My wife and I had been visiting this location for a couple of years, had a massage therapist that we loved going to and had the membership, that we shared. Things in life came up and we not able to go as often as we would have liked and had kept paying the monthly membership dues, and had banked a bunch of massages that we would use when we were able to. Back in July, we were told, that since we had so many massages banked, that we could cancel the membership and would have 1 year to use the massages and then we could start paying for the membership again, if we were interested in continuing to come for services. So, we went ahead and cancelled the membership with about 10 massages banked. Last night (10/26), my wife went to make an appointment online and noticed that our favorite therapist was no longer listed as working there. So today, she went ahead and called to see what was going on and found out that there is a new owner, as of September, our therapist no longer works there, my wife and I can no longer share the massages and that our banked massages are now just discounted. So now I am the only one that can use the credits, since my name is the main one on the account but now I would also have to pay an additional $50 out of pocket, due to an increase in price. We were given no indication or notice that there was a new owner, certain therapists had left and that the prices were going up. There was no notice sent, regarding changes in policy about massages already paid for. With new ownership, how is there no notice sent out? Sadly we paid hundreds of dollars for discounted services that the new owner seems to refuse to honor, besides credits. This is terrible way to and transition a business. Needless to say, we will be spreading the word about the shady methods being utilized here. I would avoid this location if possible. The new owner doesn't seem to truly care about their customers or running a respectable business. 11/2 In response to the owners comment: I was not made aware of the new terms of membership since you decided to alter them once you took ownership and never notified current members that you were raising prices and not honoring earned massages at the rates we were promised. No notice of any kind were sent out. This is bad business, whether you would like to admit it or not. Your condescending feedback doesn’t satisfy customer service wise and me paying additional money out of pocket to utilize something I have already paid for is not a solution to the issue.

First thing I had to delete my previous review to give reply for what you are trying to put blame on me anyway every management want to support their manager and staff but let’s say you what is toucher means because you said that I did but your manger did that with me today after 2years of my membership you had problem today 1) My massage session ended at 3:25pm I came out of room at 3:32pm which is 2 minutes late since I had back issue which I already mentioned to therapist I had to dress extra time for that your manger toucher me at main reception area which another customer also felt very uncomfortably with situation how your manger was picking up on me. 2) I called to find cooperate office details and your staff has not given me proper details so I had to call back and forth which yet mentioned as toucher yes after being members for two years you guys can turn any picture into different way that’s common called as self protection. By blaming others. 3) My friend Serisha 6months back she had massage with you at south Barrington elements got very bad experience with staff i will ask her to leave a feed back so that every csn understand who is problem. 4) My previous two sessions was canceled all of a sudden in 1day and that happened several times and never was taken care properly for assisting me with different therapist staff was rude so is this considered as rude or disrespectful. As my experience this branch staff have never been kind to me or my friends. You can blame me 101 ways but this the truth. Thank you for your suggestion.

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction and concern regarding my recent experiences with Elements Massage - South Barrington location. I have encountered both service issues and unauthorized charges that have left me extremely dissatisfied. Firstly, I am a regular client, however my therapist left, and no one had a courtesy to let me know. I was forced to pick another therapist too only after I called. I had a massage appointment on 10/26. However, due to an emergency at work and not being able to make it in time back to Chicago, I called on my husband's behalf and asked to reschedule for the appointment. Melissa was so rude on the phone and basically said : I will be charged and can’t fill that spot. So they did not even offer to reschedule but rather just charge us for a service not provided. These are Fraudulent charges, and if not taken care off, I will need to get my lawyer involved. The new owner seems very unprofessional & has disgusting attitude towards clients and pathetic work practices. The older owner was much more flexible and offered us to reschedule if it was due to an emergency. I also went on location on behalf of my husband to cancel the membership right away(afternoon of 10/26) – Again Melissa did not take the cancellation form even though I’m an associate member on the account and I was willing to get my husband on the phone. She sent me back with the form and I had to fax that to my husband to get it signed. Not understanding of the situation, and forcing the client to go back and forth. She mentioned she called the owner and the owner refused to take the form, and still went ahead and charged me. She knew very well she was double charging me. Again the new owner is a Fraud, and must be invested against. I believe that as a frequent customer, I deserve transparency, fairness, and high-quality service. These recent experiences have shaken my trust in Elements Massage - South Barrington location and they don’t deserve our support or business.

