Love my PCP there, however, I noticed OSHA violations that made me concerned. On 2 occasions I took my new born for their vaccines and the nurse that attended us walked all through the hallways with the same pair of gloves, instead of grabbing new ones when she entered the room she proceeded to touch my new born's face because "she was cute." Since then I always request another nurse. With COVID on the rise this misuse of personal protective equipment, such as gloves, is alarming and uncomfortable to me. Additionally, every visit, no matter if it's for a simply lab drawn or a medical evaluation, is always a 2+ hour wait. I have waited up to 3.5 hours to have my baby seen for her vaccine appointments, we were there a total of 4 hours if not longer. The last two visits have been a total of 2 hours spend at the clinic with 1.5 hours in the waiting area. However, because of COVID I understand that the clinic is short staffed and there may be a lot of sick patients waiting to be seen. Overall, all the doctors and most of the staff are very good and attentive!

People that answer the phone are rude. I scheduled way in advance with a specific provider to make sure that that was the provider that I was seeing. The day before my appointment I get an email to check in for my appointment and on my appointment there was a different provider listed. I called to see about this and the reason given was that the provider was changing specialties. I wouldn't see a problem with this if I had been made aware ahead of time due to the fact that changing specialties is not a spur of the moment decision. I think that it's very inconsiderate to not let patients know who have been booked with this provider way in advance know and to instead switch the provider without saying anything. I think that rapport between provider and patient is important so I think that it is unprofessional and inconsiderate to stick someone with a random provider who they've never seen before.

I made an appointment a month or so back. I showed up at 7:30am to my appointment at 7:45am only to be told that my appointment was cancelled without my knowledge. The receptionist said there was a not that I had a referral outside of network. I was not even asked if I wanted to reschedule. When I called back later to see what happened I was told that I canceled my appointment. I’m not sure why I would take a half day from work, get a 5 year old up at 6am, and drive to an appointment I cancelled. I’ll just find a more competent provider to fix my painful issue instead of making another appointment 3 months out!

This place is the reason US Healthcare is such a disaster. Just under $500 to see my x-PCP doctor for a typical 30min apmt. And another $500 to see a hand specialist for a 7min apmt. X-ray...forget it. BTW this is WITH Insurance! Lol, jokes on me! I have BCBS PPO, but it's technically called "PPO Choice". So I found these doctors via BCBS website under PPO in network Drs, which they are. But they're NOT in the "PPO Choice" network. Regardless of insurance coverage, charging that much is a disgrace. That is their standard rate for all doctors (just under $500/apmt regardless of time). Also, they sent me another ~$500 bill for "surgery". They said this was to take a cast off, but I took it off, not them. You can NOT fight the bill. They are always right. In case you're wondering...is it worth it and did they help me, answer is no. Kevin71246 at hotmail dot com, UIC, if you want to make it right...

Horrible experience and I didn’t even make it to the doctor. I had an appointment scheduled with Dr. Nasreen for October. The appointment was changed last minute to today, September 24. My boss wouldn’t let me go early and I wasn’t allowed to come after the grace period. I understand but I don’t. - Why were the secretaries scheduling on a day the doctor wouldn’t be in? - How did anyone expect someone to make last minute changes to their schedule? I was already waiting since July/August for this appointment. I don’t even want to schedule with this hospital anymore.

Just wanted to say thank you Mary in the imaging department who I had an ultrasound appointment with. It was a very emotional day for me and she was there to hear me out let me vent and was just listening to me and felt like she understood me. I can’t thank her enough for being such an amazing soul. THANK YOU MARY you really touch peoples lives & that appointment meant to much to me. -Ari A

excellent facility and top notch staff, the other objections I see in these reviews are an indictment of our healthcare industry and not unique to this facility...

The 5 stars are for APN Jennifer Bassler. She’s amazing. I had been having some health issues and was afraid it was something really bad because of my symptoms. Jennifer was patient and I could literally see her brain working lol. She scheduled all of the necessary test needed to rule out everything I was afraid of based on my symptoms. But here’s the kicker. Jennifer knew how afraid I was of what the results might be. She went above and beyond and called me at 8:30pm the day the results came in. All was well and she put my mind at ease. Jennifer has the mind of a trained physician with the heart 💜 of a nurse. I couldn’t be happier to have her as a part of my care team.

I give this facility zero stars but that is not an option. This facility and the doctors are so exorbitantly over priced and order tests that are not necessary. These tests like CT scans cost almost $6000. I did not need these tests and it was a waste of my time. Do not use this facility. You will be bankrupt like me.

