    It is of course better to have to come here as little as possible, but I am glad that this hospital is there! The EMC is an academic hospital located in the heart of Rotterdam. That is actually the only downside because it is often very busy with traffic to get there on time, especially if you come from far away, but in terms of parking there is no problem because there are sufficient parking spaces on both the ground floor and 1st floor. lower. There are also plenty of parking spaces for disabled people. It is a nice hospital that I can only speak highly of from experience. It has recently been completely renovated and is very large, but everything is clearly indicated where to go and if you don't know, there are plenty of hostesses who are happy to help you. A face mask is now no longer mandatory indoors. But if you prefer to wear this, that is of course your own choice. The staff is nice everywhere, whether it is the cleaning lady, the lady in the restaurant or a doctor. Because it is a training hospital, it can often happen that you always meet a different doctor who is still in training. For serious medical problems, this can be annoying or get used to because you may prefer to speak to a trusted person, but everything is always discussed in a team so this does not have to be a problem. I think the waiting times are not too bad, but it can sometimes take quite a while before you receive the results of a certain test, but that may be because it is such a large hospital. There are plenty of free (disabled) toilets in the hospital and recently a gender-neutral toilet as well as a room for pumping or breastfeeding. If you have difficulty walking, you can also make free use of a kind of golf cart at the hospital that will quickly take you to your destination and there are lifts everywhere. On the ground floor there are also places to eat or drink something and there are a few shops such as the Albert Heyn, Etos and Bloemenshop, a bookshop and a gift shop. Parking is quite expensive, but unfortunately that is everywhere in the Netherlands... Tip: Sometimes a loved one can be admitted to the EMC for a long time and having to park every day can be quite an expensive "joke". You must indicate this to the department where that person is admitted because then you can temporarily use a kind of parking card that is much cheaper! You can also find information about this on the EMC website. Recently, on the side of the Sophia children's home at the Erasmus MC Museum Park entrance, there is also a walking route to safely walk to the location of the Beschermde Wieg if you are in need for whatever reason if you have to give birth (alone) or if you want to leave your child in safe hands. You then follow the green signs with a heart and a house on them and then arrive at a door where further instructions will follow. So this is why I give this TOP Hospital 5 stars 🏥👍

    I've gone there to take my wisdom teeth out by the oral surgeon. They were very rough didn't put enough numbing agent in my mouth, twice i had to ask for more numbing i was litteraly cry and they didn't care. At the end of the surgery i had a bunch of others wounds in my mouth and outside my mouth becuase of how rough they were being. I'm now five days out of surgery and my mouth is still in a lot of pain wich is not usual not just were they took the teeth out but all the other injuries they caused. I had my right wisdom teeth taken out to buy a diffrent docter and that experience was way way way better, i was properlly numb, i had no other injuries outside my mouth and a few day after i was not in a lot of pain anymore. I'm just letting you know my expercience so you can make a wise deciscion. And no i don't have a dry socket and yes i followed all instruction provided by my doctor. So there is no reason i should be in a lot of pain still.

    Very bad services! Everything is fine till they see that you are not from Holland and you don't speak nederlands! Waiting for one pill for pain more than one hour all the nurses say to me let me ask my colleague if you are able to take...disgusting services for such a big and nice hospital...

    disgusting hospital, the staff are racist and made me never want to return to holland!!! disgusting! dont go here, they dont even give you the proper medication you need for treatment. I was sick and went to this hospital LITERALLY ALMOST A YEAR AGO, now i keep getting mail from them saying I owe them money (rich considering i paid them upfront too!!!) disgusting people, can even write properly. Theres so many spelling errors and mistakes. its like they have given me an invoice yet cant even translate it into english.

    What a clinic complex!! Crazy!!👍🏻😀 Very simple system to get information and get to the right department. Everything can be regulated via a QR code. The appointments are scheduled and as soon as you register with the QR code you will be called for treatment by the friendly staff. We went through five examination stations today and didn't have to wait more than 12 minutes. Class!! As a German, I was here in the clinic and I have to say that we should think outside the box in order to introduce such systems in Germany. The adjacent parking garage 🅿️ is also easy to reach!! Not exactly cheap, but good!!👍🏻👍🏻💸💰

    Made a phone call try to make an appointment. We are not professionals, so of course we cannot know all departments and correct phone numbers. Just try to ask some information to know if we have called the correct department. However, the lady who answered the phone is so impatient and have a terrible attitude. Fine, forget it, we will figure it out by ourselves.

