I don't know who is giving this bridge less than a five but you can beat the easy walk/bike from Anastasia to downtown plus there is all sorts of scenery under the bridge. You can see dolphin, fish, cannonball jellies, fisherman, boats, yachts, and even pirate ships. I presume this is a prime viewing area for the Christmas boat parade. Best way to avoid parking in downtown saint Augustine is to walk or ride your bike there.

Great bridge with a lot of history. A new bridge is being built to help traffic due to the draw bridge being needed.

The Bridge of Lions stands as a captivating landmark in St. Augustine, seamlessly connecting the Matanzas River with the vibrant downtown area. The surroundings of the bridge offer spectacular views, and I had the fortunate opportunity to capture its beauty in the serene morning, the golden hues of the evening, and the enchanting night lights. This iconic structure, the Bridge of Lions, is not only a visual delight but also holds deep historical and architectural significance within the fabric of St. Augustine. Its enduring charm contributes to the rich tapestry of this historic city.

I love waking across this bridge day or night, the view is always incredible! There's a killer view of the waterways as well as the fort and historic downtown from here. Many times I have seen dolphins from up here as well as every shape and sized boat pass by too. Do yourself a favor and walk over to the East side of the bridge to get away from the tourist side of things and have dinner at O'steens while you are at it!

An amazing, safe place to walk and/or work out. I can utilize the safe bridge walking area for push ups, modified pull ups, squats and triceps dips. According to my fitness tracker, you get in a basic mile if you take the time to pet a lion, go across, pet a lion on the othside and return to start. You will also get the most amazing pics at dawn and dusk. These pics are not doctored...just used my smart phone.

This is a gorgeouss bridge, and you can get some good views from the middle. The incline isn't bad, and it's about a 5 minute walk to the middle.

This is a pretty cool bridge, we got to see it open up and a few boats went through. The lion statues are pretty cool.

6/2/23-6/4/23. Awesome bridge with lots of history. Fun walk across the bridge and if you are lucky you will get to see a boat go through and they will lift the drawbridge up!! We always stay close by and walk into downtown St. Augustin.

Beautiful and interesting views. There is a walk over. The sunsets are nice on the far end of the bridge. You can view the inlet and bay area. At times you can see dolphin. There are also many boats that pass by and several marinas are in view. Its a draw bridge.

Although I was born & raised in St. Augustine, I still enjoy the beauty and the History of the Lions Bridge. On this day, I enjoyed walking over the bridge, even as the drawbridge was lifted. It enabled me to really take-in the scenery and watch the gorgeous sailboats cruise by, as the cool breeze flowed through my hair. I highly recommend anyone to take a stroll across The Lions Bridge. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is the most iconic bridge in beautiful city of St. Augustine! It provides northern access to Anastasia Island from downtown St. Augustine. It is a working draw bridge as well for local marine traffic. Many scenic views and beautiful photo opportunities are available both on the bridge and surrounding bay front areas. The bridge has a sidewalk on either side as well that is protected from the road traffic which provides for a nice walk and fantastic way to take in the amazing views.

What a iconic stretch of strength, beauty, and history, spanning from the Ancient City to Anastasia Island. Seeing is believing, and experience is everything, it is what seperates the talkers from the walkers.. I digress..what a beauty, it truly is a gorgeous draw bridge..and don't just drive it..get out and walk it..take in the air, and remember who you are and where your going...and when you do, ponder how many bridges it might take to get there, and how many it took to get to this one, and when you get to this one, look around and remember life is good, and short, so go drive some bridges!

Whether staying on Anastasia Island or in the historic district of St. Augustine, be sure to walk across this fabulous bridge. It provides a lovely view of the historical waterfront of old town especially at night. If you go during the Christmas season, the lights are spectacular!

This ornate and historic draw bridge is a symbol of the city of St Augustine. During peak times, and when the draw bridge is up there can be some traffic congestion. I strongly recommend walking the bridge over to Anastasia Island, as the views of the city & island beyond are quite incomparable and a walking lane is provided on both sides of the road.

A place which has mesmerizing view after the sun sets down. Not all the lights were lit on the evening we visited St Augustine, but the few lights were doing wonders at the water reflection on the back water.

Public Service Announcement; If you are driving around the bridge be super careful of tourists. It's very odd but true that tourists will just walk out in front of your vehicle without looking around in this area. It's almost as if they think they are at Disney and assume you will stop as they bumble into the streets. Downtown St Augustine has gotten so busy it's a little surprising that more visitors aren't killed every year in traffic fatalities.

Beautiful feature that shows great form AND function! The bridge is walkable, and the lion features and other details are wonderful to see. The wind blows across the bridge, so it does make for a nice walk, and you’ll see joggers and bicyclists making use of it. Do take a look, even if you just drive by!

Nice view from the bridge. Too windy and cold in the winter. You can take the side walk. Lucky to see the opening bridge in action while I was on the bridge.

Beautiful historic bridge. So glad there are pedestrian walkways on both sides. I walked halfway across to experience the bridge and get photos from the middle. I love bridges and this is a really nice one. So glad we got to experience it. Highly recommended.

I was driving from Anastasia Island towards St. Augustine downtown at sunset time and was amazed by what I see. I came back the next day and had a walk cross the bridge. It was unforgettable!

This is a essential focal point of St. Augustine that adorns the beautiful waterway. The bridge is often busy with the draw bridge opening throughout the day for nice sailboats and the once in awhile big yachts. The bridge dumps cars right into the heart of the city with the old historic market straight ahead and Flagler College standing pristine with its Spanish Architecture. If you like to run, get up early and run across the bridge and along the seawall towards the fort. You'll catch epic sunrises and will forever remember this bridge and surrounding beauty.

Walking over this bridge takes you back through history. The bridge opens on the hour and half all day long so plan accordingly. WONDERFUL!

I love this bridge as old as it is. It connects the charm of the old city to the island and beyond. The first time i saw this bridge was during nights of lights and it was one of those things you will never ever forget. I hope more people can come to St. Augustine and experience this beautiful landmark.

Beautifully sculpted lions. Also makes for amazing night photography with the lights over Matanzas Bay.
