Hubby loves Korean food. He was in heaven as I went along for the ride. Surprisingly I enjoyed it too! Bolgolgi stew for 2...more like for 4! Cheap at $25! Tons of leftovers! Will be back next time we visit Florida!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING i do not live here actually i live like 3 hrs from here and i am so glad we stopped. best korean food i have ever had they had everything i needed. the side dishes/ pickles were also so fresh and tasty!! the waiter was so kind and pleasing to talk to they also had entertaining shows playing behind the bar. Would drive 3 hrs to eat here!!! seriously update: i have been back since and it is just as good as the first time! i seriously love this little place and most would pass right by it, the owners are so kind and nice, genuine people, we talked to them about the chayote pickles they serve and they even brought more to the table because they knew we liked then, multiple times!! would recommend this Korean to anyone who asked!

Not what I expected from the high ratings/reviews. Is Korean food supposed to be extremely sweet??? I was burping garlic 🧄 all night after eating here! Yuck! The pot stickers were delicious but the bulgogi for two was CANDY..... not coming here again.

Quaint, family operated, traditional Korean food. Food is delicious and service excellent. Located in an obscure strip mall you wouldn't it was there if you weren't looking for it.

My husband and I love coming here whenever we crave Korean food. Their rice is unique, the banchan (appetizer plates) has a lot of variety, the dishes always come out piping hot (quite literally) especially when it's served in a stone pot - see my video, it was still bubbling for several minutes after it came out! Bulgogi, galbi, ramen, bibimbap, it's all been so good. What my husband loves most is how their higher levels of spice are truly HOT. Only one time has he been disappointed recently, just with the small amount of meat he got in his Korean fried chicken dish. Inflation is high, for real, we all know it, but no one wants to leave hungry. This only happened once, and it's not enough to dissuade us from coming back. I believe I heard the owner say they do not serve sushi anymore, just a heads up. Their menu is marked to signify what is vegetarian friendly. All in all, the flavors are so good that we're repeat customers for life!

The best thing of this place for sure is the great service!! We enjoy the Korean food as it was our first time. This place is generous in the portions so consider taking something to go.

A hidden gem with the friendliest service! I love Korean food and didn’t know this place existed. My Dad was wanting some dumplings and we decided to try it out. Excellent, authentic food prepared with care and old recipes.

This location is very nostalgic for me. 30 years ago it was Sub Concious and it became my go-to sandwich shop. They've been gone for years now. 💔 But then Ssam Bar opened in the same spot. I've eaten here, takeout & inside, at least a dozen times, even through Covid (takeout only then). Everything I've had - and I love to explore a menu - is superb. The staff is fun, helpful, friendly, and glad to help figure out whatever you don't understand. The menu is well divided by style with good descriptions to help out. And did I mention everything is delicious? The strip plaza building has been around for decades but there are curb cuts and there is handicapped parking right in front. The threshold into the restaurant is easily rolled over.

The food is very authentic and so flavorful, it reminded me of our time in Korea. The people there so sweet and polite. Now it is one of our favorite. Seafood pancake is my favorite.

If you want to try something new this is the place! This was our 3rd time eating here, everything we order is delicious and full of flavor. Their menu includes a large variety of Bulgolgi as well as vegetarian options. They have the best home made kimchi in Sarasota. The staff is incredibly sweet, always ready to help.

Went here for a quick lunch before attending a show at Asolo. My wife ordered Beef Bulgogi 5-star hot, and she said it was wonderfully hot without losing any flavor. I ordered the chicken bulgogi not hot; wish I'd ordered one star because it was a bit bland. However, the sushi and sashimi are incredible. Fresh and beautifully laid out, tasty as could be! I spoke with another couple who looked like regulars, and they told me that sometimes the sushi bar didn't have fish early in the week. (Smart; who orders sushi on a Monday in the US?) They suggested Wednesday-Friday for it. The main dishes we ordered came with plenty of vegetables, none of them over-cooked. The 5-piece "set dishes" were all right; I'd hoped for a bit more special, but they were fine. My only criticism is that in every other Korean restaurant I've visited in the US, the small set dishes were refilled whenever they were empty (after checking of course). They weren't here, but that might just have been because it was lunchtime. Still, we ordered (and paid for) dinner sized portions, so that was a bit disappointing. But we are definitely going back!

Pros: So authentic, amazing flavors, fresh ingredients, good value, great people - doing a brisk dine-in and take-out business mid afternoon- seemed like lots of regulars Cons: Vagrant hanging out in front, came in several times asking to use facilities, asking for samples etc. - when he approached our table, the owner finally asked him to leave, but up till then I feel they were way to accommodating - (no I'm not a homeless "hater" but I think there are reasonable boundaries to expect from businesses..."restrooms for customers only" etc.) Fantastic food though, highly recommended- looking forward to working through the menu!

The food here is delicious! We are here with some friends and the food was incredible. The fish was very fresh, and each dish was so flavorful. We will definitely be back!

Let me tell you something, this place has the best food ever, I live in Venice and I drive the 30 mins to go there. The food is made with love and care. The owners are super sweet and really nice about everything. The price is worth it cause you get real fresh quality food. I’m obsessed with ramen and this is the only place that has ever made me happy. Everything is filling and the atmosphere is great, love how quite/small the place is. I mean I tell everyone about this place. Best food I had here in Florida. I hope they stick around for a long time cause I’m gonna be there a lot

Excellent bibimbap. Delicious side dishes. Friendly prompt service. Don’t be put off by the outside. Inside is bright and welcoming. Highly recommend.

I got the bulgogi beef roll delivered, with the veggies inside and my oh my, it's definitely the best roll I've had in a long time! It's huge and is super tasty. I put in my order request that I wouldn't have the fish cake due to allergies. They even wrote on the package "no fish" so they are very conscious of patron allergies. The roll came wrapped in foil so know that ahead of time since rolls usually come in a plastic container. But that was no biggie, the bulgogi beef roll is to die for. I'll definitely buy this again and maybe try dining in next time. Give them a try!

I don’t post that often and when I do it’s usually for a five star outstanding experience. This kimchi Ramen is the best ramen I’ve ever had and the Korean BBQ chicken was so amazing. That’s all I can say.