    Am completely appalled by the treatment in this medical centre. I was travelling as a female solo traveller a few months ago in September and fell extremely sick with a bacterial gut infection. I went into emergency and asked for treatment whoever doctors claimed it was a viral gastroenteritis. I then was sick and had a further 4 bouts, was sick when I arrived back in my home country. I am now facing over $1000 in medical costs all because doctors in emergency in this hospital didn't give me antibiotics. I have had fevers, chills, nausea, been unable to eat for months and still have had no diagnosis. I do not recommend this hospital at all. Completely ruined my travels due to my illnesses. I tried to get the names of the doctors in emergency (who were extremely rude, one doctor even told me to apologise to her because I was telling her how afraid I was as a LONE, female traveller at the age of 19), but I was denied access to my medical records. Completely rude, disgusting staff. Hospital managers must talk with them about proper etiquette on how to treat patients. Don't go here. Also they were quite racist, asking what ethnicity I was - which, mind you it should not matter what ethnicity I am, I should be treated equally and fairly with my symptoms taken seriously.

    26/07/2022 review update I don't care about you complsint procedure, you can put it deep where you know. I just want people to know what to expect when they visit you: nothing, just a waste of time, energy and money. -----_ One visit in the dermatology department and one phone call for nothing, and they charge €350 !!! Unable to get a diagnosis and to cure you but well able to take your money. Ah, and they send you the bill 4 months later. Luckily they are fast. Very representative of the Dutch Healthcare, one of the worst in the world.

    Best hospital I've ever been in, I went there for surgery at the dermatology department for severe HS. They have a research center for Hidradenitis and that restored my hope on coping with the illness, The nurses and the doctors were all very professional and very caring. I was also very surprised of the food they offered there, its all really fresh and there was a lot of choices of dishes for any kind of diet, that really helps with morale for patients staying there. It felt like I was staying at a nice hotel, the room was smartly thought out and spacious.

Ik ben misschien in totaal een uur binnen geweest. Ik heb pijnstillers en mondspoelwater meegekregen, maar ik heb nog geen seconde pijn gehad.     The best health service I have ever experienced in my whole life. The doctors were extremely professional, warm, kind and attentive. The moment I walked into the emergency room they told me: " don't worry about anything we are going to take care of you". They did extremely rigorous and detailed medical check-ups to rule out it was nothing, and if they were in doubt they repeated the check-up or called another doctor from another specialization to go in more deep. And all the time some doctor came to check that I didn't need anything. To all the staff thanks for the great passion you put into your work.

    On my way home from work I always pass the Erasmus MC building. Still, the way it looks always attracts my eye! The routine of taking the same path home, together with repetitive patterns of that building always gives me the feeling that at least something in my life is stable :D In some strange way, those repeating patterns of windows are giving me the feeling of peace #patterns #route #routine #rotterdam #ErasmusMC

    I did not have Erasmus in health insurance policy in 2022. So they sent me bills and paid around 250 euro for treatments. So in January 2023 I've changed my health policy to include Erasmus to be covered 100%. They've sent me a bill today 1th of June) for 109 euro. Bill states that is from 19th of December 2022 to 1th of May 2023. Because of the date of the Bill insurance and Erasmus decided to bill me for treatments although I have new policy started 1th of January which should cover all. Bill shows treatments in February April and May 2023. It seems that my new Policy with Health insurance is not valid because of the date of the bill so they want me to pay twice 😂😂😂 It's not that funny as my health insurance cost for 2022 was 109 euro and new policy for 2023 is 165 euro. So I've paid 250 euro for nothing? What a scam of a system is it! I'm going to court or human rights tribunal if you push me.

    My relative spent almost a week in another hospital where we were told that all treatment will be covered by insurance. It was partially correct and mentioned hospital did not charge us a single euro. Unfortunately one research had to be done in Erasmus MC who I believe incorrectly filed data and now trying to charge me for almost 2000 eur since July 2023. I have sent 3 emails to their finance department which were well received since automatic reply was sent. I've also called them 2 times and asked them to send a written explanation about reason of invoice. They promised to provide a reply but until the moment after half a year I didn't receive feedback from them. People in Erasmus MC finance department are incompetent and liars.     I really wonder why some doctors go to medical school for 10 years, to not even do the proper research. My partner has severe physical symptoms that makes her unable to live daily life. But (almost) no doctor seems to take it seriously because in the past she had a psychological diagnosis which is still in her file. How could it be, that we will first need to have it deleted from her personal records, in order to receive the proper care and be taken seriously. The other way around, psychologist also won’t brush off a patient saying they need to get to a physical doctor. How could one study for 10 years, and after that, if a case seems complicated, not do any study on it anymore. And leave a patient to it. Last week we had an appointment here, and it was the same story all over again. How could it be possible that we need to do deep research ourselves about our illness and search for which doctors are the ‘good ones’, in order to get the proper care. I’m not even sick myself and I feel the frustration. I can only imagine how it must feel for patients. I know even doctors are just human. Mistakes can be made. But I really hope some change will come on this, eventhough this is probably very unrealistic.

    The best clinic I have ever seen, the doctors there are incredibly professional and helpful no matter who you are and where you come from, they are all people who want to help and they do it very well. My brother had a very serious illness and needed a transplant. Within 24 hours he received a new organ and today he continues to enjoy life thanks to the entire team and doctors who gave him a second chance. A thank you is not enough for what these people do there.
