Did a google search for bakeries while in the area and this place came up. Was in a hidden secret strip mall near a highway...just one way in, one way out! Larger than life building on the outside, but on the inside its like 75% resturant 25% bakery store (no. I didnt do math for the kitchen area in the back!). I was here for the bakery. Saw some things I've never seen before, and couldnt tell u what they were called now, But the taste is unforgettable! So wholesome and natural tasting. There was a triangle shaped treat with apricot or blueberry in the middle...1st bite of the crust and i could taste the honey-sweetness of it....and It only got better from there. Theres also this crushed sesame stuff that could be a peanut butter substitute in any recipe (and an upgrade the recipe!). They also have these delicious pasta-based desserts that has completely changed my thoughts on gross pasta-based desserts. I was blown away by how everything tasted and wanted to try more. I will definitely need to stop in again to try the resturant side. I will stop there everytime i'm within 10 miles of the place again. It'll be worth the detour! Be sure to tap a thumbs up if u found this review helpful!

Great food and obviously well loved by many. I was there at lunch mid-week and the place was packed with a wait. Was it worth it! I had the Max and Benny's Ruben. It was piled high with tender, fall apart corned beef and came with coleslaw and pickle on the side. I took a beef brisket dinner to to go and it was so much food I had dinner for 2 nights. Tender beef, latkes, rolls and veggies. Theres also a separate deli where you can get deli meats, sandwiches, salads and baked goods.

A great deli and restaurant. The Rueben is my favorite sandwich, the soups are all incredible—just depends on your mood. This trip I picked up bagels to go. #deli #matzahballsoup

Had lunch today. Very friendly service. Pesto chicken salad tasty and loved that I could order a lunch size. My friend enjoyed his Reuben sandwich too. Good coffee! Just fine for a restaurant of its type. Something for everyone on the menu

MAX AND BENNY'S is an excellent American deli with an East Coast bent. Noisy and joyful, this is a respectful tribute to New York City's Jewish gastronomic traditions. Service, except at the busiest times, is quick and efficient. The expansive menu offers a comprehensive selection of Jewish delicatessen, The excellent bakery's selection is both unique and delicious. The waiters are old school. They know the menu and willingly offer helpful suggestions. When stepping from the cafe into the "Take-A-way" deli, take a few moments to view the clever and unique cookie jar collection. Note: We find our way to Max and Benny's each time we visit Chicago's northwest suburbs. Our family loves the place. Being a vegan, I observe their joy as they devour bowls of chicken soup (with matzo balls) and corned beef sandwiches. My fresh-baked rye bread, vegetable sandwich is large and delicious. 0f course, carry-outs are offered. (How can you stop at a deli and not bring something home?) Lots of free parking. Everything is ADA compatible.

My wife brought me home a pastrami sandwich. Meat looked like it was pressed beef like Arbys and had no flavor. So disappointed especially for the cost. This place used to be the gold standard. Won't go back.

Took my grandson to Nickel City and stopped here for lunch after. Classic deli! Got a "famous" reuben sandwich and a chocolate phosphate. Haven't had one in years! My grandson seemed to like his grilled cheese and french fries too. They also had bagels I could purchase at checkout. Good stuff!

I had the junior Cobb salad for lunch today and I must say that when it was placed in front of me the presentation was absolutely stunning. It was extremely delicious and I just wanted to let you guys know how happy I was with my salad kudos to whoever prepared it. it was the first time I’ve had a salad at Max and Benny’s usually I get the corn beef on rye but decided to have a salad today and I’m so glad I did . Thank you.

What a huge disappointment! Nothing I ate was good. Everything seemed scaled back from anything resembling a proper deli from my past. The plain bread rolls seemed like the kind you get at a discount restaurant supply store. Not sure the butter was fresher than a year old. The pickle was pure salt while the sweet & sour cabbage soup and the chopped liver were way way way too sweet and all were barely palatable. The corned beef and pastrami were no better than you'd get at the deli counter at Jewel or any grocery store; processed, pressed and dry "meats". Long gone are the days where quality deli meat is piled high on the solid piece of bread like you see in the pictures on the menu. On a positive note, the plain water was very good.

Never have we enjoyed blintzes so much. All of the breakfast items were delicious. Afterwards we loaded up on Jewish deli items and breads. Prices were reasonable and the quality of food was excellent.

We always dine in because the wait staff and owners are so welcoming. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. I suggest any of their homemade soups with a corned beef sandwich! Yum

We had a large party and we were given exceptional service and accommodations. The food was absolutely delicious! Tender mouth watering brisket, crispy delicious potato pancake, an absolute perfect chocolate phosphate! Our waitress was absolutely amazing, and so kind.

🫤 The place was nice and cozy. After seeing all the reviews I thought it would be a great place to grab breakfast but it turned out to be the opposite. We ordered two steak skillets and a breakfast burrito and the only thing that came out right was the burrito. We were shocked to see that our food wa...

👍👍 They have the best pancakes! I eat breakfast here at least once a week. We always order the 300 breakfast, it’s more than enough for 2 and we always have leftovers too!
