Robinson Nature Center was one of the highest quality experiences from a place I did not know existed a few days before I went. The staff is nice and their naturalists are super knowledgeable about all of the surrounding flora and fauna. The interior and exterior of the nature center were beautiful and was filled with super interesting and engaging subject matters that are near and dear to the area. If you're in the area and have not been I highly recommend it. It's a great way to spend an day getting involved in nature.

We recently had my son’s birthday party at Robinson Nature Center and it was great! First, the staff was incredibly nice, accommodating and knowledgeable! Next, my 5-year old son is very interested in dinosaurs so we opted for the excavation option which entailed of a (brief) hike through the woods, followed by digging in a raised bed for dino bones and toys. After that, we had a whole classroom to ourselves for lunch and cake, followed by a brief self-guided tour through the nature maze on the property. There was also another room where they had fish and turtles on display that was open to the paying customers. A great trip for little ones!

Another Howard County gem! I just renewed my annual membership (thanks for senior rate); or you can pay small one-time admission fee for your visit. Staff members are friendly and enthusiastic. Besides birds, I've been looking for butterflies here for our county survey, run by members of the Howard County Bird Club. Wildflower gardens around the main building are amazing and attract a lot of butterflies and other pollinators. I was excited to find a great spangled fritillary yesterday. Trails in the woods with views of the river are wonderful -- constantly singing in summer are wood thrush, wood-pewee, towhee....

Robinson Nature Center is a wonderful destination for a family outing, a quick escape to nature, and is a great place to learn about local ecology snd history. It’s a local treasure! Outstanding educational programs too!

Awesome, awesome place. So much to see. Montessori/natural vibe-type play area inside and out and tons of cool animal displays for the kids to see. Would definitely come again. Only reason I didn't give it five stars is because the staff weren't particularly friendly, but it wasn't a big deal.

This is a great nature center. They have 2 floors of exhibits of both nature and history in the area. My favorite part was about the nocturnal animals. It has a playroom for kids and a quiet room if needed. The staff were all helpful and friendly. They also have gardens of native plants and great trails. I also got to see mill ruins on the property. They are not part of the American horticultural society but the cost is only $5.

A great learning center with multiple hands-on pieces. The staff is knowledgeable and we experienced an awesome turtle and snake show-and-tell. The hidden beehive is a fun find. There are multiple trails to wander and a small play area outside to get excessive kids energy out.

Kids loved it here! The indoor play area didn’t have too many activities for the older kids (3+) but the baby section was super cute and on theme. The exhibits were nice and we even saw a room that had bees you can see through the glass. The outdoor space was amazing too, there is a mud kitchen, swings hanging from trees and a little music spot. My kids also enjoyed the woods. building blocks. Overall a great experience.

I've officially been here with all my children. This most recent time u came here with my 17yr old and his girlfriend. When kids go to school online, things like this are a great addition to the day.

This place was so great! We went in the winter so I'm sure it's even more beautiful when everything is in full bloom. We plan on returning! They had a fantastic exhibit inside with lots of facts for children. My little one wasn't as interested in this but I'm sure within a year it would be a hit. Then you can go out and follow the trails. These were wonderful with lots of things to see and eventually led you to a river which we enjoyed watching. There were lots of picnic tables outside for eating. They also had such a fun outside 'playground' with hammocks, outdoor kitchen, instruments, slide, and just lots of space. We really loved it and can't 2ait to go back!

My 4 year old had a great time here. His favorite was feeding the fishes and watching the train. My wife and I loved it as well. It's also a beautiful place to take pictures. Highly recommend visiting at least once.

A great place for kids! I brought my 3 year old and 1 year old and spent more than 2 hours here...and they still didn't want to leave! Keep in mind it costs a few dollars to get in so bring your wallet. Some parts of the nature exhibits were scary for my 1 year old, such as the stuffed bear and cave area. But my 3 year old boy loved the cave! There is an outdoor okay area with hammocks and both kids loved that! There is also a gift shop, my son talked me into getting a toy frog haha!

Great place with a lot of things to do. You can do the trails, visit the center and if you plan ahead there are also some cool activities offered outdoors. Center feels very new and is bigger than you would expect with many activities like bee watching, some turtles and a salt water tank.

Very lovely area to walk around. Close to the central part of Columbia, which is nice. There are a few trails, it didn't take us more than an hour to walk them all. The Mill Ruins we're pretty cool, had no idea that was right there under the road. There's a small playground as well. We didn't go inside this visit. That apparently costs a few bucks, but it looked very nice. The outside was open for free.

It is winter now and still great fun to be had indoors. Wild for water day was amazing. The guide was informed and made sure the kids stayed entertained. Definitely a fun family event.

Exceptionally clean and fun center for kids that includes both indoor and outdoor exhibits. We saw many butterflies in the beautiful flower gardens near the building. My four year olds favorite part was the creek about a 6-7 minute walk from main building.

Great with sensory needs and willing to accommodate other access needs! Planetarium seats are approx. 18” wide, if you need larger they are able to help work something out. They have both a dark quiet room and another room with sensory fidgets and books. The “night” section of the forest exhibit area was a hit with the kids. There’s nice, covered outdoor seating upstairs when it rains. Super relaxing.

Awesome toddler discovery room, cool events, great small hiking trails for littles when weather is nice. Play area outside too with soft swings and other fun toddler stuff. We purchased the year membership and it was well worth it.

Great place for a hike through the woods. We enjoyed the water, birds and trails.

Really wonderful facilities here. Note that they do charge admission for the interior of the nature center. Still a lot to enjoy with kids even if you skip the interior area. Can be a little busy on the weekends, but I still find it enjoyable on crowded days. Lots of great events here throughout the year.

Loved the exhibits in the nature center. Lovely walking trails. There's a small beehive exhibit in a quiet room on the lower floor where you can see the bees in their hive through glass or clear plastic, which I thought was fantastic. The ruins of the old mill were pretty neat too.
