Scammed don’t go to this restaurant, I love street food but the hygenic was very poor, unprofessional. The price on the menu and after you want to pay was different price. I tried this dish at other place before and at this place taste wasn’t good at all and not authentic.

Probably one of the oldest restaurant in Hanoi but definitely the worst. I should have trusted Google and not coming to this place. This place has been around yet there was no review when I looked it up. That should have been a red flag. I came to this place 7 years ago. It probably had a new cook and/or new owner. It was practically empty this time. The portion is smaller. We have to ask for every little condiments. The fish was not fresh at all. The bill came out illegible. I ended paying VND 526,000 for 2 people with no alcohol/ beer.

Food was ok however not worth the price. Price per person 170K VND but grilled fish portion served seem is for one person regardless how many in a group. So 510k VND 3 pax for 1 small portion is a no go.

I agree with other reviewers, it's overpriced for very small proportions. And we saw a mouse/rat while eating. Photos attached. We quickly finished and ran out! Skip it.

Please note there are 2 shops with the same name and using the same sign board. So they have guys outside canvassing you to go into their shop. If you look at the shops, the one on the right is 25 and left is 27 We ate at 27. Food was good

This restaurant is popular with the locals. The fish and pork stomach intestine is pretty good. However, the portion size for 2 is on the small side. Although the restaurant was packed we got a table right away. This restaurant only serves fish and pork stomach intestines and the waiter prepares it for you. Around 200k per person.

Crowded shop. But the service is top notch! Super friendly, super accommodating. The serve a traditional dish - were fish is coated in some yellow seasoning (a turmeric spice blend i presume) and placed into a hot pan, then a big heap of dill and spring onion is added on top. Then whole thing is allowed to cook slowly, to produce the most amazing aroma. Then you take some rice noodles, a piece of fish, some of the herbs we pan fried, some fresh mint, peanuts, onions and fish sauce. And let me tell you - the flavors, the ingredients and the combination. 😮‍💨 Phenomenal! ✨Score: 10/10 ✨ *************************** Can Eat One Mehhh??? One amazing dining experience - from start to end. Love love love!!!

I have come to this place a few times over the last decade or so. It is great to see that they have done well and prospered They are best know for their name sake, Cha Ca, a kind of sizzling pan with marinated fish fillets with dill and spring onion. I’d say that they have kept up the quality of the dish and have honed their operation to such a degree that you don’t have to wait long despite the huge number of diners The atmosphere has dropped a bit simply because it has become so popular. Won’t hold it against them, though

Quite expensive with just 5 pieces of fish for 1 pax set menu (locals get a different menu with more options at a cheaper price). Fish taste average, spring rolls are good. The place was very crowded but it's quite likely to get a table fast as the restaurant has a few floors.

This review is coming from a Vietnamese American, a viet Kieu. I saw that there’s this grilled fish dish in Hanoi that is a speciality here. I gave it a try on a Sunday night with my fiancé. And I was to say I was terrified because of the bad reviews here. Me and the misses have a sensitive stomach, but we stumbled upon this restaurant with two gents (an older dude and his son) The price is 170,000 a person. I know this is steep, however, this is the going market rate for this specialty dish in vietnam. The fish they served has been prepared really well. It’s filleted, deboned. Cat fish has hella bones and you get to enjoy big chunks of it here with out any bones. People complain about how steep it is… but I think it’s reasonable. You can’t compare this to pho or the nem cuon. Pho/spring rolls/other noodle soups/banh mi are prepared in large batches and can be served to the masses at a lower prices and have way higher margins. Most of the reviewers on here are slamming it for the price, and I’m hoping my 5 star can help this place out because the two gents were very friendly and were doing their best to explain this dish to my southern Vietnamese heritage self lol. Shout out to the old dude helping me because I was like “pls help. Idk how to eat this” After the fish was cooked, veggies poured in, the dish was ready to eat. I combined the noodle, fish, veggies, and this grey looking sauce. It is mixed shrimp paste- smells strong, but it’s cool. Trust me. It’s sweet and goes well with the veggie and fish. A normal cat fish (entire fish) in the states cost 75-90USD at a Vietnamese restaurant (I’m from Boston). This restaurant charging 170K is fair and is actually cheaper than the other popular counterparts in Hanoi… charging 225K. I actually think I’m going to come back again and vlog it because people coming in here and destroying this restaurant with reviews calling it a scam and being dirty. And frankly, they don’t know any better. I was sitting here nervous af reading the reviews saying this place is dirty, not fresh, staff isn’t nice… and yo these ppl seriously don’t know better. I enjoyed it a lot and I’m a little sad this place was empty and has a 2.6 star review because it’s “steep” TLDR: its grilled cat fish. It’s not pho, it’s not spring rolls so you can’t expect 45K for the bill. the price is 170K. It was delicious. 24 hours later, No stomach issues reported from either me or the fiancé. Will come back again before I leave because I love cat fish.

