****STAY AWAY****For last few times, the Biryani is NOT fresh. Rice were so sticky that you can't eat with spoon. They automatically charge 15% Gratuity for one person. Normally, its for 4 and above. When I asked, behind the counter guy named Rohan, he said because Desi don't pay tip. Since I go their almost every week, I am not sure how many times I have paid them double TIP. Third the tax rate in DuPage is 8.25%, but they charge 10.50% I have attached the copy of the receipt. Stay away from this place. They are real thieves. This restaurant should be closed and owners should be put in jail. In addition, it you notice, they only give you leg pieces in biryani. So, its not whole chicken, which mean its doubtful they use halal meat.***Please review the response; trying to divert the MAIN issue of non fresh food and adding gratuity. Seriously I wasn't not raving. It was miserable that I just had to finish non-fresh food.***

Worst Experience Ever! Not sure if it’s a Shaadi Hall or Restaurant? DONT GO HERE EVER! I decided to take my family to this restaurant and it was the BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE. We were 9 people, and we ordered Nihari, Mutton Karahi, Biryani and Seekh Kabab. The Nihari - worst nihari I’ve ever had in my entire life. It smelled bad and was nothing close to what a nihari is supposed to taste like. We had to send it back. The goat Karahi - smelled so bad and the portion was not even for one person. The price was so high. The seekh kabab - it was as if it was for a kid, so small. The Biryani is the only good thing maybe the one star is for that. BUT THE FOOD WASN’T even the worst part. There was a wedding going on, and it was as if we were attending the wedding ourselves. If you’re supposed to have a shaadi hall at least have a wall partition. We couldn’t even eat in peace coz all we kept hearing was loud Dholkis, music and shouting. And it was so loud that I almost wanted to leave. We aren’t there to attend a wedding or some random people, we are here to eat in peace. And the worst thing was also the service. The waiter tells us that we have to order quick coz the kitchen is busy coz of the wedding. Either just close your restaurant when there’s a wedding going on or just take care of your customers. And they charged us $25 gratuity I HAVE NO IDEA WHY? it depends on the customer how much they want to pay the tip you don’t force it on someone. Im never ever coming back to this awful restaurant. My advice to you guys would be to never ever go to this place. Awful service, awful food, and awful atmosphere.

We choose Kolachi Tandoori Grill for our first experience with Indian food. We tried a variety of dishes some where suggested to us by a friend and one we chose on our own. We had the chicken Brianni which I thought was good she thought it was a little spicy. We both enjoyed the veggie Samosas, we both liked the Chana Masala I was dipping the Naan in it and it was good. The only thing we both didn’t care for was the Chicken Tikka Masala. I have nothing to compare it to so I can’t say it was bad I think it was just more our personal preference. Overall it was a good experience, we ordered online very easily and even got a 10% discount because it was our first order. It was ready onTime, the service was good and friendly, and the food was hot and fresh.

Over priced for average tasting food. Only one person serving and attending the desk so everyone is waiting longer for service. Automatically changing 15% tip? Only places that do that who have zero confidence in their service and food. Although we did enjoy the pun driven frames on the wall. So 1 star for that.

Food is absolutely delicious so is customer service. Very courteous staff. I will definitely come again. It has a family sit in area and also a decent space for a fifty people party. Give this place a try!

You can see in the picture the raw pink chicken was not properly cooked. Biryani wasn't good and other dishes wasn't that good to eat in iftar, quite unsatisfactory food.

On January 2 we went to kolachi Tandoori grill for the first time as a lot of people told me that their lamb biriyani is awesome and very rich in taste when we went to the restaurant they told that they don’t have a lamb biryani but they can provide us beef and chicken biryani, we ordered beef biryani it was nice with taste with biryani we ordered one dish too with paratha and naan Overall they had a good taste but what we don’t like is that they charged almost 15$ as a service charge because we did dine in there. They had a very good setup inside the restaurant I like their walls hanging pictures with unique and eye catchey captions

If you want real Pakistani food that’s freshly made, nicely presented, takeout neatly packed and tastes 100% authentic, look no further than Karachi House! Delicious freshly made food, good ambiance, reasonably priced and personable service! I can’t say enough about this place. Try it once and you’ll be hooked! We found this newer Pakistani restaurant that opened up about 8 months ago here in Schaumburg. It’s located in a strip mall behind a Taco Bell off Roselle road. The inside is very clean and you get nice aromas of spices from the kitchen. The owner was very personable, friendly and patient with my husband over the phone while taking his order. We liked the menu very much as it was simple, good variety of dishes and manageable. We ordered last night which everything was 100% spot on authentic! We’ve lived here in Schaumburg almost 15 years and this is the first place that got the real deal authentic flavors down perfectly! I’ve lived in Lahore, Pakistan so I know. We tried Chicken Biryani, Tawa 1/2 chicken, Chapli kabobs and naans. The Tawa chicken was moist and flavorful right down to the bone, Chapli was very nicely seasoned and I believe this is the chefs own fresh ground masala blend. They give you 3 decent sized patties. The patties could have been a little bit thicker but they were so delicious so I’m not complaining. The Chicken Biryani was nice and spicy. The chefs recipe is excellent. The rice portion was very generous and you get a chicken leg and a thigh. I wish there was a 3rd piece. The chicken in the Biryani was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The naans were a great accompaniment to the chapli and Tawa chicken. Soft, fluffy with a nice little bit of chew like they are supposed to have. I loved their raita! This chef found a way to make a raita without it spoiling from the cilantro (Way to go! He’s a genius!). It was a delicious raita and I liked that it was made differently than other places. Something new for your pallet! Perhaps his signature sauce? Overall I was amazed that they managed to keep all the flavors of the food unique and separate from one another. No dish tasted identical of spices. I’m so glad we found this place and this is our only Desi food stop from now on!

