Very tasty food and friendly staff. I highly recommend the Vega tapas plate in combination with a beer or port tasting. Portions are perfect for two.

There are several floors at this venue of which the ground floor is their uncontested showpiece. Atmosphere is good, they offer a wide variety of beers, comfy food, and good service. Unfortunately we were sent to the cellar straight after arrival due to the size of our group (8 people). Once you have seen their beautiful ground floor, their dark cellar is a bit of a damper where also the service and (visible) choice of drinks is limited. The long way run to the toilet (3 stairs up) contributes to the downgraded experience. Overall a good place but stay away from their cellar.

One of the best places to hang out with friends in a historical building in the heart of Breda

Our group of 10 had an incredible evening at De Boterhal, located in Breda's city centre. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff skillfully accommodated our large party. We opted for the deluxe menu and were blown away by the exquisite flavors and presentation. The 'Stoofvlees' was a standout dish, and the extensive beverage list added to the experience. The service was attentive and the ambiance cozy. De Boterhal is perfect for any occasion, and we can't wait to return!

We came as a big group of around 20 people.the service was very slow. We were informed, that we can not choose the food, only take the tapas menu. We agreed. Some people informed about alaergies e.g. nuts alergy, I informed, that I do not eat onions. Just can not stand the taste of them and don't eat anything they touch. So people with nuts alergies received separate portions and I don't, even get any replacement, when two dishes were mainly onions. Also the staff members were supper rude e.g. informed, that the tapas plate was for 4 people and we had only 3 pieces of chicken and 3 small toasts and highlighted, that in other places there are at least enough for each person, she said that is because people get vegetarian menu or "no nuts" menu and we can eat something else, so I did not get to try chicken. that is a disapointment. Nonsense continues once people decided to leave because of slow service and they were not allowed to leave and pay earlied than the food was served even tho they asked. We all agreed to pay so they could leave. Such a bad and louzy place with average food and louzy staff... also the part where I asked for "cuba libre" they informed, that they do only "spritz" and once asked for rome and coke it worked 🤣 everyone loughed at that.

We just had a beer flight with the houses own beer that they brew in the basement. Staff was friendly and helped us choose the beers.

Plenty of beers on tap, as well as bottles from local breweries as well as more established ones. I recommend the food formula of sharing plates, so you can choose to your liking and appetite. If you visit Breda, this is highly recommended!

A super cozy place to hangout with friends. It is always very lively and bright. They have a good collection of beers on tap and more on the list. The kitchen also serves food and snacks. Didn't try mains yet, maybe sometime soon. They also have a small underground bar which is a perfect place if you want to have a party or small get together.

Super rude and really unfriendly. Do not recommend at all.

I like the restaurants that give you english menu before asking and Boterhal is one among them. For vegetarians a grilled veg plate, frikkin delicious cheese loempias and onion rings are truly recommended. Chicken in yellow curry with a salad tuned out to be my fav. The place has a good and lively vibe to it.

Fine food, small dishes, order a couple at a time and share concept. Friendly staff, beautiful old building. Will visit again. The chicken skewers (sateh) dish is very tasty..

Service was quick, nice atmosphere, great variety of food and snacks and very very busy.

This place is great for drinks and have very tasty "borrelplanken". The staff is friendly, helpful and patient. We received our drinks quickly and the borrelplank Boterhal was a perfect addition to our Sunday afternoon drinks! Our table was very very tiny though and somewhat uncomfortable to sit at. The company I was in and the good service made up for that though.