Only one thing in the menu so it is super easy to order! There are 2 branches side by side, we went where the locals ate. Not as beautiful as the other place, but still ambiance and food was very tasty. Posting a step by step guide on how to eat the cha ca. Should try once in your life 😍

I went here because the reception at a hotel suggested me. Their menu has only drinks options since the main dish here is only cha Ca (grilled lang fish). There are 2 men staffs in the resto. The younger man can speak English and the older man tried to help us with grilling fish and veggies in the pan and teaching us how to eat the dish. The fish was served in medium size portion for Asian. We have to grill and add veggies by ourselves. When the fish is cooked. We can eat it with rice noodles and sauce(น้ำพริกกระปิ)+ chiili+peanuts+limes. The taste is fine (not bad) and you can have an exp of cooking and eating like Vietnamese. However, I think the price is too high for medium size portion for Asian. It's 170k per person and we paid in usd, which was about $14+$1(2bottles of water) with Google converter at that time.

It’s a waste of money going here! Try somewhere else. Believe me! We regret discarding and not believing the negative reviews and still decided to try here. The moment you sit, they will immediately put the stinky fish on your table. It looks like the fish is not properly stored and left exposed for quite a long time un covered. Hello bacteria! We did not even finish our food. We don’t dare! The food looks dirty! It’s such a bad experience in Hanoi! We are charged for 800k plus for 3 people without leaving us a choice! Hygiene: 0 star Also, the old man staff will stand beside your table to make sure that you eat. He’s like a watch guard. Such a bad experience. Please save yourself and money and do NOT go here

This restaurant came highly recommended and definitely did not disappoint. They only have one item on the menu, which means service is quick, and there is very little wait time from the moment you sit down until the food is delivered. So what is Cha Cha? It's basically pan-fried turmeric fish with a ton of fresh dill and green onions. It's served with fresh noodles, roasted peanuts, veggies, and two sauces. You'll also receive a side of spring rolls. The fish is brought to the table and reheated/cooked with the dill and spring onions over a tiny heater. After you're served by the waiter, you can continue adding in the rest of the onions and dill at your leisure. Overall, it was a very tasty meal. The building is quite nice. However, we were seated right by the cash register, which resulted in my chair being continually grabbed by servers on the back every time they passed by to go to the cash. I'd suggest sitting somewhere else! Other than that, though, it was a very good meal, and I would recommend you try it when in Hanoi. It's popular for a reason.

Highlands Coffee is a Vietnamese Coffee Chain set up by Vietnamese American David Thai in Hanoi, 1999. Today, it has been acquired by Jollibee Foods Corp and will be expanding its operations further in Vietnam. This time, we visited an unique Highlands Coffee outlet at Truc Bach Lake – a floating boat cafe to be exact! This particular Highlands Coffee is actually located on a floating platform that overlooks Truc Bach Lake. You can either walk in via the main road or like what we saw, motorists were able to park in front of the entrance and walk right in. Within, it is just like any other Highlands Coffee. Nope, it wasn’t shaky, unstable or anything like that. Hence, you don’t have to worry about being “sea-sick” while dining at the Highlands Coffee Floating Boat Cafe… There are two levels to the Highlands Coffee Floating Cafe. At the first level, it is where you order the food and drinks. There are coffee seats and most importantly, it is indoors. So this level is protected from the elements, whether it is the hot summer’s day heat or the wintry cold winds. At level 2, it is where the views are at, overlooking Truc Bach Lake… For more details, visit 2bearbear today!

