The only thing 4 star about this hotel is the view. If you expect good customer service especially at the front desk don’t expect 4 star customer service. They were rude, especially when we asked for house keeping because it never got done (twice in a row). If you are looking for a good hotel to enjoy a friendly atmosphere. Skip this unless the view is a must.

Hotels location was quite centric and easy to get to if you arrive by train. The rooms are rather cute with an open shower and a nice view if you get one facing the mountains. The customer service isn’t great, they aren’t very attentive and they can’t tell you much about the city. If you are planning on doing touristic stuff don’t rely on the hotel being able to tell you the must spots or good places for dinner. The room itself as I said was quite nice, a bit small but nothing bad. The pillows were so flat and they couldn’t give us extra pillows because they said they only had one per room which isn’t great. Overall it’s an ok hotel don’t expect great customer service but it does have a nice view from the top.

Very nice room. Comfortable bed and nice corner to sit and relax. Nice view over the city and station. The glass cabin shower was both nice and a bit original. Friendly and helpful staff. Very good breakfast. Central placed, but the station area by itself is not the nicest.

The location is perfect, and the view from the rooms at the top floors is spectacular. Upgrading to "mountain view" is worth it. Breakfast is very good with lots to choose from and everything you expect. The rooms are minimalistic with different layouts, open bathrooms and separate toilet (with door). The cleaning is acceptable, but far from immaculate: a bit dusty and some hair from previous guests. The room it self, the building, and facilities are close to a 5-star hotel, but the overall experience is affected by some details: a poor selection of bathroom amenities, no coffee and tea facilities (a Nespresso machine can be seen in photos used by the hotel), the firmest mattress ever with only one small pillow, no bathrobes - nothing but the bare minimum.

Everything was fine, except the breakfast isn’t worth the price. The view was amazing though. Also the shower is too revealing. You have a clear view of the shower from the bed, which gives you no privacy at all.

There are many good things, like the location, the parking, aesthetics etc. At first I was very impressed with the price. Many aspects were very ideal and the hotel is beautiful. The location is great for train travelers and I enjoyed the walk to old town. My room was not very clean unfortunately. I also used the gym and the yoga mat was covered in hair and dirt. There are several design aspects that are not practical especially the lighting. The shower is in the bedroom which was cool for me, but would be tough for most I’m sure. My biggest issue was that I asked a front desk attendant about driving to Slovenia for the day regarding tolls. She explained all I needed was my Austrian window sticker, which I had. In fact there are 2 tolls (€16 and €10 if I remember) and a sticker is needed before entering Slovenia as well. Trying to get back to Austria I was stopped at the border and they wanted me to pay a €300 fine for not having the Slovenian sticker. She should have just said she didn’t know and I would have researched it further. I asked if there was ice and was told “maybe” in the bar. I apologize for asking so many questions but most of them were answered as if no one had ever asked before. One couldn’t name a single restaurant. Perfectly nice people so the issue is preparedness not the people themselves.

It's 5 minutes away from the station, and there is a paid underground parking lot (the same entrance and exit road) and the hotel facilities are business-class. The shower booth is glass, but I'm a little embarrassed because there's no shower curtain. And I had a ridiculous experience. I booked an extended double room by paying an extra fee, but the hotel staff gave me the wrong double room. So I told them that you gave me the wrong room and changed it to an extended double room, but they gave me the room where the guest had already checked in. I wasn't angry because I was traveling happily. If a hotel in Korea made such a mistake, I wanted to call the hotel manager and go crazy. It was a young, white-faced female employee. If the manager of the art hotel sees this review, please train the staff properly. All the other staff except the young female employee were kind.

The Arte hotel is a great place to stay. The location is perfect for seeing all attractions in Salzburg and the bus depot only a 4 minute walk. We traveled all over using the bus only Evan from the Airport it drops you opposite the hotel. They are cheap and very reliable. The Hotel itself is great, very large bed and we had a mini bar stocked with soft drinks and one beer plus a chocolate bar replenished each day for free. Staff were friendly and the room was cleaned with fresh bedding and towels daily. Views from the top bar/breakfast area were great. A visit to the old town and the lakes is a must absolutely beautiful. And a boat trip will drop you at many different places along the lake all with beautiful views and architecture. I don't think you could get a better location than the Arte hotel. We also did the Sound of music tour well worth it if you're a fan of the sound of music. The tour guide was entertaining and had great knowledge.

It was an honour to be staying at Arte Hotel Salzburg. The staff and ambience were just wonderful. I will definitely come back and recommend it.

The room was quite good, but not well cleaned. Service Team in the bar was very kind! Receptionists seem not to be very motivated.

