👍👍 I will always come back to this place! Perfect for families and my wife and I felt comfortable with our kids running around and exploring. It was quiet at night, even if there was a big group up late, the spaces are set up in a way that it never bothered anyone. There's also several spaces right alo... People often mention night,

I will always come back to this place! Perfect for families and my wife and I felt comfortable with our kids running around and exploring. It was quiet at night, even if there was a big group up late, the spaces are set up in a way that it never bothered anyone. There's also several spaces right along the The Smith River. The best part was the host, I believe Robin is her name, she's so rad! She hooked us up with wood that lasted us the few days, it put the bundle we came in with from the store that we burned in a couple hours, to shame.. she even came right back and showed us how to make a bad*** fire! Great time just hanging with her she made us feel so welcome and she made sure once a day that we were still set up and asked if she could help with or get us anything. We've never experienced such a well-kept, clean campground/bathrooms, with a great host in the 20 years we've been camping. I never write reviews but we camp all the time and I felt this place needed a shout-out.

Great night stop! (Mid summer 2021) We drove into this site around 6pm on a Sunday and easily found a spot (with still 2-3 sites open). The best spots are along the river! Each site cost $20. The campsites are relatively close to each other. Some more than others. Restrooms were decently clean! Bring your own fire wood. The water was so clean, fresh, and warm! We went for a sunset swim ❤️ Camp is very close to the highway. You can hear trucks and cars passing. It got pretty chilly at night time, I wish I had an extra jacket and blanket. It got fairly misty over night and early morning. I really did enjoy this place!

The campsite was small but beautiful. The river was clear and warm. The camp host however, leaves a lot to be desired. Our time was peaceful until our last night when 2 sets of people set up camp. Both were loud with one set stayed up until 4am. Both ignored the courteous quiet hours between 10pm and 7am. A man complained to the camp host the next morning and she said she didn't care. Also, one out of the three toilets in the women's bathroom had a seat. She was lax in filling the toilet paper and toilet seat covers. A man had to go get a payment envelope and she gave him only one. It took her 6 hours to bring more payment envelopes.

Love this camp ground...could use an update on bathrooms and possibly put showers in. It is county owned so showers with a coin deposit per shower would still benefit the county and help the campers out that stay for a longer visit. Also maybe a little snack bar. Even if it's only open a couple hours a day, again it would benefit the county financially!

It was very dark and not well lit. It took us 1/2 hour just trying to find our way out and back to hwy 101. Just stopped by to use the restroom. The trail...path to the restroom was muddy and slippery. I fell getting to it and leaving it. If you go at night take a flashlight. But good luck finding your way back to the highway.

Camped late season, cool big trees. Bathroom is dirty and household trash has been dumped by the entrance

😠 If I could give zero stars I would. This was our second year coming to the campground, last year we fell in love with the location and the beauty of camping in the heart of the redwoods. This year upon arrival I was told by staff that improvements were underway not realizing the extent of devastatio...

😐 Have mixed feelings, but this stay was not the best. Love that it is FCFS since we to tend to wander without set plans and don't always know where we will spend the night. There are about 30 sites with porta potties with handwashing station, trash cans, and running water faucets at few spots through...
