I
spend
a
decent
amount
of
time
on
the
west
coast,
and
was
hoping
I
could
find
a
place
like
they
have
out
there
(a
yoga
+
athletic
recovery
center)
here
in
the
DC
region,
and
on
the
face
of
it,
the
Pearl
looked
like
it
could
be
that.
I
did
a
hot
yoga
class
and
the
healing
waters.
The
yoga
class
was
not
really
hot,
it
was
luke-warm,
at
best,
so
that
was
a
let
down.
I
called
beforehand
and
asked
if
they
had
a
sauna,
and
they
said
yes.
I
was
excited
after
the
coldest
hot
yoga
class
I
have
ever
taken
to
use
the
sauna...
yet
when
I
get
in,
it
is
only
120
degrees
(any
dry
sauna
I
have
ever
used
is
170
degrees
min,
going
up
to
200)
and
the
on/off
switch
is
turned
off...
A
full
member
there
told
me
this
is
a
frequent
issue.
He
also
said
this
place
used
to
be
an
amenity
for
an
HOA,
which
makes
a
lot
of
sense
in
hindsight.
Okay
so
that
didn't
work,
so
let's
try
the
healing
waters.
I
went
into
the
steam
room,
which
also
wasn't
too
hot,
but
at
least
that
built
up
to
a
passable
heat
after
about
5
mins.
Then
I
wanted
to
try
the
cold
plunge
-
it
was
a
weekday
night,
and
the
entire
night,
I
was
not
able
to
use
it
due
to
the
line
for
it.
In
addition,
the
website
states
it
is
about
55
degrees,
but
the
lifeguards
said
it
was
more
like
60
degrees
or
even
a
little
warmer.
This
is
not
even
in
the
beneficial
range
for
a
cold
plunge
(36ish
-
52ish
degrees),
so
not
sure
it
even
mattered
that
I
couldn't
get
in
there.
Any
cold
plunge
I've
ever
done
at
a
recovery
center
that
cares
about
the
science,
has
had
theirs
set
to
between
38-42
degrees.
Honestly
the
tap
water
coming
out
of
your
tub
at
home
is
colder
than
this
was.
For
a
place
that
is
16,000
sf...
it
would
make
a
lot
of
sense
to
have
a
few
legitimate
cold
plunge
baths
and
a
few
saunas
that
actually
get
and
stay
hot.
Okay
so
that
also
didn't
work,
let's
try
these
pools.
Like
others
have
commented,
it
felt
more
like
an
adult
day-care
than
a
spa.
There
were
3
lifeguards
in
there
yucking
it
up,
and
a
bunch
of
people
who
were
very
loud.
It
was
not
east
to
relax.
I
ended
it
with
a
cold
shower
in
the
locker
room,
and
that
was
colder
than
the
cold
plunge.
I
was
hoping
this
place
would
be
like
the
places
I've
visited
out
west
that
have
a
passionate
owner
who
is
well
versed
in
health/fitness
-
as
out
there,
the
parameters
for
the
recovery
equipment
is
set
in
a
way
as
to
be
beneficial
-
and
you
as
the
customer
walk
away
recovered
and
relaxed.
This
is
just
not
a
serious
recovery
operation,
in
that
regard.
The
staff
are
nice,
but
do
not
seem
very
knowledgeable
about
health
and
recovery.
I
did
give
two
stars
because
the
facility
was
very
clean,
and
the
staff
were
nice.
The
waiting
area
with
tea
and
water
was
also
nice.
