Fiancee tried out this place for their pizza. The bears were playing and we loved that they had a dj to switch the sound on and off during commercials and play time/ I think that's awesome for a sports bar. The pizza was very delicious if you like thin crust I highly recommend. Our server Claire was amazing and attentive. Will definitely come back over and over!

JL’s is the best. Great pizza, great service, low-key environment. Even if you’re not super into sports, it’s an awesome place to enjoy a beer. All of the servers there are super nice, and the best part is, they don’t bother you every 5 minutes like at some 'fancy’ places, but they still know when to come over to ask if you need another beer. Also, they have made multiple customized pizzas for me and my boyfriend, all of which have turned out wonderfully! I will post pictures. For my boyfriend’s birthday, they were able to deliver a “Happy Birthday” pizza written in pepperoni. My boyfriend did the same thing for my birthday, and I loved it! And for Valentine’s Day, they made us a heart-shaped pizza, even though they said it’s not something they ever really do. The guys free-handed it, and it turned out great! So great, that I had to leave this review. Overall, if you’re looking for a low-key place to have a nice beer and pizza and just chill, this is the spot. In addition to the pizza, I recommend the nachos and the chicken tenders. The chicken is of surprisingly good quality and not too much breading—just right. 5 stars, baby!

This was an easy 5 stars! Plenty of food just alone with appetizer. Loaded nachos are huge and Mediterranean pasta. I would avoid the cheese though only cause it could be overkill with the nachos! It is a lot! My wife had Fettuccine Alfredo as well. Our server was great and found my phone when I left it. I can’t remember her name, but she was white, black hair, and had her hair in a bun. Great job despite it being mega busy. Great specials too. Recommended highly for good food at the price. Also, tv’s in the bathroom, so you don’t miss anything!

First time there today -- went for the Bear's game. The game could have been better, but JL's is a nice spot. Good Pizza, attentive service (thanks Julianne), affordable prices and great game day atmosphere.

Alright… the rating is hard to rate here. It was busy evening with cubs game and NBA … but one bartender for a big bar. I would normally say understaffed but the bartender this evening was chatting away with a few people and ignored most of the others. It took 35 minutes for her to acknowledge me.. then.. 45 minutes later I asked to close out when she finally acknowledged me stating me food is 2 minutes out…. Umm.. it doesn’t take 45 minutes for food and yes.. it was cold which means it was sitting on the counter for awhile. All in all.. short staffed for sure but don’t talk to your friends for 39 minutes and ignore 25 plus people at the bar. All in all the owners like most of downtown palatine need to be there more and manage a bar.

The food here is great. The service always leaves something to be desired. Our waitstaff was not friendly and just walked away when we were ready to order.

Waited 13 minutes to have the waitress come by for a drink order and we wanted to order food but after waiting another 15 minutes for her to come back and take our order, we decided to leave. There was one server and not the hostess, nor a manager came out to help her. They may very well have good food but we didn't get a chance to find out as there service was below subpar.

The bartender serving me was either new at the job, or terribly trained/informed about how to perform her job. She was the chubby, younger, blonde, but she way under poured a high end drink. For the price and the tip I gave, I expected a straight pour, not a 3 second pour on a double pour drink. Won't be returning. If you're drinking cheap, maybe this is the place to go and probably get ripped off at. For high end drinks, use a jigger, don't pour a 3 second pour for a double.

Been here several times but this was way different. We met a group of friends there for the Michigan Ohio game and they place was packed but they only had one server. INSANE planning. Aside from the server issue our server did an amazing job with the situation. They finally got another server to show up. Wings were awesome, sampler plate was a winner as well. Stopped in for a late night snack kit hen was open late Nachos and potato skins was tasty, servers were friendly. Open atmosphere, larger tables. Great for a late night bite.

Had a small gathering of HS friends. It was a busy night, but had a blast. Service was great! Pizza was delicious. Great place to watch a game or two.

