First time here. Don’t know why I haven’t been here until today!? Outstanding! The menu automatically draws you in. Very creative! I got the trailhead dog. Very good. Hush puppies. very good. Everything was very good. Broccoli salad,, amazing. Service was just as good. Inside was super clean as well. I can’t wait to go back and try new stuff!! I highly recommend this place!

I was passing through Hickory and spotted this place. Staff was very friendly and welcoming and offered good suggestions. Obviously, I chose the 2 dog combo. Food was quick and delicious. Toppings on the dogs were generous without being overbearing. I’m not usually a crinkle cut fry person, but these were well-seasoned and the secret sauce dip they brought out was a nice mix of tangy and sweet. I would definitely come back next time I’m in the area.

My new favorite restaurant in all of North Carolina. Right off 127 in Hickory, a modest building hids an amazing restaurant with some of the best fried shrimp I have ever tasted that happens to also be gluten free. Plus the hush puppies are also gluten free! I had the trifecta of Fried Shrimp, hush puppies and great tartar sauce for the first time in over 15 years since I had to go gluten free. This is no accident, the chef herself is gluten free and expertly crafts the seasoned breading by hand. She also made a killer pumpkin cheesecake with gluten free graham cracker crumbs and makes several other GF cakes that I hope to sample soon. Also the soups are GF and amazing like everything we tried! I would give this place six stars if I could. We just loved this place for the food, the great customer service and down home atmosphere! Well done!

A killer hot dog joint with great small town vibes! The chili on the hot dogs is soooo good- we are glad we went out of the way to stop here! Try the Mac and cheese - it’s creamy and perfect!

We were so excited to find a new place that offers GF options for our family. They take it seriously - changing gloves, separate prep area and 2 dedicated fryers. The customer service was great and they were all so friendly.

My Grandson picked Charlie Graingers as the place he wanted to have his 5th birthday lunch with his family. This was my first time to eat here. I had the White Bean and Brisket soup and shared the yummy Brisket Nachos. I can see why this restaurant was featured on the travel channel. The food is delicious. Judging by the crowd, the only thing Charlie Graingers needs is a huge seating area. I hope I can go back the next time I visit my Grandchildren.

First time trying this place with my wife and we loved it! We love their hotdogs and the nacho with brisket was awesome! We will be back and hopefully try their soups and bbq plate next time.

I wanted to like this place so much, I love hotdogs. first off I want to say the people were very nice! The service was fast! They tried so hard but the food just wasn't that good. We got all the way hotdogs the slaw had very little flavor and the chili could have been from an industrial sized can. I also had a chili and pimento cheese hotdog, the pimento cheese was very weird. My wife had the loaded bbq nachos which were good, the pulled pork itself was very tasty. The problem with the nachos was the cheese sauce had a sweetness and the bbq sauce had a sweetness too so it became to sweet in the end. I would try them again for other things besides the hotdogs (the bbq or brisket) they also had good sounding sandwhiches. I'm sure there's things on they're menu that would be rated a 5/5.

Food was good. Open sign was on when we arrived and there was no posting of hours of operation. After ordering and paying we were asked if we would take our order to go since they closed at 4 p.m. We would have never gone in had we known they would be closing in 10 minutes. Will probably be our first and last visit since it seems they are more interested in time off than making customers feel welcome.

This food was amazing and everyone was friendly and fast. Dogs are killer. Gumbo rocks. Brisket sandwich is mouthwatering. Soups are great also. Will come back a lot. Go here now.

Order by way of Door Dash. The menu on door dash we do t skimp. My wifes nachos were dry. Had tomatoes ( that she asked not to be), and hardly any bbq sauce. My sons' sandwiches had no sauce on them. Completely dry? My gluten free chicken strips...clean your chicken mate before you cook it. I absolutely do not enjoy biting into a piece of tendon. As an old pitmaster, you always use sauce on your sandwiches, unless stated otherwise. Bbq nachos should be that...BBQ NACHOS. Not nachos with more cheese than bbq sauce. Other than this, the banana pudding was good. The food was warm. That's all I got. The Rogue Veteran.

Let me start by saying this place has a million wonderful gluten free options. And all are very tasty. The lady that waited on me was very kind. She said they make pretty much everything on sight. Super great place to visit and get some food that's delicious.

They have a great variety of food. They have hot dogs that are so good and they have any kind you would want on the menu. Their fries and hush puppies are excellent, so is the barbecue (the BBQ sauce is on the side, so you control how much you want). Those are the only things I have personally tried but my sister says the brisket is really good also.

First time trying it. The food was great, nice atmosphere and friendly service. I was also in the area so it was convenient and actually the best choice from all other establishments.

The bun was steamed and stuck to the container and when you picked it up to eat it you had to hold it with both hands because the hot dog and condiments were falling through the bottom. I would recommend not steaming the hot dog buns. The Cole slaw was good.

Nice southern style BBQ joint. Amazing food, greater BBQ, best thing of brisket you can get that's not Texas. Would recommend a try.

I’ve been gluten free out of necessity for about ten years. Yesterday, I had my first fried fish sandwich in that many years. It wasn’t just “good for gluten free”, it was a darn good fried fish sandwich. I had zero issues after eating it. My fiancé, who is a hot dog lover, enjoyed his two “not gluten free” hot dogs. This place has something for everyone! 100% recommend this place.

AMAZING BBQ both beef and pork, hotdogs SMACK, Mac and cheese is DELISH.. but I ordered a taco, the Effron, probably would’ve been a decent taco but the corn tortilla was served uncooked, I brought it up they took it and brought it back like they slapped the whole thing in the microwave for 10 secs. Tortillas need to be cooked first!! For that only, -2 stars. Gotta do a culture right do to it at all!

Such a nice place! This was my first time. Service was exceptional, and the brisket plate was great. I will definitely be making more regular trips for my lunch break.

Highly highly recommend this place! Hickory doesn't offer many Gluten Free foods but they have so many options! Even desserts too. All the food we got was delicious. The staff was very attentive to us and super nice with speedy service. Thank you, Charlie's!

Duuuuude! Everything I have tried here is absolutely amazing. The flavor combinations are very adventurous. The brisket is top notch. The tacos are SLAMMING. The staff is super friendly. Absolutely no complaints. You’d have to be a Karen to gripe about Charlie Graingers. When you’re in the mood to get your belly full, check ‘em out.

horrible!! A cold lifeless tiny dog (not hot dog, it was room temp) on a non toasted bun that fell apart upon the first touch. The chili more resembles refried beans and the cheese was out of a can, really!?! It should be illegal to pour cheese from a can on good BBQ brisket, no problem here, the flavorless brisket was appropriately accompanied!

This place is AWESOME. As much as I’d like to try some of the other items they have on the menu, I can’t stop getting the bbq nachos. The service is great and you can usually get in and out in a timely manner.

Fantastic food and fantastic people! I eat here Everytime I come to hickory for work! I love their Mac daddy tacos and reccomend anything they have! As you can tell I have tried quite a bit!

I absolutely love this place. Please help them get started in there new location. They have the best attitude and great food. Let's help blow up there new location. Love love love

It's a shame this location will be closing in February. Excellent food, service and atmosphere.
