Stunning. Had a completely mad few days of beer, grub & metal, so decided to walk off some of the offending calories in the National Park on the way back to the Ferry. So glad we did, what a stunning place. Absolutely beautiful. Could happily get lost there for a week or ten. :)

The National Park De Biesbosch is an amazing place for those who like outdoor places and sports. We drove down here and spent the entire morning driving down the different routes and going for a walk amidst the beautiful surroundings. We took our dog along and made the place extra special as he got to run scot-free in open landmasses of water and grass. We just had tons of fun going here. The best part is that it is not well known and is one of the hidden gems of Netherlands. Will recommend this place for a half day/full day outing. PS: If you have a cycle or a camera there are some amazing cycling routes here and spots where all you would want to do is sit down with your camera and capture the birds that flock here.

Really like it here, we drove to the reservoir and then kayaked about 30 - 40 mins to a vrij camping site, almost no-one around site (summer weekend). Spent the weekend kayaking all around the area, loads to explore really pretty landscape and birds. We didn't go hiking though and I hear there are some good trails around, so next time (there will be a next time very soon) I will make sure to also get some hikes in. Really recommend for a weekend away, nice to be out in nature and for it not to be commercialised.