Absolutely delicious! One of the tastiest meals I've had in Vietnam. For just 2 people, a more balanced order would be Phở Chiên Phồng and Pho Cuon to share. The service was perfectly acceptable but I was there to taste delicious food rather than be shmoozed by waiters.

Pho cuon were great and tasty. Only gripe is that the waitress rearranged them with her bare hands after plonking them on my table.... Great work, thank you for touching my food... -_- well it's been 2 days now and we haven't gotten sick but that's still very bad practice. The deep fried things were not so good. They're not pillows; they're basically a square of stack of rice noodle, 4 or so layers which they then batter and deep fry (see photo). The batter was kind of boring. The stir fry on top (Choi sum, tomato, onion and beef) was a Chinese style stir fry, which was disappointing to me (not really looking to eat Chinese food). This dish was very popular with neighbouring tables though but I can't recommend. Corn was ok, nothing special. Come for the pho cuon only.

3 people ate in this restaurant. Food: fresh. Taste, not bad, not very special. Not as skilful and delicious as Chinese food. Food type: not many. Only 3 majors as photos shown. Basically all customers would order anyone of that three dashes . Environment: not clean enough. Many tissues leaving on the floor without cleaning. Service: so so. Location: should be fine as it sit in the hot area within the lake.

If you’re looking for something different in Hanoi, you’ve got to come here for their fish and dill stirfry dish that is a tasty mess of a meal. Their spring rolls are also unique and slightly addictive. Location is quite beautiful from the outside and they have multiple floors for seating. Overall definitely worth a visit!

This is the real deal Hanoi authentic experience. In a tiny building up a narrow steep staircase and with basic wooden tables and chairs, open window, a house temple under the ceiling. There is one dish, fish in fish oil soup cooked on a table burner with tons of vegetables, peanuts, a fermented fish sauces, little chili bits if one chooses, herbs over thin rice noodles. You can even get a beer glass to drink from if you ask. Service is quick and efficient. This is a must do food experience. Flavors are fresh and intense and very herby, fish quality is great, the nuts make it crunchy. I recommend to add a little chili for the extra bite. Don’t get this wrong: if you want fancy, this is the wrong place. If you want absolutely authentic and really feel immersed in the old Hanoi quarter and enjoy a super relaxing lunch, this is the right choice. Mind your head coming up the stairs. Love this place

Cha ca la vong is considered one of the dishes you should try before you die. And this restaurant serves it very well. Probably the most authentic one I've ever had. This is supported by how busy this place gets, mostly the locals. We ordered 2 portions: the turmeric fish and its intestines. They were well-seasoned and I loved that they added so much dills and green onions. Dipping sauce was good too. Overall, I had a great experience and will definitely be back for more!

We were recommended this place by our hotel staff. Went in with very low expectations. It was a great experience. The food was delicious. We were lucky to not have to wait. Just one item on the menu and it was absolutely delicious. The spring roll was fresh and crispy. Not too over priced either. Seems like a very popular restaurant in the area. Would highly recommend it if you're ever in the area .

True authentic La Vong Grilled fish. The restaurant itself can tell the history of this famous grilled fish dish. If you want to taste this famous local dish, you must be open to a new kind of taste, because the purple special fish sauce had a really strong smell. Don't worry, many people, after tasting, some hate it, others love it forever. My advice is to try it just a little bit, before you smell it. It's a family business, and it's not for people who want a 5 star service. Everything is in the old times, the staff and stuff. Hope you will enjoy it like me. Or there are many other new restaurants that serve this dish. More fancy but not the original first one.