I went to this U of C pain clinic to have the nerve in my knee cauterized . The Nursing care was the worst ! I asked the physician to stop the procedure but she didn’t listen . As she continued she kept saying that it would be over soon ! I was awake during this procedure. It felt like hot pokers were being inserted in my knee ! The fiery pain extended from my ankle up to my groin . The nurses only concern was to get me back to my room , and for me to get dressed so I could leave ! I asked them for some pain medication and was told that they didn’t have any on the floor ! My daughter was there and told them to get me a wheelchair so she could get me to my car . Never again ! Don’t let the immaculately cleaned floors and cleanliness fool you ! I don’t want to play the race card but wonder if I would have been treated differently if I were another race . Ask friends , relatives or take your chances , you’ll never be the same ! I was a Nurse for over 32 years and would have been unemployed if I had done this to anyone ! No humanity , humility they just don’t care !

I had bad experiences for far too long with far too many doctors at the UChicago Medicine for the 5 years I was a patient. My opinion is that they are dismissive, arrogant, and incompetent. When I realized that I would have been better off lighting my money on fire than trying to get medical help here, I fired this place and I hired a new doctor, who promptly ordered tests and helped me with several long-standing but undiagnosed medical problems. If you want a diagnosis or treatment for any medical conditions, my opinion is that you should go anywhere else besides UChicago Medicine. Buyer beware.

Darlene is the only helpful member of the health care team, whenever I attempt to refill my MONTHLY prescription with anyone else they somehow send it to my pharmacy incorrectly. I should not have to make 3+ phone calls much less more than one for such a simple task, I've been trying to refill the same prescription for a week now.

Labs: I typically have excellent care at all of the University of Chicago in Orland Park and hospital. The receptionist today was extremely rude and wouldn't listen to me. I had bloodwork yesterday (1/21) and was unable to provide a urine sample at that time. I was given a cup to take back the following day. The nurse instructed me to knock on the lab door and give the sample to the nurse. I knocked on the door and the receptionist yelled across the room that I had to check in. I explained that I was following the nurse's instructions, yet she yelled again that I had to check in. I answered her questions to check in and she said she couldn't find an order for uranalysis. I showed her the label on the sample cup, but she kept repeating that it only had my name (it also had a bar code but she wouldn't listen.) She repeated that there was no order and she just stared at me. She refused to listen to me or try to find out what was going on and I had to leave with my urine sample and no test done.

I found myself with extreme foot pain. Blessed is Orland Park to have a walk-in evening orthopedic clinic on Monday and Wednesdays at University Of Chicago on La Grange Road. This was my second visit to this clinic. The desk clerk is professional and the waiting time was great. The medical assistant that took me to the room, Raqueia Elbert, she even remembered my name. She has a welcoming personality, completed my paperwork and answers any questions I had prior to the doctor. I was x-rayed, then spoke to Dr Benjamin, extremely professional and knowledgeable, who explained my issues in detail and any options that were available to resolve my problem. Orland should see this clinic as an asset, when people slip, fall and it’s after hours with most ortho doctors are closed. I highly recommend this clinic next time you have an after hour orthopedic issue.

Dr. Czarlinski is really a thorough doctor and didn't make me feel rushed during my visit. It can take a bit to get an appointment but the staff is really nice and the doctor is good so it's worth it.

If I could give this entire hospital from Chicago all the way to orland park a Zero, I would. This place is absolutely disorganized. The ppl on the phone are unprofessional and rude. You get transferred 500 times before they find the actual doctor to be referred to. Then after 2 hours on hold for a referral they will say “not accepting new patients”. The website gives you the wrong numbers and disconnected. It’s a complete nightmare. Whoever is the overhead of this hospital are incompetent. Never in my life going back and calling the insurance company to let them know.

Firstly, the Cardioloy Department physicians and their personal nurses are excellent, world class. The Hospital facilities and operating equipment that the Cardiology the Physicians use is world class. The rooms on the Coronary Floor are excellent and well equipped. The nurses in the pre op patient prep area are excellent, as is the equipment in that area. However the MA's that administer the drips in pre op had issues trying to stick the drips into my arm on all my procedures. The nurses that assist the Physicians in the cardiac operating area are excellent as well as the nurses in in the post op area. The issues that occurred in my several stays in the Hospital occurred on the Cardiac care floor after my procedures. Most of the nurses were good. However, after fasting the night before each of my procedures that were performed in the morning I got to my room by noon. In each case the lunch that was ordered by the nurse never arrived despite a number of calls by the rooms nurse. I was famished and week by the time dinner came, That was 24 hours without food. The Hospital needs to work on the training personnel that administer the pre op sticks. And most importantly the hospital needs to insure that patients fasting overnight receive a meal immediately after they get to their room.

Rheumatology department. They moved from joliet to ORLAND two doctors had left. I made an appointment in April to see Dr. Ahmed. My appointment was not scheduled till mid September. a week before my appointment I was rescheduled to January 29. I had called several times to speak with an office manager with no return call. My last appointment was January 10 2023, it will be over a year since I’ve seen a rheumatologist. To me this is not a good practice. I have been with this practice since 2018. I just don’t know what else to say.

I made an appointment for my daughter, the appointment was canceled with no notification with a phone call or mychart. The PSR lied to later find out the provider left. We waited a long time for this appointment. Next available was an additional 4 month wait.
