We were visiting a friend in Gainesville. Looking for an activity for my 10 year old grandson, I contacted the planetarium. The Director was remarkable. He, on short noticed arranged for us to visit. My grandson and I thoroughly enjoyed the program and it was above and beyond our expectations. They were accommodating and the planetarium is a great place for young people to be exposed to the stars, space and science. I highly recommend a visit.

The projection system is state of the art and even being upgraded today. The shows are interesting and up to date on all plantary/galaxy knowledge. I personally recommend the one on Black Holes. It is a perfect introduction to the subject.

This was the surprise of the trip! We thought we had missed out on the opportunity to visit because they were closed for spring break when they normally would have had an event on that Saturday. While we were visiting the geology dept. I mentioned to my wife we should check and see if they had any unannounced shows because my son has been begging to go to a planetarium. We ran into the director and began chatting. After our conversation, he told us to hang out and after the field trip group left, he would give us the opportunity to see the show! It was so cool and such a cute show. We are forever grateful for the kindness shown to us that day. Getting to see the awe and wonder in my little boy's eyes and heart was something I will forever cherish. Thank you.

The Planetarium was very hard to find on the Santa Fe campus. It took us about 20 minutes to find it and we were practically on top of it. It was hidden in the middle of other buildings. Even the signs on the campus weren't very good. We were 2 minutes late and after begging and pleading we were finally let in to the scheduled show along with 2 other people who also got lost as we all drove up to Gainesville from Ocala to see this show. The Eclipse show was pretty good and I would have been very disappointed if we missed it. I thank them very much for letting us in as they have rules about late comers. It would have been nice if there were some signs pointing to the Planetarium or at least some signs in the parking lot to let us know it was there. There was no way you could tell from the parking lot that the Planetarium was there.

This was my third time visiting the Planetarium and each time I have learned something new. As Planetariums go, it's not that big, but that can be a good thing. This just happened to be a fairly stormy night, so it was 3/4 full. Technically, It can get pretty loud in there. I wouldn't recommend bringing younguns under 4 years old.

Classical music mixed with information about the planetoids of the solar system. Very fun.

This was our first time visiting this particular planetarium. A first for our daughter. We had a lovely surprise that the person narrating the show sung her happy birthday and had a really beautiful star display just for her. Unfortunately, we couldn’t stay the whole time, three year olds lose attention quickly. Definitely planning to make a visit back when she’s a little older. Thank you so much, definitely recommend 🀍

If you enjoy space in any way shape or form make sure you come here for a show. James is always good for at least two to three dad jokes and so knowledgeable. You can definitely tell that he loves his job and loves sharing his passion for the stars.

I took my 10-year-old son and we had an awesome time. Truly an great experience and the Director James was extremely knowledgeable, funny and personable and kept it interesting. Five stars to James . Definitely somewhere you should take your young ones or even older ones that are interested.

Best seats are definitely center - back.Great production. Very comfortable. The staff are friendly and entertaining. If you need to park in a handicapped spot, park at the police station. The walk to the entrance is quick.