Hidden within small alley, a 3-4 storey building housed a large space for perhaps a hundred diners at a time. Their Lã Vọng grilled fish is excellent with fresh ingredients including the fish, its stomach, traditional dill and other herbs served with the dish, and the famous fermented shrimp paste. If fermented shrimp paste is too strong for you, that’s okay as they have alternative fish sauce. The Là Ving grilled fish is served with rice vermicelli and made a wholesome hot meal for anyone. They also have rolls here but the signature is really the Lã Vọng grilled fish. Never miss it if you get to Ha Noi! Staffs are quick. If you’re able to get a table in Ground floor that’s the best as it’s more airy and nicely decorated there. The place also has a tiny lift in case you don’t want to use stairs. Recommended!

We were recommended by another tourist to try this place. It was bustling when we visited for dinner at around 7.30pm on a Monday evening. There is only one dish, which is their fried fish and you order it in portions. My partner and I ordered 2 portions initially. The server fried the fish in the herbs for us. He also showed us how to build a bowl with the vermicelli and the condiments provided (peanuts, spring onion, mint leaf, fish sauce, chilis). The fish was so tender and fresh - we have not tried anything like this before. It was so good that we ordered 1 more portion 😂 I felt a bit rushed eating here because the servers are moving really fast to serve and to cook the food. We didn’t really stay that long because it was quite noisy inside too. Overall, it’s really worth a try if you’re in the area. One of our best meals in Hanoi! :) Our bill came up to VND500k ++.

A popular restaurant with local so that’s for sure positive! Lovely decor as you walk through the gates prior to entering the restaurant. We got a table straight away once we worked out which door to enter through. Only one option on the menu; turmeric marinated fish, with spring onions and dill, with a small selection of dry herbs, noodles, sauce and spring rolls. The waitress cooks the dish in front of you and then shows you how to build your bowl. The combination of noodles, fish, herbs, peanuts and sauce was delicious. I highly recommend you try this place.

An interesting local restaurant that is said to have been operating for 5 generations. Only ONE menu - fish fried in dill and other vegetables by yourself or by the host at your table. The fish is Cà Làng ( a type of catfish?). Very tasty and no muddy flavour. You can get cold beer here. Restaurant is upstairs of what looks like a home.

This restaurant seems popular with the locals! When we went, we were ushered to a table, and food was served without showing us a menu - I guess there is only one set on offer? I saw another review saying that the only set on offer was fish and intestines but for us, the waiter cooked tumeric marinated fish with spring onion at our table. Either way, the fish was really yummy and service was fast and efficient. Recommend!

Asked for a vegetarian option and was pointed at Pho Cuon. Turns out, its just lettuce rolled in rice paper with (most of) the meat pulled out. The beef in other dishes was chewy. Not particularly clean, and no where to wash your hands after using the toilet.

Pho is the name of the noodle in the eponymous soup noodle dish. Once, I got that misconception out of my head, fried pho made a whole lot more sense. The pho cuon uses uncut sheets that would become pho noodles as a wrapping for herbs and meat. For my tastes it was a bit bland but apparently the point of the dish is to be light and refreshing (which it is). The fried pho on the other hand is delicious. Pho sheets are layered up then deep fried to make a light airy puff. It is served with herbs, beef and a gravy-like sauce. This is delicious and the puffs are perfect to soak up the sauce. Service is a acceptable, this isn't a fine dining restaurant so set your expectations accordingly. Restaurant was clean and well lit. Again, this isn't a fine dining restaurant so set your expectations accordingly.