I was able to book a last minute appointment. The deep tissue /trigger point massage therapist assigned to me, Nicki, was perfection. Very strong, knowledgeable and taught me a lot to do at home. I only had an hour, but I felt like I was floating when I walked out. The ladies at the front desk were very sweet and helpful. I ended up signing up for the monthly package! The environment was soothing without being pretentious. Located in the beautiful Arboretum of South Barrington, great location to my work. I wish I convinced myself to go sooner.

Similar to the other recent reviews - everything was 5 stars until (unfortunately) the new management took over. All three of my fav therapists quit, massage time/session shortened, zero flexibility in rescheduling, additional fines and fees enforced, and the list goes on. I wish them good luck with customer retention!

This place was great until NEW Management! I had several sessions I paid for and they are denying me my services that I already paid for! I had many gift cards on file and no one there seems to know anything about my loyalty and the amount of business I have given them! Rude customer service by Alyssa. Beware it’s NOT the same place!

I went for a prenatal massage and the lady said “ I can’t do a prenatal one” so she gave ma a regular massage, I was so uncomfortable and nobody listen to me to get my money back or get another session. Very disappointed!!

I would give ZERO stars if I could. New ownership is absolutely terrible. All policies have changed with no communication or notice. I have been going here since the doors opened and it was a wonderful experience until now. New ownership does not care about the customers. Do yourslef a favor and find a different location.

I had a wonderful experience at Elements Massage! This was my second time coming and this time I had a 90 min massage with an added Aromatherapy (i even got to take home the leftover oils. they put it on cotton balls and put it in a small bag-- left it in my car and smells soo good). My therapist asked me what area to stay away and what area to work on and she did what I had asked. I felt bad because I'm pretty sure I snored a few times! it was that good! I even asked my husband that another visit would be a great as a Mother's Day present. 😆 Overall, the place is clean and the service was great. Definitely recommend and definitely coming back. The only downside it is pricey. I wish FSA would cover this as it is a wellness treatment . 😁

The new ownership at elements Barrington is terrible. The new owner and manager are enabling predatory business practices of autobilling without sending payment confirmations, and generally not helpful. The massage therapists are leaving one by one if that is indication of new ownership. I am so disappointed by this business. I sincerely hope current and prospective customers see this as a warning. UPDATE: I have been a customer for 7 years, and this business owner is not presenting accurate information. Do not trust this business.

I joined the monthly membership and I'm so glad I did! The atmosphere here is very calm and relaxing from the minute you walk in. Once in the clean and cozy massage room, I feel comfortable and at ease. The therapists check in to make sure expectations are met during the massage. Add-ons like hot stones! I always feel great when I leave - self-care at it's best!

This experience was so relaxing and beneficial to my feeling of renewal. My attendant was sweet and informativo and very helpful. Everyone should make this a habit simply because it is helpful for relaxation of your body and mind.

I’m visiting the area, and stopped in to check availability. The ladies at the front desk were very polite and got me scheduled the same day. The massage therapist, Jennifer, had a calming demeanor, and I was at ease immediately. My much needed massage was only an hour, but relaxing, excellent, and she was informative on how I need to follow up with care. I will definitely be returning when I’m in town again! Thank you!

I really loved my experience at Elements in South Barrington. Celeste was an excellent masseuse and applied the perfect amount of pressure during my massage. I loved the ambiance and fireplace in the room and lobby. Everything was very clean and decorated beautifully. I cannot wait to go back!
