Stayed here for a birthday. Ate dinner here, menu was strange and complicated . Food was alright. They only came to bring us drinks once while we sat there for 3,5 hours for a 3 course meal.. strange. Rooms were nice (comfort plus rooms). But the two persons bed was just two separate beds with a gap between them. Annoying. There was a party which they only emailed us for AFTER reservation. We stayed straight above this party and we could hear all music and loud noise till 1:30 at night…. Breakfast was nothing special. They didn’t bring us any tea or coffee? While it wasn’t busy either. Service was lazy

Having conducted tons of research I booked this place for its cozy atmosphere and because the rooms shown online seemed spacious, well-equipped and comfortable. Little did I know that for a rare of approximately 130€ per night, I would book myself a room that is about 4 square meters large, with a single bed (yes, single-single!!), almost touching the one chair in the room. The room has no TV or any other amenities. Good luck finding the light switch for the equally minuscule bathroom. Paying 130€ per night for a hotel at the outskirts of a small city, with rooms the size of a can of sardines, with not even a TV, in the middle of nowhere seems extremely inappropriate to me. I felt like staying at a monastery while paying for an actual 4-star hotel. Furthermore, after the hotel restaurant closes at 9pm, there are no (zero!) options to get snacks or food at the hotel. There’s also no nearby alternatives. You have to order in overpriced fast food instead. At breakfast, the majority of food items was taken and the staff seems reluctant to take orders - you have to come find them and ask specifically for your drink. All in all - unless you want to pay three times my unreasonable rate of 130€ for a room with a civilized size and interior, I see ZERO reasons to chose this hotel over any - literally any - place closer to the city center of Breda.

If you 'Hotel Overlook from the Shining movie type of hotel you will like it. Quite cold running water. Localization is cool due to nearby park area. Stuff was quite helpful, but the guy from restaurant had bad day once. He wasn't rude, but not quite nice. Hopefully that was one time thing.

The location is right next to the forest and the restaurant offers a nice atmosphere. The food however is not very appealing (to a non Dutch person at least)

Some rooms were small and a little damp. They dried out after the first night. Service was good

Place is really nice if you love peace and quiet. The building and restaurant look nice although dining is on a expensive side. Rooms are very dated. Clean but early nineties. Also it is pretty far from city so restaurants and popular places are reachable via rental bicycles (14 a day so not cheap). Also taken a taxi which was steep in price- taxi ordered by hotel, charged 22 to get to city! Location is very peaceful in rather posh neighbourhood. Would most definitely appeal to more mature customers! Breda doesn’t have e-scooters or city bikes so choose wisely if you like be in the city and drink as you will have to get back there, it is a packet 55 minute walk from city. Staff in restaurant is friendly once you get noticed. I waited some 25 minutes until patience ran out and asked for a server. Rooms are thin, you can literally hear tv from other rooms.

We stopped here for a small bite and some drinks after taking a hike in Mastbosch. It was lovely and the staff was very elegant and kind.

We were travelling North very late at night and hit incredibly bad traffic and were forced to take a detour and stop, after trying five other hotels (none could acomodate us with a dog) we came upon Hotel Mastbosch. This is an incredible place, an oasis (in time and class) it was like entering a cosy home for the night. Staff made us feel welcome, room was great. The building is antique and gorgeous. Very happy stay. Cannot wait for the opportunity to visit again.

I don't know about the hotel but the terrace is lovely and the service is impeccable

Perfect location if traveling with a dog. Very comfortable bed. Nice bathroom. The friendly young man working nightshift 22./23.9. gets five stars for himself for welcoming us so warm and sincere.

We booked a Suite at the front desk for one night and had to immediately (1 hour) cancel this due to a medical emergency forcing us to go back home. The room had not been used. However despite the exceptional circumstances , only a partial refund was offered. This is shameful exploitation of the situation.

The employees don't respect silence...they always speak all the day and forget that client need to be calm to appreciate the Holliday's.

I've had a bit of a mixed experience here. First impression was good, the building and location looked great. Staff was very friendly. Once inside and in our room everything seemed a bit more dated and stuffy. Nothing too bad, just not 4 star luxury worthy. Single beds were separated, soap comes from a dispenser, things like that. What made me decide to give it 2 stars was the noise. A party was going on downstairs until late which was very well audible up in our room, made sleeping pretty much impossible. Walls and door are super thin and as we stayed near the central stairway, we could hear detailed conversations of people coming down the corridor, as well as lots of slamming from the stairway door. Breakfast was a plus :) Overall, wouldn't recommend staying here to get a good rest or for a luxurious stay.

Great value for money, indeed slightly dated but if you ask for a slightly better room than the standard ones you’ll be fine. Staff indeed makes the difference here: lovely people throughout the hotel. Only thing I was not so happy with is the presence of several people w h their dogs inside the breakfast room.

Lovely building with a terrace in the sun and option to sit in the shade. The perfect coffee pitstop for cyclists and wanderers of the Mastbos forrest. I ordered a Caffè Latte and tried to balance the spoon on the foam but it sank right to the bottom. You do get sandy biscuit that you can dunk in your coffee and a small glass of water. The Latte was descent. It was creamy with no hint of bitterness and for under 3 euro's a descent price

Friendly service, good breakfast, nice and well equipped rooms. A little old fashioned, but that is part of the charm, I guess.

The hotel is beautiful, and everything feels like there is history to be told about it. The rooms are big and the beds are comfortable. Only problems we encountered were that parking can be a hassle and the bubble bath did not work.