Spacious and modern rooms with mountain view. Next to the station. Check in staff were pretty cold, but otherwise a great stay. Free minibar. Our room had no door or curtain separating the bathroom and bedroom. Only suitable for for intubate couples or families with young children.

We loved this hotel very much and enjoyed our stay! But the breakfast was not fresh and there were no house cleaners daily. The room was a little bit dirty, as if they didn’t clean after the guests before us.

Great value for price 👍 The arte Hotel is located centrally at the main station. The room was quiet, had a nice view and was clean but a bit dusty. A highlight was definitely the free minibar. The hotel also offers a (paid) parking garage. Unfortunately, we haven’t had the chance to try the bar or breakfast at the rooftop. The receptionists seemed a bit distracted or disinterested and I’d say weren’t fitting a 4-star experience. However, they were friendly and helpful. We will definitely consider coming back when visiting Salzburg!

I stayed here for two nights, the check in process was quick and one of reception staff was amazing she showed us our room and helped us when we wanted to upgrade our room to bigger one. She was more helpful and kind obviously better than other receptionist who were unsupportive. The parking was specious and while entrance is bit narrow. I would stay here again and recommend this hotel.

Great view! Ultra modern rooms with a great view of the castle and the entire city. Would recommend taking the higher floor.

Not at all worth the price, I paid 140 GBP per night for 3 nights. Not upto the standards. Rooms are not painted well. Half of the places you could see no paint, wholes and so many small diggings on the wall. No view at all as it faces the road. Rooms are really small, no extra pillows or duvets for kids. Shower room and bedroom have just a glass separation with no barrier to keep the germs away, even the hand washing basin is in open with bedroom. WC is just a separate one. Not at all worth it.

Room was comfortable and the hotel was relatively close to the sights. The only weird thing is the shower literally shares a glass wall with the bedroom. We've stayed in other European hotels like this and are mystified as to why this is.

The location was awesome, about a three minute walk from the train station and a short work to really everything else we were looking for. We really liked the room on the 13th floor; the views of the city and surrounding views were amazing. Add to that automatic blinds for when you're ready for lights out. Our Nespresso machine was broken, not a big deal as they brought another later in the day. I ventured out to find a cup for my wife and I in the morning. The lobby only has a machine that takes change (which I didn't have). The breakfast area has coffee, but for whatever reason it's forbidden to take the coffee to your room. For $350/night I feel like I should be able to take that cappuccino on a field trip, especially if I'm paying for it separately. The rooftop bar is really nice. Great views and we had a glass of wine. For whatever reason the 14th floor bar takes cards and the rooftop bar is cash only. In summary, we really loved the room, hotel, and location. I think some of the rules could be more accommodating for a high-end hotel.

The room was clean and modern, although as others mentioned there is only a glass divider between the bedroom and bathroom (I was staying alone so it didn't matter to me). During my stay, on one occasion I asked for housekeeping to stop by and was told they would that afernoon, but they didn't. The location is excellent and near the Mirabellplatz. The breakfast offered was also good. Up until the end of my stay, I was satisfied for the price. On the last day of my visit, as I was checking out, I was informed I had not paid for the room and asked to pay 1200 Euro. I showed the reception desk the receipt from the third party booking site showing I'd paid for my stay in advance, but they refused to accept this and weren't very helpful or understanding about the situation. I ended up paying because I needed to leave and get to the airport. After returning home, I was able to learn from the booking site that the hotel had admitted it was their mistake and was issuing me a refund of the charge. I reached out to the hotel to confirm the refund, which they did, but at no point did they apologize for the error on their side. While I was refunded, it was $10 less than what I'd paid. Ultimately, this really tarnished my experience with the hotel and its service and I'm not sure I'd recommend staying here.

Arte Hotel Salzburg was very nice. Very clean (and rather large) room, with a lovely city view of Salzburg. Our room was laid out nicely and felt more like an apartment than a hotel room. The only thing I would’ve improved is more privacy in their showers. There is no bathroom door and the shower is made of glass.

The location of the hotel was excellent, earning a 5/5 rating. However, while the rooms were acceptable, the service was deplorable. I pre-booked a 3-day stay, paying in advance, which included parking fees. Upon my arrival, despite being assured of available parking, the hotel's lot was completely full. Consequently, I was forced to park nearly a mile away. Upon deciding to cancel my reservation due to this inconvenience, they still charged me for the full 3 days. Adding insult to injury, they inexplicably charged me for another 3 days upon check-out. I had to return to the hotel to sort out the overcharging issue and secure a refund. In essence, for a mere 13-hour stay, they billed me for an outrageous total of 6 days. This whole experience felt like a scam. I urge everyone to steer clear of this hotel and their underhanded practices.

Good place to stay and very nice bar at the roof. Clean, not noisy and has a good location. Only 12-15 minutes(by walk) to the old city centre.