Awesome food. My first time having pho cuon (marinated beef, lettuce, and herbs rolled inside very wide steamed pho rice noodles). Dipped in the fish sauce, it is a very fantastic tasting dish. I really liked it. We also ordered meatless pho chien phong (fried pho pillows with a mountain of green veggie, tomato, and onion stir fried in oyster sauce) meatless pho chien trung (fried batter of cut rice papers mixed with egg with the same mountain of veg stir fry). Both were very tasty when the fried pho were still crispy. The veg stir fry was very tasty and savory. The pho chien trung is like Vietnamese rösti in my opinion. Finally, we ordered the cha ngan as well (marinated pork with a mountain of holy basil on top of it) that is eaten with mam tom (the infamous Vietnamese shrimp paste sauce). The pork itself was already tasty from the spice marinade but the saltiness was already reduced to accommodate for the mam tom. The mam tom itself was on the mild side of the spectrum. Quite sweet, slightly savory, and very very inoffensive flavoring (Malay belacan/Indonesian terasi was stronger than this). Service was quick and efficient. Really good experience. I would come back to this place if I visit Hanoi again in the future.

Probably the most photogenic among all Highlands Coffee branches in Vietnam. Located in Truc Bach Lake - very near the John McCain Memorial (which history buffs know about,). The menu is, of course just the same as other Highlands branches. PRO TIP: Choose a table on the 2nd floor for better views. But it will get chilly during winter (so please prepare).

We ordered pho cuon and the fried pho. Both of the dishes were really bad and the waiter made the atmosphere very uncomfortable. After ordering the waiter went to the back, turned the microwave on and 30 seconds later we were served their famous pho rolls. The taste was rather bland and the condiments to adjust your sauce on the table looked quite dirty. The fat from the fried pho tasted old, we really didn’t feel well after the meal. So really not worth the money.

Delicious grilled fish with spring onions and other veggies and rice vermicelli. Only one option and one price per person though, but overall a good dining experience. Wash it down with a beer or two. Not for tourists who are cheap (like some of the reviewers) 😆

I have no idea abt the food. Everything is good. However, the owener is strictly, they only serve per person. It’s a pity for some ppl who come to try new food, share dish together. Price is not cheap. 550k dong per 2. 2dishes no drink😢

Price for us was 170,000/pp. Great food with perfect seasoning. Some instructions for people who don’t know how to eat the dish (at least that’s how we enjoyed it): Put a bit of the rice noodle into your bowl, put the fish and its seasoning herbs from three pan into your bowl, mix the peanuts, coriander and the spring onions on the side and the yellow liquid into your bowl (chilli optional). And there you have it! Also, they only have us the sweet and sour sauce cause we are clearly foreigners, but if you want to eat like locals, you can ask for the shrimp sauce. (Mắm tôm)

We were recommended to try this dish - cha ca. It was amazing! This restaurant only serves cha ca, and it was done to perfection. The fish was nicely marinated, and the dill added another level of flavour to the entire dish. Food was served promptly, and we were shown how to prepare the dish. Google Maps brought us to one address, but we were ushered to another building, which looks like a newly renovated building. If you visit Hanoi, do not miss this establishment. You will not regret it. My son, who does not enjoy fish, loved it.

This was one of the highlight foods we tried in our 2-week trip to Vietnam. Delicious! The restaurant has a beautiful layout in the outside and a warm atmosphere inside. The service is super fast and very helpful explaining every costumer their set menu and how to cook and eat the Chả cá which is very funny and so yummy!! I recommend everyone to try Chả cá in this restaurant while in Hanoi.

Highly recommend. Good food. The fish is juicy, boneless, not fishy and shrimp sauce is really nice to mix with. Staff is helpful and food is served quickly. Should call to book the reservation first as it’s very crowded, especially on weekends.

Great Pho Cuon (pho rolls), fast service. Recommend you to try other meals too. Pho Chien was perfect.

  • 5/5 Ong Y. 2 years ago on Google
Sells a lot of pho-related dishes prepared in different ways. The stir-fry pho tastes like hor fun (for those who know what that is). Fried pho was great, tastes like tempura with the dipping sauce. Pho rolls were good. Prices are very reasonable (65-75k for the mains)

  • 5/5 cong L. 3 years ago on Google
7k per pho cuon, very tasty. Would also recommend the pho chien phong as it was equally as tasty.

Subtle and well balanced flavours, the fried rice noodles add great texture and stayed crispy right to the end of the meal. Very reasonable price. I personally did not enjoy the fries at all, I think they're fried in coconut oil which gives them a distinct taste.

