I have a review that is a little too long, as it is ten years in the making. Do NOT go to this vet, and please read. Don't let these things happen to you.

Very high prices, no discounts even for 3 pets being brought in. Appointment fees are way higher than other vets. Also, nothing included in the appointment. Already spent over 1k in the last month here on just routine shots and visits. Would have spent half as much at other vets. Also, no prices posted anywhere for grooming or shots only daycare and boarding. So they can change and increase them daily or by customer as they see fit. Finally, front desk staff is hit or miss. Some of them are RUDE as hell and others are the polar opposite and super nice..when you call super nice, in person RUDE! Happen the last 4 visits with 2 different front desk people. Asked for prices was met with an attitude, eye roll and a "well you would have to ask the groomer" so we just make up the prices as we go, I see. Will not be returning to be drained for another 2k.

The nicest reception and finally got around to bringing my cat back for visit, and her doctor and technician team were both the sweetest doctors I’ve ever met!! I truly felt like that cared about my cat and any questions i had. I appreciate them being so in depth and really making my animals care a priority as well as reassuring me on any concerns i had.

From making the appointment to bringing my cat home we were treated as if we are family. The doctor explained every detail of the tests she was going to perform and offered to give me an estimate before I agreed to have them done. To avoid unneeded stress on my cat and myself they offered to keep my cat over night until all tests were done and not rushed at no extra charge. I felt like they truly cared about my cat and myself and it wasn’t a business like other vets have treated us in the past. Wonderful staff and hospital.

Been here for my dog and multiple cats over the years. Astoundingly clean and updated facility with excellent and knowledgable staff. They had a fantastic deal on a wellness package for my older cat that combined blood tests, a physical exam, and updated shots for him that was very low-priced and I was endlessly grateful for it with the holidays so close. I also found the environment of the exam room endearing with a cute little hand drawn sign welcoming my cats. The staff naturally loved petting the kitties and helping them not stress about it. Overall I can't recommend it enough, even if getting to it can be a bit of an annoyance if you're coming down the street from the opposite end.

We brought Savannah, our 10 year old Ocicat, to them twice now, both times when we thought she was sick, and they were very caring and got us an appointment within a couple days. The office is very clean, and the prices reasonable. In fact, they told us up front what everything cost, and helped us to decide what's absolutely necessary, and what could wait...important for us as we have limited income. I feel very confident they provided us with the best care at the most reasonable price we could get. Thanks Barrington Square!

If you bring your beloved pet here for euthanasia, be sure to ask if they can place the catheter while you are in the room. They took our cat into the back and spent ~15 minutes placing the catheter. By the time he was brought back to the exam room, he wasn't blinking and appeared unconscious. Before that, he was fully aware of his surroundings. He spent his final fully conscious moments with strangers poking at him vs. with his family. I didn't plan to leave a review, but I'm still upset about this situation days later. Please make sure your pet stays with you the entire time during the euthanasia process. They won't ask for permission to bring them into the back to place the catheter, so you need to speak up.

