Cannot be compared to an actual museum because it is smaller(2 hours should be enough for adults but those with kids may be forced to stay longer :)) and more oriented towards kids. However, plenty of space for kids to play outside and do the nature walk where gigantic dinosaur figurines are installed to educate kids and adults alike.

The "restaurant" is very limited, so don't expect a proper lunch. The Oertijdmuseum is a natural history museum with a focus on dinosaurs. There is another natural history museum in the region that also looked interesting, but our boys wanted to see dinosaurs. So we went to this museum. The interior is completely barrier-free. All existing sleepers were provided with mini ramps. The cafeteria can be a bit cramped with large electric wheelchairs. There are natural paths outside that can be navigated with a manual wheelchair, at least with help. Anyone who is fit should have no problems here. Inside there are some fossilized dinosaur skeletons (or replicas thereof) that illustrate the impressive size of the extinct animals. It's quite well done that the skeletons can be seen from above as well as below. As a wheelchair user, you cannot get to the top walkway in the large hall, where visitors are at eye level with the pterodactyls. Access to the first level is achieved with an elevator. It goes down later via a ramp. On the first floor there is a little more “theory” when smaller fossils and minerals are shown. Back downstairs, the outdoor area is in a small forest where dinosaurs are repeatedly shown in “action”. You can easily stay here for two to three hours. If you let the children play here for a while, maybe even longer.
