I was suggested to try Portillo's as one of the must try in Chicago...but I was disappointed😞. I ordered Italian beef sandwiches but the gravy dip was missing for both of the sandwiches! Double cheese burger was completely missing!! Cheese fries was given properly though🤪. When I went there it was 7:02pm and they was a huge lineup on the drive through. I was impressed on how quickly the line moved and my order was taken 100% accuracy. Not sure why/how it was messed up by the kitchen!! I was there on a shot trip and didn't bother asking the store. Maybe my luck...

Very reliable sandwiches and hotdogs. I ordered the Italian beef with extra gravy, with both sweet and hot peppers and a side of cheese sauce. I ordered fries and a drink as well. The sandwich was great. Loaded with meat and tasted great. The line at the register was fast. The cashier was very knowledgeable and helpful. The line to pick up my food was fast. They employees really work well together. The tables were clean and it was just a great over all experience that I expect to have at Portillos.

Love the Italian beef sandwiches. Wish there was something which could be easily done to raise the atmosphere above the level of German beer halls during times other than Oktoberfest.

For being extremely busy it had plenty of seating. Charlie did a great job with helping with our tables. Look forward to going back here again with our team.

Great fast and fancy hotdogs and burgers a la carte. Chicago dog is great. Good fries. Cheese sauce could be better though. Super cool decor and fun restaurant clean restrooms. Will definitely be back when in Deerfield.

Portillo’s is a great restaurant with great food, this location in Deerfield is one of the better ones I’ve been to. For starters, the employees that work there are always super nice and helpful. The food is always fresh and delicious. And the restaurant itself is always kept clean. I highly recommend coming to this Portillo’s.

Had not been in a very long time and they didn't disappoint at all. Super great food 😋. Customer service was on point. Hopefully when we go to the new one in Plano Texas they keep the food and service this good.

Put in an order on DoorDash and called IMMEDIATELY after I placed the order. Was shuffled between two different people (one of them was Michael). I specifically asked for no onions as I can’t eat onions and was told that’s be taken care of. Needless to say, as you can see in the picture, I got onions. I called to inform them, was forwarded to the manager, then after waiting a good 30 seconds the line just closed. I’d say it’s a great way to earn one star. Thanks for the experience. As a result, it is my first and last time having Portillo’s.

35 minute drive through wait. Wrong order. And once it was corrected, this is the quality of food we received. More Mayo on the sandwich than chicken—and large fry was 1/3 full. Absolute joke of a once proud establishment.

The interior is as always chic and interesting, longer than eating, my son and I looked at the bus 😂 Food is delicious, prices are low, lots of tables, great place to meet friends.

I grew up with Portillos as a staple living in Chicago. From not tasting it for some time, it appears they changed their hot dogs. The Italian beef was not nearly packed with beef the way it used to be! And of course… the prices. 🫣 $5.50 for a chili dog. It’s still a “must go” but seems like its slipped a bit.

Portillos never disappoints. At first when I moved to Chicago, I didn’t see what the big deal was, but now it the chocolate cake shake, authentic chicago dogs, and cheese fries have won me over. It IS a big deal. Not to mention, the house salad is spectacular.

I really wish we have this restaurant back home -- the hotdogs are really yummy and we also enjoyed the cheese fries; the cheese itself is the highlight of this side. Finish off your meal with strawberry shortcake, which I highly recommend. The restaurant is also well decorated, gave a very cozy feeling. Portillo's offers very affordable food options.

Everything was fantastic. My cashier accidently gave me too much change back. I told him and explained I didn't want him being in trouble due to his register coming up short. He was a younger man, and I'm sure he needed his job. He thanked me so many times, and the manager thanked me for my honesty and gave me a free slice of cake. It was honestly the right thing to do. No one should lose their job for a small mistake. He gave me 2 dollars more than I should have had.

When in Chicago. You can't miss Portillo's ! Their hod dogs and hamburgers are iconic! I delighted in my Chicago hot dog while my granddaughters devoured their hamburgers 🍔🍟 Good salads too!

I must say we have been craving this place. They're on top of it. Excellent food and service. And it was every bit as good. Staff was efficient and nice. Got the polish sausage with grilled onions, and crinkle fries. The polish sausage is so good and flavorful. the crinkle fries are well salted and textured, my daughter got a cheese burger and said it was the best burger she's had in a while. So I had to try a bite and she was right. The chocolate cake is great too! Highly recommend the famous dog. Have different food items to choose. Classic Chicago food at reasonable prices!

Been waitin in drive through line for over 30 min, and it barely moved. Looks like they r serving door dash and uber eats first, then the others. Wouldn' recomend to go to this place if u r not willing to wait for an hour in your car. And it's not even lunch time. The total wait time was 55 minutes in a drivethrough.

Service has gone DOWN... This is what happens when a private owned company sells to the big corp; they cut down on the support staff to be more profitable to appease the stock holders in the private equity group that acquired Portillo's.

Always good, like the Italian beef, love the hot dogs. Their chocolate cake shake is on point. The only criticism I have is when placing an order I asked for the Italian beef the "Portilli's Way" and the counter person's response was "What's the Portillo's Way?" How could you work there and not be versed in a popular way to order one of their most famous items. Of course this place is still highly recommended. I also enjoyed their chicken fingers, which had a great flavor.