I'm basing the above rating solely on our visit to BSAH this morning 12/28/2022 for our dog(Raven)'s, 2nd set of vaccines/boosters. PROs: 1-- Shout out to Drs. Jen and Courtney for being awesome. Dr. Jen, especially, really took the time to explain to us what's gonna happen, what to expect, possible side/adverse effects, complications, payment package, etc. on everything regarding our dog. We really felt like we know what was going on and that our newly-rescued dog was in safe hands. 2-- The tech we had during our first visit named Nando was also very friendly and accommodating. 3-- Place appeared clean and organized. 4-- An exam room was already prepped and ready when we arrived and we didn't have to wait too long to be seen. 5-- Prices are OK - neither the cheapest nor the most expensive. We've just moved in this area a few months ago from the city so its location was pretty convenient. CONs: 1-- We believe that the tech? named Katie (or as what was written on the white board) who was with us this morning, really needs to work on her customer service and technical skills. When she entered the room, the first words that came out of her mouth were "Hi. Close the door... So why are you here?" pointing to us in an ordering tone. She didn't introduce herself, sounded like she didn't wanna be there, was slightly condescending, and was asking us questions which i bet could be answered right away if she only reviewed the clipboard she was holding a few seconds before coming out to see us. I also don't know and care what her position is in there, but she also didn't address the doctor(s) appropriately. My partner and I both work in health care and we know for a fact that as professionals we should always show appropriate conduct and decorum when at work especially when dealing with patients and their families. After Dr. Courtney was already done, Katie came out again and said "She no longer needs to see you again, so you guys may go now". Wow, just wow. Sharp contrast to Dr. Jen and Nando the first time we visited. IF ever we do go there again, I would request for her NOT to be with us, if possible. 2-- In relation to 1, due to her rushing us out of there or something, some of the contents of our bring-home paper bag (such as the specimen cup to S/E #2) were missing. We only realized it when we took out the contents of the paper bag at home. Good thing we live nearby so we just dropped by to pick it up after grocery shopping. Imagine if we lived far away and had to drive aalll the way back just for those. 3-- It's been almost 3 weeks already and we still haven't received any info on the result of our dog's 1st stool exam. We inquired twice - the first one was to a guy over the phone who basically said "I don't know the result, it's not on here" and the second one to a front desk lady who said she will put a note to do a follow up and ask why it has not been uploaded yet after all this time. We understand that these specimens are going to be sent out to an outside lab, but 3 weeks is too much for a simple stool exam. 4-- If anything, we should've opted for the vaccines to be administered right in front of us (and not at the back) so we can see which vaccines were injected on where and how we may mitigate our dog's reaction to it since we weren't really provided any info during this visit. 5-- The front desk staff is a hit or miss. Sometimes they are nice, sometimes they are rude OR act snooty/condescending as if they don't need customers' money to keep the place running. So good luck on that. So yeah. Key pros and cons to remember. We are planning to check out other animal hospitals or vet clinics within the area as well just to see how they differ. :)

After being dissatisfied with my previous vet (who is closed now anyway), I searched and found Barrington Square as my 20 year-old cat was very ill. Dr. Jen and Christine are so warm and reassuring. They were worried about stressing her too much while doing tests, so they are taking steps to keep it as stress-free as possible. They also listen to you and discuss your concerns (as opposed to previous vets who took the approach tha they are the experts and the pet parent knows nothing). The facility is new and state-of-the-art as well. We plan to bring out other cats in for checks once we are over the issue with our senior cat.

I have brought 4 of my pets here in the past (2 dogs and 2 cats). Doctors Jen, Irina, Courtney, and Zoe and their technicians have seen my pets before. They have all been wonderful and patient with my pets, some of whom are not always easy to handle (one of my pets is super scared and nervous at the vet, and another is just plain wiggly and jumpy). I understand that sometimes they need sedation, otherwise they can hurt themselves or the wonderful staff that work so hard to make sure they get the necessary treatments done. The doctors are very informative, professional, and never condescending (I have been to veterinarians before who are condescending and because of that I switched vets). They explain thoroughly why my pets need what they need. All 4 of the doctors I mentioned above have great bedside manner and I feel comfortable leaving my pets in their capable and caring hands. The front desk staff are friendly. The practice is clean. I believe they are fairly priced, but wish I could claim my pets as dependants as vet bills can definitely add up (looking into pet insurance). I also bring my dog, Poogene, to the groomer here(Dagmara) and she is soooo wonderful with him and always gives him the coolest ties 😎 I have also used their daycare services before and my dog always comes home happy and tired (yay). I cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff and services here. Thank you ALL for all your hard work. I have been coming here for 3 years now. This review is long overdue!

I cannot sing the praises of this veterinarian's office enough. We brought our Luna there as one of the recommendations from Anderson Humane where we adopted her. Every vet we have seen has been amazing, kind, and loving. They give good information and do a lot to make sure our dog is comfortable during her visits. They even stayed open for us to come in when she got into the garbage and ate a bunch of onions. She also has bad allergies and they definitely have given us good advice on how to help her through it. The vet techs are also so kind and welcoming as well as the front desk people. Marlene ALWAYS comes by and gives Luna lots of love and pets to her when she is there visiting for her vet checks or grooming. Luna loves her so much and Dagmara is so awesome with her when she does her grooming. They truly make me feel so comfortable dropping my dog off because I know she is going to be taken good care and I know she receives lots of love and rubdowns.

This is a wonderful clinic with caring staff that goes above and beyond. Recently our 12 year old lab needed emergency surgery to remove a large mass from his abdomen. The staff rearranged their schedules, worked him in the same afternoon and performed a long, but lifesaving splenectomy on him. We are thrilled that the tumor turned out to be benign and we have our happy healthy fur baby back. This clinic saved our boy's life and we couldn't be more thankful.