Nice food, lots of choices and enough variation. Seasoning was OK, you can add chili peppers or sauce to your liking

In general, it’s not a bad cafe and I can say that I’ve really enjoyed their Chicken Banh Mi, but coffee here was too expensive and rather mediocre. Don’t think I’ll visit this place again.

Price has increased a little bit but still considering good. Table is clean and service is nice. I have a feeling that the fried noodle is not flavor as it used to be but the rolling one is still top 1 there

A various choices in the menu but highly recommend phở xào giòn mềm. A very good point is the restaurant is spacious enough to serve amount of customers in both the 1st and 2nd floor and air condition is available haha. But why do they have to stand outside of the street to invite the customers ? Hey, if your restaurant is good ( actually it can be very good bcz... they have a lot of review on gg map.

So delicious! The two men working there were very welcoming and helped me out when I didn't know what to do. The food was very clean and well prepped. I was happy paying 170k 😊

Must try in Hanoi, not as oily as I thought it to be, set menu for tourists are a must/ 176,000 per person which includes the fish and spring roll. Served on the hot pot and although a tourist recommendation, you can still see many locals patronizing this restaurant

I had an amazing dining experience at Cha Cả Tháng Long! This place serves one of the best Cha Cả (Vietnamese grilled fish) in Hanoi. The flavors were exquisite, and the fish was perfectly cooked. Beyond the delicious food, the restaurant itself is a gem! The beautiful renovated nostalgic building adds to the overall charm of the place, making it a delightful dining destination. The ambiance is warm and inviting, making you feel right at home. The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring that we had a memorable time. I highly recommend visiting Cha Cả Tháng Long to savor authentic Vietnamese cuisine in a captivating setting. I can't wait to come back and try more dishes! 👌🍽️🏮

Food was excellent. There's a set menu and they bring you a pot on your table to which they add fish and vegetables and then a range of sides. Was packed when we went there but service was still very quick.

  • 4/5 Bosco 1 year ago on Google
They serve only one thing here and they serve it well. Zero expectations, the food was good. There’s quick and responsive serve. You’re looking at fast dining eating good street food inspired dishes in a very nice historic building. I would definitely recommend this place if it’s your first time to Hanoi for at least trying the cultural food however I would not come again because the food was spectacular in favour. Try the dish for the history. Since Cha ca is a popular dish in Vietnam and also a Hanoi specialty. This dish is essentially fish fried in a pan with turmeric and dill. Although there are many restaurants that serve this delicious dish, Cha Ca Thang Long is one of the few that serves the best cha ca.

[Turmeric-marinated fish chunks stir fried with lots of dill & spring onions] We walked in for a late lunch on a weekday and were seated immediately, the server asked how many pax and they will serve the fish portion accordingly + rice vermicelli & various condiments. 1 portion to 1 pax - hard rule. There was no menu provided and seemed to only serve this 1 thing, which is how you know it's gonna be goooood 👌🏻 The fish was amazingly flavorful and tender, goes exceedingly well with the dill & spring onions! Literally my favorite dish in Hanoi!!!! 😭

  • 5/5 Jena 1 year ago on Google
first time trying this dish and it exceeded my expectations! staff were so friendly and taught us how to enjoy this dish as the locals do. only has this dish with a side of fried spring rolls which were nice and crispy but i still liked the main dish more.

Such good food. I went around 6pm on Friday night and was able to be seated straight away and the food was served almost immediately after. You can get a set meal for one with the fish and fish spring rolls. Fully recommend if you are hungry as it’s a lot of food! They help to cook the fish and greens for you and my server was kind to show me how to eat it. Really recommend if you love fish! So so good. No other options on the menu.