:) - Really friendly Hotel staff - Nice views from the room - Comfy bed - Safe box available - Well located. You have Mirabell Palace really close and Salzburg main station (Hauptbahnhof) just in front of Hotel's door. It takes also nothing to get in the Altstadt by foot. - Delightful rooftop bar to take a drink enjoying the views. :( - Parking in the area is not so easy so take this into account if you are travelling by car. The hotel offers also a parking, but I find it quite expensive (18€ per day). - The hotel has 15 levels that can be accessed by the use of 2 elevators (and, of course, staircase). If like it happened to us, you are staying on floor 11th and one lift is out of service, it is quite annoying as it takes so much time to go up/down (lot of people to transit).

The room is quite nice, but the sheets are too rough, and no toothpaste ;( Service is nice, but the reception somehow was surprised that I don't speak German :) Buffet is great, cocktails 9/10 . TV system is a bit old already

Location is amazing as you can walk to main places in the city within 10-20 minutes, rooms are clean, very quiet even with the train station below, and the view from the room with the floor to ceiling was beautiful. However we were disappointed that the rooftop bar was closed due to a party.

The Arte hotel is very good and ideally situated above the main train station which is what I needed in order to catch an early train. As it is an ultra-modern concept hotel in a glass tower-box it has great views of the old town and of the train station for train lovers (but the room is quiet), which you also enjoy from the breakfast lounge and bar. The breakfast was very good with a large variety. It was clean and has a small aerobic gym and sauna and the room walls are exposed concrete. PLEASE NOTE that the shower is completely open to the room and only the toilet is separated by door and this may not be for every one. You cannot open the window as well and have to use the AC. The over-all feeling is a bit cold but I guess it is OK for 1-2 nights. WiFi was OK and they provided me with a breakfast box alternative as I had to catch an early train.

Nice modern and minimalistic hotel next to the train station. Our room was fine with an excellent bed and a great walk in shower. The breakfast buffet is on the 15th Floor with beautiful city and mountain views. There is free WiFi throughout the hotel and the staff was friendly.

The location is very good for access to the train station and to the historic centre of Salzburg. The rooms are very well appointed and have great views, particularly for trainspotters if you're on the right side of the hotel. There's also a secure underground car park which does appear to fill up on weekends and isn't free but is very convenient. The bar on the top floor is also worth a visit for a drink in the evening as you do get decent views of Salzburg. There was a slightly questionable stain on the headboard and the breakfast seemed a little overpriced. Really these are very minor though and there's not much to count against this hotel.

Very comfortable, relaxing room. A breakfast that's very tasty, with many available options. And the view, when having it? Amazing! Can't wait to return to Salzburg to book it once again. 👌

Very Nice Hotel with a Great View over the City. Rooms are Small but Comfortable. The Open Shower was something different but Quite nice. The Rooftop Bar offers good drinks and a great View.

Good place close to train, bus and the airport. Close to two supermarkets (Billa) which is very handy. Staff very friendly and rooftop bar view quite nice. room upsides: silent even though the train station is so close it was very quiet. Also, coffee machine in the lobby to buy. Small downsides: deposit for a kettle not auto included and because room is very small there is no real appropriate lounge area or spare space. Also air con was on but adequate at best... more like a fan rather than cold air. Overall good placement for hotel would stay again.

Excellent location close to the station. Rooms are small but modern and well equipped. Fabulous service from the young lady on the check in desk.

Absolute best hotel. Location is right near the main station, the staff is super friendly, the hotel is clean and they have a rooftop bar. Would definitely recommend. The one picture is from the lift, the second is from the rooftop bar

Check in was quick since rooms are pre-assigned. Since we arrived early, had to wait till 3PM. Was served by Ahmed, very patronising receptionist, ask for my name, but we needed some time to confirm who made the reservation and got his snarky response. Made payment and since there was a time we kill, we dropped our bags with him, he took the bags, placed them under the concrete stairs and said it’s safer than checking it into their baggage office. WOW! Room television has no English options.

The staff downstairs were so nice, so I would like to give it a better score, unfortunately the bed quality was so poor that it lost two stars. The pillow in particular is something I would expect to see in a college dorm, not a Hotel. Also, the bathroom provides no privacy and no option to blacken the windows which wasn’t very enjoyable.

  • 5/5 Mark C. 2 years ago on Google
The hotel is very accommodating and my room was excellent and modern. The rooms are amazingly soundproof being so close to the train station. I did not hear the train at all and it is a 15 minute walk to Central Salzburg and the old town. Additionally, the rooftop bar is one of the best views of Salzburg outside of the Steinterasse Restaurant and the Mirabel itself. This is coming from someone who travels often internationally and, I will definitely stay here again.
