The food as usual good. The service this time was very disappointed. The waiter came and asked us twice if every thing ok. When he cleared the table and we ordered a dessert, I asked him to wipe the table, the waiter didn't responded and he did a face like he's not satisfied from my request. When we received the dessert from another server, I ask her to wipe our table and she told me, she will notify our server. He never came to wipe our table. The waiter came in the end to give us the check. One of our fish price in the check didn't match to the menu price. We mentioned to the waiter, he tried to tell us that nothing wrong and when we asked him to bring the menu he even didn't say sorry for the confusion. In addition the waiter add the tip for our check, our party 5 peoples. In the menu written "tip will add for party of 6 or more. Overall very dissatisfied from our experience tonight.

Really enjoyed this place. Greeted with a kind smile and seated immediately. The food was fantastic and the portions are sizable. Not just another chain. Interesting menu and everything was better than expected. Will definitely go again if back in the area.

I was very much looking forward to a celebration dinner as I had a wonderful experience when I last ate at J Alexander’s. The service was extremely poor for a upscale restaurant on this visit. The waiter was barely available, did not offer additional beverages or dessert or ask if the food was OK. I fully intended to have the carrot cake which was so wonderful last visit but was so turned off with the absent waiter, I was not desperate to have dessert. Food was excellent but there are many excellent restaurant options on the North Shore. When you dine in service is important. Your restaurant did not meet expectations.

This is such a great restaurant. I took my mom here over the weekend for lunch and I was craving for a good salad and I remembered them having a really good one. Sure enough when I looked at the menu I remembered which salad I had. Between my mom and I we had the Grill Artichoke appetizer, she had the Chicken Pasta Soup and as main entrees I had the Thai Kai Salad and my mom had the French Dip. Let me tell you, we never fully finish our meals and we both finished all the dishes. Clean plate club! The salad was perfect with the thinly sliced chicken and just the right amount of dressing. The French Dip was delicious and with the perfect baguette and loved the mini fries that was cooked perfectly. Restaurant environment was nice and clean, great staff and cant wait to come back here again.

It is always a 3 star place. I sometimes wonder who on the corporate side has the vision of what they are trying to achieve.

Great place. With many options, we go there on a regular basis. Great soups and salads. A unique thinly sliced prime rib on a baguette with au jus. It's tough to order anything else for me, but when I do, I'm not disappointed.

Went in there to grab a steak and it was really good service, my friend and I were highly satisfied with the quality of our food. It was super festive as our waitress was a woman who highly resembles Wednesday adams. She was very attentive and made some good suggestions off the menu. Highly recommend.

First time in. Would highly recommend the Chicken Milanese. Wasn’t crazy about the orzo and rice, it was definitely different (served cold too). Chicken was cooked perfectly though, not too chewy. The mac and cheese was also good. The server came by the table multiple time to check on us which was great service imo. The only con was the lighting of the restaurant. The lights seemed to be angled in a weird way, I would recommend sitting at a booth or the bar. Other than that I would highly recommend this place.

We had the French Dip sandwich with the Not Your Ordinary Mac and Cheese - which is cheesy goodness in a casserole dish. If you haven't tried it before, please do. It will not disappoint. This dish better not, EVER be taken off of their menu. We were too full to have dessert there, so we took home a slice of their Key Lime pie. Delicious!

Excellent food! We especially enjoyed the Hong Kong shrimp. Our server, Foteini, was exceptional! She was attentive and competent but more than that she simply radiates warmth and hospitality!

Exceptional meal with coworkers from Utah. Asked manager if they had carrot cake—he laughed and said they would go out of business if they didn’t serve that nightly. Speaking of which that carrot cake is from another world. So delicious!! Great service also. The special Icelandic Cod fish tacos were very tasty.

The staff was nice, my food could have been better. My steak was not cooked right, didn’t have much flavor and my potatoes were cold. I sent it back and the potatoes were much better and the steak was cooked better but again no flavor. The salad with the fresh croutons was probably the best thing.

We hadn't been there for several years, because our experiences there, had been poor, at best. We went, on a fluke with some friends. We were delightfully surprised. Right from the start, the greeting from the staff is personable and cordial. The service, was fast and accurate.. food, was fine.. It was about 8pm, so at the tail end of food service. The presentation of the food was still very good and pleasing. Where we sat, there was a light fixture aimed right at one of our friends, and the staff took care of the immediately. Prices, like everywhere now, were a little high, but not terrible.. The only negative, I might have, is the noise level is a bit high. We will definitely be back..

I have yet to see a staff work more efficiently in the kitchen as this one. I stopped by for lunch on my way back home. Sat at the bar. Ordered a cup of coffee which they brewed fresh. Ordered my food and within 5 mins my Cajun prime rib sandwich with a cup au jus and a dish of creamy horseradish came out. Cooked perfectly and very flavorful. Personal opinion, I’m never a huge fan of the shoestring fries over regular but still cooked well. Cant wait to be back in town to try other options. Great atmosphere, staff, and food.

Love, J Alexander’s in Michigan and came to try the Redlands Grill in Illinois. Great service and ambience in this location as close to the highway and many other places nearby. Will have to come again and visit.
