    Very disappointed at the care and medical services there. I went in with a serious ankle injury and did an X-ray. After long waiting times in serious pain, the doctor just announced me that I had no fracture (without showing me the X-rays of course - I found this practice quite strange), wrapped my foot in a simple bandage and told me to start tape therapy 5 days later... Since the huge bruise that I had was still fresh after a week, I decided to go for a second opinion and turned out that I had an obvious fracture that should have been visible straight away on an X-ray! The doctor I saw in the second place was pretty shocked. Because of this mistake, I lost three (long) weeks of proper treatment and had to have surgery (somewhere else, of course). So yeah, although I’m sure everybody has different experiences I had very poor experience there.

    Worst healthcare experience of my life. We came in to the GP with our son who had been running a 40+ fever for 3 days (this was the first time they let us make an appointment, because it was weekend). We were turned away after my son threw up over the floor in the waiting room with paracetamol, and a 2 minute examination of his ear with the brief remark "his ear is a little red". We had to call our normal GP 3 more times before we could make an appointment 3 days after this (still running 39-40 C EVERY DAY). UPDATE: We had to go to the ER after our own GP prescribed antibiotics (it was too late), my son required an emergency surgery to his ear because of the out of control infection (but it was not an antibiotic resistant bacteria) which was 100% preventable with an early antibiotic prescription.

    My experience as a patient is that the employees aren’t listening to the problem of the patient at all. I need medicine for the disease i am suffering from. Its been 5 months!!! and the employees keep making further appointments without any action. Very disappointing, why would you become a doctor if you aren’t gonna take the time to help your patient.

    I am a star, not in the whole hospital, today I went with my son to the gastric surgery doctor and stomach specialist. They received me with great respect and love. This is our third hospital, 1 upper hospital and is an old hospital, but these doctors have more knowledge and treat people like people. They explained their treatment methods without treating you like money and we were peaceful and happy. We returned home. The employees in each department of each hospital are not the same, so rate accordingly.

    GYN dep was the most dehumanizing bureaucratic experience. After several months of treatment I am left in worse condition than the original issue. Yet everything the doctors have to offer is gaslighting, blameshifting and some basic over the counter painkillers.

    Amsterdam UMC I think it is the best hospital in the Netherlands in terms of treatment techniques and experience. The doctors are very friendly and treat patients professionally. It is located near the train station and a bus stop that connects you to all areas of Amsterdam.

    What comes to mind when I think of the professionalism here-is rock bottom. I am writing this review because it's been long over due. My personal experience with the gynaecology department here has been very devastating. Something I believe no human being should ever experience in their life time. I made an appointment to speak with a gynaecologist doctor here who permanently damaged my fertility, left me with chronic pain and performed surgery on me without my consent. I met with two doctors at separate times to discuss the incident. The first doctor stated the doctor who performed surgery on me without my consent had no desire to ever speak to me. The second doctor told me to get over what happened to me. I was completely mortified by their response. I contacted the head of the hospital for the gynaecology department to investigate the matter and instead they ignored my complaint and did not try to investigate the matter at all. I was completely shattered by their knee jerk reaction, cold shoulder and aloofness behavior. These type of incidents you would think would only happen in a third world country, but apparently that is not the case here. I have no desire to ever be treated by the gynaecology department here because they lack empathy, integrity, and great deal of professionalism. A doctor should be empathetic, professional, demonstrate good communication skills and most of all honest and compassionate, but that is definitely not the case here. In my experience, I found the doctors in the gynaecology department to be inexperience, condescending, arrogant, standoffish, ruthless and disrespectful. Also keep in mind a lot of doctors who work here are students in training to be doctors.

    After 2 hour wait after check in (no other patient in the er) we realized they had completely forgot about us. terrible intestinal pain, swelling, for days. My wife was seen by a med student, asked a few questions, came back and sent us home with exact same treatment she had been taking, telling us to come back after a few days if it didn't improve. It's been 4 days, we are at the ER in Brussels, it's worse, none of their recommendations worked. We just received the bill: 450 euros for a 10 min conversation with a couple incompetent med students. Shameful.

