charge you a $50 “annual fee” out of no where. Disputed it 3 times and couldn’t get it removed, even though I wasn’t warned about it. It’s essentially a scam. Read what you are signing.

My favorite gym. It's one of the best LA Fitness clubs around, and I've been to many of them, including the signature clubs that cost extra. The equipment is up to date, staff is friendly and their towel service for $5 extra a month is totally worth it (especially if you workout every day like i do).

Come here after covid. Sizable LA fit with great layout and good equipment. No attempt at mask enforcing. All covid cleaning is dependant on guests who show little care. Without the virus this could be an exemplary LA fit. As is, only come if you have antibodies or the vaccine.

I’ve been a member for three years and a regular user. I only stick with it because it is so close to my house. The gym smells like body order EVEN WHEN IT FIRST OPENS AT 5 AM, the parking is just atrociously crowded and the locker rooms are tiny, as is the gym itself. There aren’t a ton of options in this area, which is why I suspect so many people continue to use it. They are pushy at sign up with personal training and they allow vendors, like chiropractors, to set up a booth near the entrance and hawk their services to those entering and leaving. It’s obnoxious. Stay away if you have better options.

Eventhough this is one of the smaller franchises, it has most of the amenities available.

It’s to dirty . The cleaning guy is doing his job well , but over equipment nobody looks. It’s need more fresh air, because first thing you notice inside is the smell . Also cardio equipment is to old. The lockers are old . I would want to see electric locks. Every thing is loosing and makes a weird noise while working out . UPDATE: So about 1 week after visiting this place I discovered some marks on my back. I didn’t know what that was and I went to a doctor . She told me that it’s simple ringworms. She started to explain where people get them, and I momentarily understood where I got them. I take a shower twice a day, I change my T-shirts twice a day. I’m so neat. However this pace is so dirty that all my preventive methods didn’t work . I cleaned up equipments every time before and after use with that towels and spray . They don’t care about cleanness . HOWEVER a guy who cleans up locker room does his job in there good.

I called on 02/22/2019 to cancel my membership. On 02/21/2019, Edgar and the manager told me that if my project in Deerfield, IL didn’t work out, I could call in and cancel my membership. I told them that signing up would be an issue because I would not be able to come in on Friday, this is the day I found out whether or not I would be flying to Chicago every other week, I found out on Friday that I didn’t have to fly back. As soon as I found out, I called and cancelled. Edgar and some other guy that worked there told me two different times because I called two different times that it would be all taken care of. On Satuday, I spoke to a women at the front desk at the same location and asked her if she can tell me whether or not my account was cancelled. She told me it was not cancelled and that it was still active with no notes about be calling in on Friday to cancel. She then proceeded with telling me that I had 5 business days to cancel and according to the contract it says 3 in order for me to get a FULL refund. The times I contacted the LA Fitness are as follows: 02/22/2019 2:09 PM CST – Edgar said he would take care of it and cancel my account. 2:46 PM CST – Whoever picked up the phone at that time said he has my info and will send me a cancellation notice that the previous guys didn’t sent. 02/23/2019 3:01PM PST – Young lady at the front desk confirmed membership is still active and no notes of me calling in to cancel it 02/25/2019 9:15 AM PST – Spoke with the Operation Manager Mark and he said he would take care of it and because it was 3 days, not 3 business days as stated in the contract he would have to push this issue to his manager to resolve, but will cancel it and send me a cancellation email It is 12:40 PM PST – I have yet received an email stating that I called and cancelled the membership. Just to play it safe I am also sending this cancellation letter to let you know that I am cancelling this membership. Please refund the amount charged to my credit card.

Great experience! Every time! I've been going for a little over a month now. Every class is a hell of a workout and the things you learn are practical and work.

Not the cleanest gym I've been to, not very easy to use system of wiping things down. Towels are not included which is a real buzzkill as well. Lots of machine options though, basketball court is nice.