We were able to get seated for an early lunch on a Friday here walking in with 3 people. This place was amazing and one of the most efficient restaurants I have been to. This is because they specialize in 1 dish: Cha Ca-a fish dish that is grilled at your table with fresh herbs (it has a turmeric blend rub/marinade to begin) the herbs were dill, basil, and several others I am not sure of but found delicious. It comes with many small dishes and off course rice noodles. It cooks at your table and you put it into your individual bowl with the sides as you like. Of course our 8 year old slurped some fish sauce by itself and then amazingly used all of it on hers (it's a strong flavor I was a bit shocked). She also learned to say thank you in Vietnamese and practiced saying it here and the staff were all very kind. We loved this dish and place! I also recommend it for a fast lunch or for groups. I also really liked the decor as you enter.

Food was great! Quality & quantity-wise there was not much to complain about. Service: could have been a lot more attentive, but it’s expected. They dont come around to check unless you ask, but most of the time we just wanted something extra (more shrimp paste, more bowls or ice etc). Will still come back for sure!

This restaurant only serve 1 signature menu Chả Cá Thăng Long , it's a Vietnamese Turmeric Fish with Dill. They grilled the fish and then fried table-side. It’s served with tons of fresh dill, other herbs, crush peanuts, and rice noodles. On your first bite, you will find that the taste is 'unique' but while you chew and eat again, you will get used to it and enjoy your meal. Worth to try!

Unique Vietnamese good quality stir fry fish with lots of dill and vegetables. Get to watch staff demo frying the fish and show you the proper way to eat. Attentive service and enjoyable meal.

Superb service; everything is served fast; food quality is great and the greens is fresh The fish is tender and smooth; remember to ask for prawn paste as it’s not part of the default package .. They also have a garden setting if you fancy dinning outside…

Read about this dish before my trip and it’s on my list ever since. Now i understand it’s popularity. 2 of us had a portion meant for 4. Because we read that the portion is a little small. We left feeling full and satisfied. Must be my favorite meal this trip! Only down side is some staff looked impatient and unfriendly because of the language barrier.

that is the gate with chinese word on it. easy to find the place. The food is magnificent. amazing taste of the fish especially the fish belly. No menu, just order by how many pax and addon fish belly or not. Choices only for your drinks (pepsi, 7up, passion fruit juice, plain water) There is soup option but i not sure how to order, so i dint tried it. leave it for next visit. Same to the spring roll. It is one of the top10 foods in my list.

My brother came here before (but at different address) and suggested to us. I am not a fan of "Cha ca" (Dill Fish Cake), but my mom and husband like it a lot. The "Nem" was better in my opinion. My family have 4 adults (included myself) and my 5 year-old son and we order 6 serving of "Cha Ca" and 12 "Nem" and of course we couldn't finish all of them (what a shame!) The price was reasonable, cheaper than in HCMC (Obviously! "Cha ca" was originated from Hanoi). And the staff who was serving us was really nice to us (one staff one table).

Don't go there it's a scam!! The hosts are shouting on each other and we felt threatened by that. The price for the fish was 274,000 for one portion which is insanely high for Vietnam. The sanitary condition was horrible too. Just a terrible experience

  • 4/5 Jenny K. 10 months ago on Google
Very touristy. Nice to experience once in a lifetime. But I'm sure there are other hole in the wall restaurants that offer even better Cha Ca! Service was very quick and professional. The restaurant is 3 storey high packed to the brim. We felt rushed and couldn't really relax. Still a great experience.

Nice sit down restaurant with a unique take on vietnamese noodles. They only have one food item on the menu: a set course with stir fried fish and herbs, spring rolls, and rice noodles. The inside was spacious so we were lucky we didn't have to wait at dinner time.

  • 3/5 Alex Silva L. 1 year ago on Google
Very good food! A promising different option. But unfortunately I was treated poorly. I got smaller portions than the locals, even in smaller plates (!), no chili, had to ask for it. And I agree with the other reviews: you can do much better and more amount for that price. Maybe they treat people differently, that's why there are such opposite reviews.

😐 I gave only 3 stars in total and 2 for the service due to the queue system. We came at 8:30 we had a reservation and they let us in at 9:20, unexpected and unacceptable, its a pure disrespect to customers. The food was very good, but it was not so special to wait 50 min for.
