Not a big coffee drinker but this is one cup that I truly enjoyed. The cappuccino was creamy and full bodied, so well balanced with the right amount of acidity and bitterness that there is no need for sugar to make it palatable. Very welcoming, polite and attentive staff too. I also like that the ambience was not pretentious like those hipster coffee joints.

I think I've tried almost all the Lattes in the famous place in Singapore. My best Latte now is here. The staff is also warm. Kindness to remember the order request when I revisit.

Seating is VERY limited during safe distancing period. Only have 5 tables and it is heavily “camped” out by long-time laptop users. Tried Iced Hazelnut and it is a good coffee. Not too sweet and strong in taste. Great place for takeaway but bad place if you are looking for a place to sit down and have a drink (because you can never get one). As of this writing, I had been standing inside for 15 minutes and the only reason why I’m inside standing is because it is 2 pm and outside is too freaking hot. Lol. Verdict: Will have a takeaway if I happen to pass by (although chance are rarely since the location is among a row of shophouses with little foot traffic) but would not specifically come here to sit down and drink. Afternote: I finally get to sit down after 35 minutes standing by the counter 😅

Coffee was great! Had a very good flat white though it was more foamy than usual. didn't really check out the food options but i hear they also offer classes to learn how to brew gourmet coffee.

Home barista wannabe exchanged a couple of WhatsApps with Phil, arranged for a demo session and walked out without any purchase. Phil spent close to 2 hours explaining and demo-Ing several machines and grinders, shared a ton of knowledge and tips with us and we actually didn’t feel compelled at any point to purchase anything. Can you believe that?! When we walked out he even bidded us goodbye with a smile! Anyhow, that very same night we made our decision on the machines we wanted and I texted Phil (not that we were considering purchasing anywhere else since our friend highly recommended Highlander after his more than +Ve experience with them). Our Lelit bianca and eureka oro were delivered that very same weekend. The team helped us set up everything, taught 2 noobs how to operate everything and I must say they did a damn good job coz we were pulling excellent shots right after they left haha. Tldr: Great service from Highlander. Don’t need to look elsewhere.

Not happy in service wise. My friend visited this cafe to have a quick cup of coffee while waiting for me. When I arrived, my friend’s coffee just came out but I didn’t order mine because we were going to leave as soon as she finishes her coffee which only took 10 minutes or less (+ it was not busy hours) but the guy at the counter gave us a very unpleasant attitude. My friend even brought her empty cup to him and thank him for the service but he totally ignored. Very disappointed after reading all the good reviews..

Very innocent looking coffee bar from the outside so I didn't have any expectations. I had their iced latte which is surprisingly really delicious 😋. Nice smooth, sweet taste, with flavour notes of berries, and the milk doesn't overpower the coffee. They use their own Arabica house blend from five countries (Brazil, Columbia, Costa Rica, Ethiopia and Indo: Sumatra) Decently priced too.

Nice cosy little shop cafe along this stretch of shop houses. Quiet on a Saturday morning. You can also come by after completing the nearby green corridor walk! A stone's throw away from the Singapore General Hospital and not far from Chinatown.

One of my favourite coffee spots in the whole island (and I’ve tried many!) 😊 their coffee has a balanced, full bodied taste that’s not acidic at all. Normally I get iced lattes but tried their mocha once and it was just as great too, they really don’t skip on the cocoa! Always look forward to getting coffee here before the start of a long day ☺️

A surprise to find this gem, just opposite SGH/OCH amongst the row of shophouses. Very small place but coffee is unforgettable great. The toasties and cookie are great too. Love it. Will definitely come by if I am in the vicinity. Only disadvantage here is there’s little sitting space. Understand from owner they are one and only store and been around a long time and not affiliated to the other Highlander coffee at admiralty !

It might be easy to mistake Highlander Coffee for just a friendly little cafe with good coffee. While it is all that, we've found that it is much more. When wondering about replacing our single-boiler espresso machine with either a heat exchanger machine or a dual boiler machine, I made an appointment through Highlander's website for a demo. Phil led us to the demo area, but instead of jumping into a demo of the machines they retail, he took time to ask us questions to try to understand our espresso/coffee journey and why we feel we may need a change of setup. After identifying some of the challenges we were facing with our setup, Phil took time to explain some of the reasons why we faced those challenges with our setup before sharing about and demonstrating the heat exchanger and dual boiler machines they had available. At no point in the demo was there any attempt to steer us one way or another, or even to suggest we should purchase from Highlander. There was absolutely no pressure to make a decision, even at the end of the demo, but I had pretty much made up my mind. A couple of days later, we placed the order for a Lelit Bianca, which was delivered two and a half weeks ago. Azlan delivered it and set it up, then took time to walk us through the first few cups of coffee pulled on the machine We've very happy with the Bianca and also in purchasing it from Highlander Coffee. If I could turn back the clock, we would probably have done it sooner.

Tasty ciabatta tuna with cheese! Crispy and hot when served. Great taste of coffee too. I ordered 2 cups! :) price is also really affordable.

Small cozy coffee bar with very friendly and kind staff. Limited seats though. Some pastries available but didn't try. Had the aeropress which was well executed by the barista. Flavour of the coffee beans brought out nicely. Will certainly be back if I'm in the area.

