As a tourist i was worried about the availability of the mosque, thankfully the doors are always open and they importantly accommodate women aswell they have a dedicated floor upstairs which my wife was grateful for. The whole building was clean and well presented and the locals very welcoming and the mosque seems to be self sufficient aswell with eateries situated on the grounds

Its a fascinating building. Grounded and the guards are always empathetic. If you are non Muslim they will guide you to get more clarity on Islam. Do visit downstairs also they provide food at very reasonable rates for everyone. It's in a nice neighbourhood and one off structure in Edinburgh.

So pleased to be able to pray there masha Allah. Very covid safe, womens area upstairs with entrance from the back of the mosque; nice and clean and plenty of space for sisters. Wearing a mask is compulsory, lovely flowers to add a bit of colour to the gardens.

I had the pleasure of visiting Edinburgh Central Mosque, and I must say, it was an enchanting experience that left a lasting impression on me. The Masjid's architecture is nothing short of awe-inspiring, radiating a sense of tranquility and spirituality from the moment I stepped foot inside. The prayer hall, a masterpiece of design, exudes a peaceful atmosphere, making it an ideal place for reflection and devotion. The meticulous attention to detail in its construction and the artistic embellishments create a serene oasis for prayer and meditation. One of the aspects that truly impressed me was the availability of top-notch facilities. The whudu facilities were immaculately maintained, providing a hygienic and comfortable space for ablution before prayers. I also noticed that the Masjid thoughtfully provided separate facilities for women, ensuring that everyone felt respected and welcomed. In addition to the spiritual amenities, Edinburgh Central Mosque offers practical conveniences that enhance the overall experience. Ample parking space near the mosque is a definite plus, making it accessible to visitors from various locations. Adjacent to the mosque, the presence of a kitchen catering to the culinary needs of visitors was a delightful surprise. The aroma of delicious food wafting through the air only added to the warm and inviting ambiance. In addition the warmth and hospitality of the people within was great to witness. As a visitor, I felt embraced by their kindness, making me feel at home even though I was a stranger. In conclusion, if you're in Edinburgh, a visit to the Central Mosque is an absolute must. Whether you seek a moment of quiet reflection, a glimpse of remarkable architecture, or a taste of genuine hospitality, this mosque will exceed your expectations. I wholeheartedly recommend it to locals and travelers alike.

BEAUTIFULLY PEACEFUL 😊 The building is very beautiful but I suggest you go there so feel a sense of peace and tranquillity. The mosque serves the local community and is open for all the prayers. On Fridays it gets pretty busy and crowded as it’s the congregational prayer so keep that in mind if you plan to visit. Between 12:30 and 2:30pm is the busiest time on a Friday. The location of the mosque is ideal as there’s so many wonderful restaurants nearby. I’d recommend to try the food in the ‘Mosque kitchen’ restaurant as the back entrance of the mosque. There’s also parking at the back. It’s around £1 per hour.

Beautiful architecture and well organised. Clean and tidy halls and wadu areas. They have separate wadu and prayer facilities for sisters, although entrance door isn’t very visible for sisters, it’s at the back of masjid.

Edinburgh Central Mosque (officially known as the King Fahd Mosque and Islamic Centre of Edinburgh) is located on Potterrow near the University of Edinburgh central area and the National Museum of Scotland. The mosque and Islamic centre was designed by Dr. Basil Al Bayati, and took more than six years to complete at a cost of £3.5M.[3] The main hall can hold over one thousand worshippers,[4] with women praying on a balcony overlooking the hall. The mosque holds chandeliers and a vast carpet, with very little furniture.

This is a very beautiful Masjid with a good design in the heart of Edinburgh, opposite the Edinburgh University which makes it easy for students who study here to come to the Masjid.

Edinburgh Central Mosque is an iconic building in the heart of Scotland's capital city. It is Edinburgh's main mosque and cultural centre. Great location and has a paid parking available to the rear. Onsite restaurant with seating area. Edinburgh is home to the second highest population of Muslims in Scotland. Taken together, Glasgow and Edinburgh are home to around 60% of all Muslims in Scotland.

Edinburgh Central Mosque is an outstanding place of worship that is truly a testament to the Islamic faith. The mosque is located in the heart of the city and is a must-visit destination for both locals and tourists. One of the things that sets the Edinburgh Central Mosque apart is its stunning architecture. The mosque's domes and minarets are beautifully crafted and provide an incredible sight to behold. The mosque's interior is equally impressive, with intricate calligraphy and colorful mosaics that create a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere. But the mosque's beauty isn't the only reason to visit. The community at Edinburgh Central Mosque is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and they are always happy to share their knowledge and insights about Islam with visitors. The mosque also hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including lectures, seminars, and cultural events that promote understanding and unity. Another great aspect of Edinburgh Central Mosque is its commitment to community outreach. The mosque runs a number of initiatives that support the local community, including food drives, clothing drives, and other charitable projects. These efforts help to strengthen the bonds between different communities and promote a culture of compassion and understanding. Overall, Edinburgh Central Mosque is a remarkable place that truly embodies the spirit of Islam. Whether you are looking to learn more about the faith or simply want to admire its beautiful architecture, this mosque is well worth a visit.

Beautiful building, set in a beautiful city, very easy find in Edinburgh also right opposite the University. What’s amazing is it has a car Park, cheap to park, and the best part is it has a Mosque restaurant cooking fresh food daily, and not just 1 dish, variety of choices, decent value for freshly cooked home made food, very popular with Muslims and the locals as well. Definitely recommend for you to check it out even if it’s not for praying, try the kitchen🤤😊