Pizza and wings were good at a reasonable price. They didn’t come out at the same time which was no big deal but then we waited and waited for the pizza. We observed the bar tender go into the kitchen multiple times to address a likely related situation. The “lead” or manager shortly later came up and told us what happened, apologized and comped us for some drinks. We could tell that both bar tenders knew what type of service was expected and my wife and I appreciated it. We’d go back if in the area!

Racist Incident at JL's Despite being regulars at JL's, our recent experience was profoundly disappointing and deeply disturbing due to a racially tinged incident. We opted to sit at the bar. After sitting there for 10 minutes without any issue, and only after I speaking Spanish with a fellow patron, the bartender started screaming at us and rudely claimed that the seats were occupied by two guests who had stepped out. Her aggressive behavior appeared to stem from racist assumptions. Shockingly, these seats remained unoccupied for the rest of the evening, and the supposed guests did not even sit there upon returning, indicating that the bartender's claim was dishonest and a clear instance of targeted harassment. This encounter left us feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome, in stark contrast to the friendly and inclusive atmosphere we had previously associated with JL's. We urge JL's management to address this issue seriously. Their staff needs to be trained in diversity and inclusivity, ensuring that every patron is treated with respect and dignity, regardless of ethnicity or language. Until then, I have to changemy original review. Original below. Great food and great prices, staff is always very friendly, but I hope that they can get some more people!

Tonight, I was not let into the establishment. I had my legal ID which stated how I was over the age of 21. However, I have had a nose job in between the picture from my drivers picture to current time. The bouncer would not let me in and would not believe me that I had a rhinoplasty for my deviated septum. Another bouncer came and said I was fine to come in, but the other bouncer was externally rude about the situation and called me friend a complainer for saying I was 21. I have never had a problem getting into a bar. The bouncer was so rude to me that we ended up leaving the bar. As we left, the bouncer laughed at us and shook his head. Overall, it was the rudest I have ever been talked to by a bouncer and I honestly would not recommend coming here if you look young or have aj ID pic from when you are younger because they may not let you in

For a bar atmosphere the food is surprisingly very, very good. Ribs are fall off the bone tangy and spicy. Carrot Cake one of the beat

Always very friendly staff. Great specials and nice open spaces area with high ceilings. Great option for Golden Tee too. Close to train and downtown.

Great place, my good friend and I went for the first time, it was great, the food was outstanding and a lot. The beer was alright, not a lot of tap beer selection. But that's alright for me. They have a great selection of bottles and cans of domestic and imports. They have daily specials. If you want more, google the bar. I'm told the pizza is outstanding. I had the wings, succulent.

LOVE JL's! Great prices, wings are amazing, and they have fun specialty pizzas and beer selections. The pizza is not the "best" in town, but for the price, it is very worth it. All of the staff is very friendly and we always feel welcomed.

There was no beer menu so the waitress just rattled all the beers off. Rather than have her repeat herself for the third time, I just ordered the first one. The food was just okay but I didn't try the pizza so I may return one day to try it.

Christina D was a unbelievable waitress, prompt service with a sense of the humor and even better sense of the menu not to mention she checked on my table a frequently as it gets. The true definition of a diamond in the rough!! I live in Palatine and grew up going to the downtown Palatine bars and have never tried this place. It wasn't until a neighbor of mine recommended getting the BLT pizza and my life hasn't been the same since. Hands down the best BLT pizza in all of Illinois!! I've only ordered here a couple times since my first order a week ago, but everything I've ordered has been amazing. I've never dined in, but it looks like a good atmosphere with a great staff. Whether you wanna order take out or dine in, I can almost guarantee a great experience with even better food!! Cheers JL's you deserve it!

Food was delivered. It was still hot so no reheating necessary. The minestrone soup was outstanding; best I've ever had. Fried shrimp was perfect, as well as the rib tips, which were perfectly sauced and really tender. Those are two of my go to items on the menu. The steamed broccoli and carrots were delicious and beautiful! So much food for so little money. What a gem we have in Palatine in JL's Pizza. Thank you for being here for us.