I want to take a minute to thank the incredible staff at Barrington Animal Hospital for being so friendly and knowledgeable. Our 12 year old "pup" needed veterinary care and the staff there turned what might have been a stressful situation into a really pleasant visit. They took the time to explain a care plan to help our dear little lady feel better; she is already showing improvement. Thanks for taking care of her then and for the follow-up plan to keep her healthy.

Everyone was friendly to myself and cat. Dr. Dan was gentle and kind when handling my furbaby. The place was clean as well.

This location has excellent veterinarians. Unfortunately they get quite busy and can be disorganized taking calls. I called on a Saturday morning, and was on hold for a long time before being hung up on. After I finally got ahold of someone, we made an appointment, or so I thought. I realized there was a scheduling conflict, and called back almost immediately only to find out the appointment had never been made. I won't likely be taking my dog here again for grooming, but I like the vets and hope their office can utilize an answering service to help them organize their appointments.

Staff are very friendly and welcoming. My dog is very nervous when meeting new people and they handle her very well. Dr. Kristen is very kind, knowledgeable and answers all of my questions thoroughly with every visit.

I've been coming here with my dogs for almost 15 years. The Vets & staff are so caring & thorough. The compassion shown when my family had to put down one of our beloved dogs was above stellar! I have an almost 15 yr old small dog & a 5 month pitbull puppy & I will continue their care at Barrington Square Animal Hospital

We go here to see Dr Starr for acupuncture for the dog who has a bulging disk in his back. He loves her and doesn't get scared when visiting (prolly bc she gives him scratches and love). He has been doing much better and has less back issues since we started.

Just a heads up for anyone with a new pet. BSAH is the place to go. We brought Bailey home in February, and walked into their open arms. Every question, no matter how trivial, has been answered by a wonderful and very friendly staff. We thank them for reassuring us in our medical care for our Bailey! Bill & Teresa

Barrington Square Animal Hosptial is the best place to take your animal. I went there when I first moved to the area, to put down my dog of 13. It was a sad day for sure. They were so kind, and respectful to my son and I. Caring and Compassionate. They were recommended to us my new neighbor. I then purchased a new puppy and went there to get a checkup. They had a welcome sign for us (including my puppies name) That is the kind of extra touches they consistently do for all patrons. My puppy is now 10 months old, and we attend doggy daycare which has been very instrumental in getting her socialized and acclimated to knowing how to play appropriately with other dogs (and humans) I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this hospital. They even do dog grooming, which I just started taking advantage of too!!! As well as boarding! Give them a try!! One very happy customer, Winnie's Mom... aka Torpedo's mom (nickname given) :)

We just had to put down our dog. Everyone was so loving and caring... This sad experience couldn't have gone smoother and they couldn't have been more accommodating. Thank you for helping us say goodbye.

At our first visit, Dr. Jen spent over an hour going over our dog's medical problems and discussed how to improve her health. I never felt rushed or that she didn't have time for us. We had been with a different vet clinic for 9 years, and our dog was always sick and scratching until she was bleeding. After 5 months of frequent visits, Dr. Jen corrected the cause of her discomfort and finally our dog is comfortable and not scratching constantly.

My pet has been getting groomed for the last 6 months and every time @Dagmara does the best job with him even though he's a very nervous dog. Always bringing him back because of her grooming my dog so well!

They have superior dental techniques and were able to r ed pair a long running painful issue in my beloved toy poodles mouth. The whole staff is loving and compassionate and make you feel like your dog is their dog.

My dog had an orthopedic procedure done here earlier this year. The whole staff, seriously, was kind, helpful and understanding during the whole 8 week process. I don't have the words to say how grateful I am for everyone helping my girl. My dog is quite used to vet offices and this is the only one where she was so excited to go to: arrived happy, went with each person happy, and didn't want to leave! I also appreciated all the follow-up care and suggestions for her. Thank you Barrington Square ❤️

The daycare staff at Barrington Square Animal Hospital are so wonderful. Mister runs in the door every time we go. He loves playing in daycare with the staff and other pups. It makes me so happy to know he is in a place he loves when he can’t be at home with me. The vet staff are equally wonderful. Dr. Jen is the best!

I love Barrington Square Animal Hospital. Dr. Jen is awesome!! As are the staff! The only thing I don't like is that they took down their Patient Portal on their website and put it as an app instead. I don't download apps and so now I don't know what is due for my dog or when.