Op mijn vraag om zo snel mogelijk bij Reade een revalidatietraject te mogen starten, werd geantwoord dat er een wachtlijst was. Na 14 dagen AMC kon ik bij Reade terecht en wat bleek: er was helemaal geen wachtlijst en die is er ook nooit geweest. Van goede, open en eerlijke communicatie is dus geen sprake. Vervolgens ben ik aangeschreven over een tweetal vervolgafspraken om het ziekteverloop te monitoren. Een bel-afspraak en een bezoek aan het AMC. Op de eerste bel-afspraak is nooit gereageerd. Kort voor het bezoek werd ook dit omgezet in een telefonische afspraak waarop -u raadt het al- nooit is gereageerd. Aan zorgvuldigheid schort het bij dit ziekenhuis in ernstige mate......

    I delivered my baby at AMC and I cannot express in words how nice and professional everyone has been with us. From the arrival to the after care ( I had to spend the night due to complications) I received top care and attention. On top of that they were all incredibly nice and warm during my painful hours. Thank you so much for making this moment better and making me feel surrounded by great professionals and people!

    I have been coming to the rehabilitation department for six months now. Very committed, knowledgeable and calm employees. They have now become friends (as far as that is possible, of course). Recently one of the sisters said goodbye and we had to swallow a lump. If I no longer have to come, my wife and I will miss the team enormously.

    AMC Academic Medical Center is an Academic Hospital and medical faculty in Amsterdam,affiliated with the university of Amsterdam. Went to visit few patient there and walked few other places with friends. It is a great place and is a well equipped hospital.

Heb echt 1x toen ik 3dagen inwendige bestralingen kreeg 24 uur dag en nacht. Een vervelende zustervaan mij bed gehad die geen tijd had om mijn morfine pomp na te kijken. Lag namelijk al een tijd zonder en echt het is geen pret om zo te bestraald te worden. Gelukkig kon mijn vriendin komen en ook de pijn poli kwam langs. Ik werd echt gek van de pijn. Door gelukkig geholpen. Verder echt de nacht zuster was zo lief voor mij. Dank mijn artsen die mij helpen nog steeds. Heb geleerd mijn mond open te doen naar hun om mijn klachten te vertellen. Oncologie arts Velden is met pensioen nu een andere gekregen moest echt wennen. Tot ik paar maanden echt niet meer had zo erg die pijnen. Toen kwam de klik voor mij. Heb hier ook zuurstoftherapie gedaan. Fijn ziekenhuis.

    I'm so grateful that I've been taken care of in this hospital: Every intervenant was perfectly competent and this surgery changed my life. They were good listeners, super kind, took good care of the pain, super reactives & efficient, amazing work with that surgery and even during this pandemic times they managed to do everything on point.     AMC saved my life. The most professional staff I have ever met. Yes, they can be blunt but when faced with possible demise one needs to hear the truth. I still go monthly because they want to make sure I am better.

    The building is great and quite easy to navigate. The secretary workers are nice. But while we're in the Omicron wave I still don't understand why ventilation and masks are not better promoted. I had a great experience in the ophtalmology department. The nurse and doctor have been extremely empathetic and treated me very kindly. They took time to explain my pathology and I received extra care because I have allergies to eye drops. On the other hand, I can not recommend the genetics department. The doctors I've seen did not seem to care about diagnosis that have been assessed by my current specialists and physiotherapists. They have refused to listen to me and just made their own assessment in 5min. Which goes against everything that my hypermobility specialists (including rehab doctors) have assessed. So unfortunately I won't recommend these doctors and will seek proper counseling somewhere else.

    I've never visited a worse Radiology than this! They didn't treat my niece even though she couldn't properly walk and she was in severe pain. Their excuse was that on the x-ray there was no broken bone but that will not excuse the fact that they didn't give tips to heal faster, didn't give her a bandaid and no Medicaments against the Pain at all. Then one out of TWO rude Nurses told my niece, that the pain is not that bad and that she is being dramatic. Is that how you treat a Patient?! I am so frustrated, mad and speechless that people with pain get treated like that. What kind of Radiology is this? Aren't Hospitals there to help people in need, this Radiology definetly failed this job.

    Horrible service, sent to a department far in the building only to be told that they can’t help us. Went to the front desk and had to wait an extra half an hour to be helped. After all was said and done, we left the hospital with no help or clarification on our problems.

They did everything asap and then I had a surgery. It was appendectomy. Actually I have a tattoo on my stomach. There are flowers and a bird there. So the surgeon was so smart and kind, she did holes properly saving my painting!) The rooms were clean, fresh, well equipped. The beds were really comfortable. The doctors and staff were very friendly, attentive and they always treated me. They supported me all the time which I was there. I felt like at home. Thanks a lot!
