What a great find! We are traveling thru Ft Stockton. We stayed at a local RV park and were looking for a dog park for our dog. She is a 7 month old German Shorthair Pointer (needs lots of running room). We meet some nice local people who told us about a wonderful local park that had a large fenced in dog park. The park was beautiful and the dog park was perfect for us. How wonderful for this community to have this large park with so many features for people to enjoy.

Passing through and needed a shady spot to walk the dogs and have lunch! Beautiful! Even went to the pool for a dip before heading out. Round the corner from the Loves travel stop!

Nice park, had a fitness trail with exercise stations around it. The whole paved path was a mile, the exercises were shaded and a nice break from walking. Not many people, and a nice playground with a zipline and swings. Multiple barbecue pits and lots of things to look at.

Just want to say thank you to the "powers that be" for creating a Pickleball court in Rooney Park!!!!! The old tennis court has been changed to a Pickleball court. There are a few cracks in the asphalt and some gravel that occasionally makes its way onto the playing surface, but otherwise a nice lined court with colored sections and a new permanent net. Thanks again.....now Fort Stockton needs a Pickleball club/community/crowd that would like to play on a regular basis! ALSO....Rooney Park is a wonderful place to gather, exercise, picnic, play, etc. A well kept beautiful asset to Fort Stockton!

One of the best well kept parks that we've visited. Unfortunately I didnt take any pictures but trust me, this is a great park to picnic at and enjoy the grassy and shaded areas throughout. I've been there before several times and it has always been properly cared for. I work for the City of Alpine, Parks Dept., main park is Kokernot Park. For the four of us in the crew, we, along with public cooperation, do well keeping up the main park plus all the other parks located throughout the City of Alpine. 7 and another park, Pueblo Nuevo Park in the process of being established in the next year or so.

Great park. Very green, even in the heat of summer when we passed through. Nice trail under the trees. Lots of amenities.

Small park with lots of huge trees and a nice walking path. The trees were spectacular today. Take a look at the pictures. The leaves are turning now, there ate still a couple days left for great photo ops.
