Terribly unfriendly employees. No one greets upon entry and exit. And I was even chased by an employee as if I was going to steal something!! Ridiculous and racist! And I know this for sure! Next time I want to talk to someone about this. Because I haven't experienced something this striking in years! Very hurtful... that is no longer possible these days! I always like to go to the Swanmarket in Rotterdam. Have been a regular customer there for years. But this was a very bad experience! Bah bah.....

I found the cutest rings from Unwind Jewellery here. I came back during Koopavond to buy two of them. They had different sizes, so I wanted to see which ones I liked best on which finger. After about a minute, the lady working at the store approached and asked if I needed help. When I explained that I was just deciding on the size and I didn’t need further assistance she proceeded to stand right in front of me and stare at me while I tried the rings on without moving. I became very uncomfortable as anyone would with a stranger literally hawking over them. After a while of her not even trying to hide she was watching me, I asked if she believed I was planning to steal the rings, which she immediately confirmed, without hesitation and very unapologetic. Without delving into specifics, I want to emphasize that I had no intention to steal, and I even offered her the opportunity to check me. Not that it mattered, as she continued to be extremely rude towards me. While it's not strange for store clerks to monitor small items, I would expect them to be more subtle in their approach. Accusing people without reason, especially in such a straightforward way, is highly inappropriate. I understand that rings have been stolen there (at least that’s what she said), but there are better solutions than bullying actual customers away like this. It's fair to say this interaction completely ruined my day, and I didn’t purchase anything in the end. I wonder if the same would have happened to a blond Dutch-looking customer… guess I’ll never find out.