Always worth a visit. Dogs are spot on every time. A bit pricey tho, almost $4/dog before drink and fries. Makes me feel old remembering we used to get 2 dogs, fries and a drink for less than $5 in the 90s. After all....youre just buying a hot dog. Italian beefs are fantastic here too, and a better value IMHO. Everything else is just fluff.

My burger and cheese sauce was missing from my order. They told me that I would get a credit sent to my email. Nothing.

Chicago classic serving up hot dogs, burgers, salad, Italian beef, deserts, and more complete with 50s and 60 decor. Service is always friendly and fast despite their typically busy atmosphere. Food has never disappointed and provides an elevated fast-food experience. A bacon cheeseburger with some cheese fries is my go-to order.

I had an amazing experience. The food was ready fast and it was great. The Worker named Alvin was Very Efficient at his job. He made sure each customer was taken care of. I went with my group home and he made it a very enjoyable experience. He made sure everybody got an update on when their order would be ready. He went above and beyond to make sure each customer had a great experience. He was also very friendly to me and the 3 residents who have disabilities.

I had a great experience. The staff member named Alvin was very friendly and very on top of things. While I was waiting, He asked me about my order and talked to his coworkers and made sure they worked on it. I was not expecting this kind of great service and He did an amazing job. He spoke to the multiple people in line as well and made sure every person was up to date with when their food was ready.

Visiting from out-of-state and this was a great place to get a genuine Chicago dog. The dog was a mouthful but good, and the cheese fries were delicious. Service was excellent, especially from Desie!

Wanted to order 2 beers for myself, so I didn’t have to wait in a long line a second time. I was asked “Can I see the second person’s ID?”. Are you kidding me?! How inefficient and just plain stupid. This location is on my “Skip” list from now on.

Was taken by a Chicagoland resident as part of the mandatory experience of living here. The interior was done up in a 60s/70s pop art deco style. I had an Italian Beef sandwich dipped (really more dunked) in beef broth with hot peppers and it was fantastic. Service was extremely fast despite a massive line that ran along two walls of the interior. Writing about it has me strongly considering changing our dinner plans to make another visit.

I picked up a catering order and Dawn went out of her way to make sure our order went smoothly. It would have been easy for her to hand the box off. However, she realized something was leaking and got me an entire new box. She repacked everything for me. Employees like her are the reason we continue to order from portillos. Thank you Dawn!!

My go to is the Portillo’s chopped salad. You can’t go wrong. It’s light and delicious. If your in a heavier mood though, they have great hot dogs, burgers, polish and more. When in the heavy mood, the chocolate cake shake is something else.

Great Chicago style food. I love my Italian beef sandwich dipped. But it gets too soggy if you order it to go. So I order the juice on the side, however they never place it in the bag. This happens every time.

This is absolutely without a shred of doubt the WORST Portillo’s in the NorthShore. Every single time I order, whether it’s 1 item or a few different items on the menu, my order is wrong. Doordash? Forget about It, guaranteed your order will be missing something. The driver themselves on several different occasions have told me that the employees at this location barely look at the name on the orders and much less inspect to make sure the others are accurate before handing it to the drivers. I can’t even begin to tell you how many times my doordash orders have been incorrect. Ordering from this Portillo’s has caused nothing but frustration and headache, on multiple upon multiple upon multiple occasions. I firmly believe because the people who hand the drivers other people’s orders have zero clue what they are doing. Please please please, if someone from the Portillo’s corporate offices is reading this, please stop by this store and have a serious 1 on 1 with whoever hands over the orders for delivery or online orders to drivers.. notice how I didn’t say “who checks for orders” because this location has clearly established That they without question do NOT check orders for accuracy. This location is a gamble when you order . What you get is what you get.

Absolutely terrible service!!! Messed up our order 3 times had bad attitudes towards us. Woman inside drive through window was massaging the shoulders of another male worker. Argued with my wife about our order. And it was as simple as a cheeseburger with no bun !!!!!!! They didn’t understand and were just plain ignorant to us. This place is going down the tubes big time !!! Buyer beware of terrible service and terrible attitudes. absolutely terrible service and nasty people !!

Ordered to pick up at a certain time. Got to the place at the time of pick up and had to wait 30 minutes to get our cold food. We had an appointment so we had to leave right away. In the car, while distributing the food, we realized we were short a burger. Since we couldn't go back, we called to have the money refunded. We called for about an hour with people asking for a manger that never got to the phone. I left my number for the manager to call when they had sometime, but I guess they have been busy 12 hours straight because no one has returned my call. Emailed corporate to see if we have better luck.

Ordered online, curbside time to pick up was 545. I got there 545 and parked and called the number on my Email confirmation, lady I talked to put me on hold for about 5 min then came back on and said I'll have to go thru the drive thru . Which was at least 50 cars long. Nobody came and asked me and I tried to ask the manager who was giving people there orders and he said I have to wait in line. So I did, 35 min after my pick up time he gives me my food. I asked the lady that checked me in to make sure my food is fresh and not 30 minutes old. Manager handed me my food and I asked him when it was made. He said he doesn't know and said I could check. I said ok please remake it and he said it would be 45 min so I said just give me my money back. Why can other restaurants figure it out and this one can't?

It's a mad house so double check your order. Good people trying hard. They do make it right if they mess up. They care.

You have to give a little extra time for their employees, and company.. Stuff takes time it's worth the wait.. The drive thru is packed.. Portillos is legendary!