I’ve always been a coffee cafe hopper but had I ever realised that I want to settle down for highlander coffee. Their service is genuine and the coffee experience is insurmountable. The person who handles the WhatsApp needs to go for a course on how to speak to his customers. My enquiry was simple. I wanted to know more of getting a Barista for a small event. Came here to view some of the prosumer grinders sold in the cafe. The staff gave me a very detailed explanation of the pros and cons of each grinder and took the time to work within my budget and needs to settle on the eureka grinder. Highly recommended for home brewers.

The Highlander team has been extremely helpful in guiding us in the set up of our home coffee system. After sales support has also been impeccable in terms of follow up by the Highlander team in making sure everything is working as it should. Thanks to them, we are now able to prepare and enjoy excellent coffee in our own home.

Friendly stuff with great support and knowledge sharing. Training is provided from grinder setup, puling perfect shot, milk frothing, even weekly and monthly maintenance tips which you can not find from Youtube. Highly recommended !

After weeks of painstakingly researching on the best place to purchase my Lelit Bianca, I settled on Highlander. While it may not necessarily be the cheapest place to purchase the set, it has more than adequately made up for it with its reliable service and support. After all, saving barely $200 to rob myself of a peace of mind for years without service support elsewhere doesn't sound brilliant to me. Phil had even offered to throw in some freebies to help smoothen my path in setting up my mini coffee bar at home. It is something I genuinely appreciate. No regrets making my purchase here!

I've known this little coffee corner since 2016 after taking their Barista Course then. Highlander has now become my friendly neighborhood café that serves good coffee that stays true to their passion. Don't expect a fancy hipster style cafe that you usually see nowadays popping up everywhere in S'pore but expect a good cup of coffee with loads of knowledge about the subject matter. Great and wonderful staff here too. Love 'em!

Best coffee ever, understated and consistently good!

My favorite coffee spot in Singapore. Their house blend beans are well balanced. The prices for coffees and beans are affordable. Their ice lattes are delicious with a strong coffee taste still unlike other places that just taste like milk. Their long blacks are powerful, not acidic, more rounded toasty flavour. I've moved away from the area, but gladly make the fortnightly pilgrimage to stock up on beans and get my coffee fix. While the cafe is small, it is cosy. I generally visit during off peak hours for some peace and quiet, and do a grab and go during peak hours. Owners and staff are friendly and jovial. They are also knowledgeable.

bought a machine from them, and super satisfied with the service, highly recommend! before purchase they are very helpful in explaining all the machine types they have, and try to find the best machine suited for your needs. delivery and setup was smooth, provided necessary training for you to operate your machine the after sales support is also great, prompt response to miscellaneous queries about the machines and coffee in general. The owner himself was very friendly and helpful, and even invites you to come down to the store if you need any support or need them to teach you anything about the machine or making coffee definitely the best place to get your machine as the end to end service is superb

I keep going back to Highlander for close to 15 years now, not because of lack of choice or the proximity to my house but simply because they, hands down, have the best coffee in town. Aside from that I have been buying, servicing and repairing all of my coffee equipment there - their service and commitment to Coffee is second to none. Last but not least, their staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful, most whom have been working there all the while which at least the way I see it, is a great reflection on the ownership/management.

Miss this place

Have always been a fan of the coffee of Highlander's. Purchased a number of cups of their iced latte for an event recently. Unsurprisingly, our guests loved it. Delivery was on time and service was good.

I have a 13 year old Vibiemme coffee machine that due to my ineptitude in servicing finally gave up on me. Cedric from Highlander came and picked it up, fixed the problems and returned what looked like a new machine (maybe they just cleaned it better than I do). Kept me informed on the issues and the fix they were going to do throughout the process and then came and delivered the machine back to me inside a week. Great service and recommend to anyone looking for expert service and amazing customer experience.

Phil is very willing to share his experience and not shy to make recommendations that he truly thinks is good for the customers' needs, even if they seemingly disagree with what are posted online. I appreciate this approach because it is more guaranteed that the purchase will be suitable for the customers' purpose. The presence of the physical also provides a strong sense of accountability, much unlike my previous experience dealing with online stores. Under Phil's suggestion, I brought home a Breville Smart grinder pro and am enjoying it. Very quiet, very efficient, and makes a good cup without much fuss. Without a doubt, I would recommend Highlander Coffee to all aspiring home baristas! I myself will return for more products in future!

I had a cappuccino and a long black. The coffee had a fresh, light aroma, and a delicate finish. Distinctly different from, and superior to the usual coffee joints. The people running the place were friendly and knowledgeable, true coffee professionals. That there was quite a queue (when there were several other coffee options nearby), and the many repeat customers, are testaments to the quality of the coffee. The wait for a table was well worth it!

Small but cozy cafe with a feel of a family. The coffee (long black is what I have) is good, I like it and you will do so if you are not looking for strong flavor but mild. Had the Salmon Quiche as well, not bad, good for a simple bite on a lazy weekend morning in a dim light.:)

Fantastic service from Phil and the rest of the Highlander Team. Bought the Lelit Bianca from Highlander and have been using it for about a month now and am very pleased with it. Highlander Coffee is really awesome as they have a room at the back of their café for you to test the machines, nothing beats having a feel for the machine before purchasing. Phil is also extremely knowledgeable about coffee and the machines. Overall an excellent experience with Highlander! Highly recommend highlander if you are looking out for an espresso machine!