The other food we ordered was okay, but the standoffish demeanor of the man who took our order was bothersome. Also, it took almost 45 minutes for them to serve the Small Grill Platter I ordered, and, while it was seasoned well, it was definitely dry & overcooked.

Trash! Went there for dinner with my husband. We ordered “madras chicken” “chicken biryani” and “garlic naan” and “2 coca colas”. The one person that’s working as the waiter, cashier and everything else took our order, went into the kitchen and then returned to help other customers and about 10 mins later comes and tells us that he’s out of coca colas and the only soda he has is left is “diet Coke” and that he’s also out of madras chicken and the ONLY chicken dish he has is chicken karhai. Really? Why do you have a list of so many chicken dishes in your menu then? And why do you have three beverage fridges when there’s no drinks in any of them?? Second, He then brings out the plate of Biryani first before the curry and naan and it’s literally two pieces of chicken, which are one leg piece and one breast piece with a little bit of rice. Not even enough for one person. And they charged us almost $18 for that. And mind you it wasn’t even fresh! It looked like left over white rice, with left over Biryani chicken pieces mixed together. Third, the naan was clearly store bought and warmed up in the microwave. Not at all fresh and was very hard to chew. One of the pieces was even burnt. Fourth, the little bucket for the raita they gave with the Biryani had literal rust on the inside of it where the handle meets the bucket. Literal RUST! On the inside of it!! Touching the raita! Fifth, the karhai chicken had no taste whatsoever and the chicken tasted stale as if we were given something that was a few days old. It tasted raw! Sixth, the restaurant itself wasn’t clean. The tables were sticky. The floor was dirty. The silver ware was dirty. Seventh, I highly doubt it’s halal as they claim it to be. Eight, the food came 30-45 mins later!! Was really expecting it to be fresh at least, since it took them that long. And no, it wasn’t busy. There were just two other tables with customers at that time other than us. Ninth, my husband actually got sick the next day from food poisoning. Tenth, they served us in plates that had the name “Kabab King” on it. Clearly not their plates. That was the first and last time we went there. Never going back again. Worst experience ever!

Biryani at this place is fire. If you're a biryani lover, you gotta try it. They have family recipe which taste great and reminds me of the Karachi food that I miss so dearly.

This was my first time at this place and I went there on a friend’s recommendation. As a tourist in this area I have been checking multiple restaurants and didn’t find a really good biryani so I decided to try here. To my surprise this was one of the best (or May be the best) biryani I have had in the last few years at any restaurant. From color and look to the smell and eventually taste, everything was perfect. For those of you who are new to Pakistani style biryani, you might find it a bit oily but the taste was spot on. And finally doodh patti chai was icing on the cake!

First the good part. One of the best biryani I have had in Chicago area restaurant. The seating area is well kept. So far I have been here multiple times and everything other than biryani (burger, bun kabab, Chaat, Chinese rice, tacos have been below par). I would have tried other things, but normally 2 out of 3 choices are not available. Only seems to be one person holding down the fort at service side and it reflects on the service. Very underwhelming. Will be my go-to place for chicken biryani only.

This restaurant doesn’t know the meaning of service. Terrible, terrible and rude customer service. Food is ridiculously over priced. For 11 people we spent $300 and still left hungry! Food arrived late and tiny portions. The owner nor staff doesn’t care. I even expressed feedback after paying. They automatically charge a gratuity which I understand but where is the service?? I wouldn’t recommend anyone go here specially with family.

We recently ordered lunch for my kid's birthday party and everyone enjoyed the yummy meals from Kolachi. The owner was very nice and the food was delicious. We enjoyed : Vegetarian Fried rice, Panner butter masala and soft naans. I highly recommend!

The restaurant is clean. Service was friendly. Prices are reasonable. There was a troublesome fly. It probably just came in with a customer. Food was fresh and hot which is probably why it took a little longer than expected. I ordered the vegetable samosa. So good! The oil in the fryer must have been fresh. The dough was so flavorful and the spices were spot on for this snack. I will definitely be back even though it is out of my way from my regular commute.

This is one of the best yet under rated Pakistani restaurant in Chicago. I have been to many states but their Biryani is by far the best biryani I have had in USA. Also their paratha and BBq is very good. I thought bundu khans bbq was slightly better but my entire family thinks Kolachis bbq is better. Only criticism is portions especially for biryani are smaller for the price.Overall I would give it 5 stars.

Came here on a regular weekday night. Apparently their menu had changed and they have not updated the website. Many dishes were removed. Ok fine Ordered fry kabab and were told they don’t have that either. Pizza was also not available. Almost half the dishes were not available. The waitress on the top was rude and unapologetic. Fine, too late to go anywhere else, ordered other items. Those turned out to be cold and unappetizing. None of the burgers were good. Ambiance was fine but the bathroom was out of toilet paper, and soap. What am I supposed to do then? Anyways, overall a terrible experience and WILL NOT RECOMMEND to anyone
