    The doctors are friendly and helpful and I have no doubt that they are the ones who have the most knowledge and skill at certain medical fields. However, the administration or maybe I should say the nurse team is so bad that it ruined all my impression about this hospital. After surgery of my son with general anesthesia, my son should be able to wake up within a couple of hours but he only woke up after one day because they FORGOT to provide him glucose. Then, they FORGOT to provide him food for continuous two days although we complain every time. So every time we have to complain to get food, otherwise no food. After two days, they finally realized that there was a MISTAKE in their database. During conversion with one of the doctor, both we and the doctor realized that the record about my son in their system is wrong. She would have made a wrong decision if she had not talked with us. Many times, different nurses made completely different decisions, which is so scaring! The experience is so bad that it is full of chaos and mistakes. I can not think about how could it be worse. We do not dare to trust any one of them anymore and changed to another hospital. Then everything solved!

    The medical incompetence is just shocking. A friend was admitted for critically high blood sugar (900 where it’s supposed to be less than 200), and they only kept him for a single day. Despite continued elevated sugar levels, they discharged him, and even gave poor advice like it’s ok to have Coca Cola Zero. I would not recommend this hospital.

    I was admitted via call from my GP. Everything was arranged quickly & professionally. Within 5 hours diagnosed and operation completed and recovering in bed. Lovely staff, a caring service offered with my wishes and painful experience considered at all times. Thanks to everyone for allaying all my fears and taking care of me.

    One of the most disappointing experiences I have ever had in The Netherlands regarding a simple blood test. My dermatologist gave me a form for my blood test and I had my blood test in the laboratory. The lady who received the form told me that she could not send the results directly to my dermatologist but the results will be ready on the UMC system and I can get it myself. 10 days passed and nothing emerged on the system. I called the hospital and asked them to check the system where the results are. The lady didn’t even bother to check my information and hung up the phone. I called again and again and the only thing they told me was that there was an ICT problem but also they won’t give me the lab results either, no matter if it is my right to have access to my dossier. Everywhere else a blood test result is ready in 2 days also on the system and never will someone deprive you of your right to have access to your medical dossier. Another time I had emergency visit to this hospital due to an accident on my ankle and the doctors there told me to start walking on my sprained ankle. I was so much in pain and this was even salt to the injury. Will never come back here and hope to never need to come to this place.

    So called international university hospital. But most staff members only from neighbour countries. Racism and bias happens for staff members especially for job opportunities for foreigners. The staff can not speak proper English. So, good for dutchies but not for foreigners.

    Not only is the hospital racist to workers but also to its patient. We have been waiting for more than 3 hours with pain while other duth patients go first. Absulute shame and worst hospital I have ever been in 30 different countries around the world.

    The problem with this hospital is that its a academic a learning school for doctors so miss diagnose is happening or treatment far to slow or to heavy or to light. However you can ask for a real doctor and not a study pet. Think about it next time if you need to go there.

    I would like to complain about this treatment with gnathologist the hospital offers and for me was a really bad experience for the fact that what I had was a infection in one of my canal, but the doctor that is responsible for this area trying to convince me that my problem was a Grind disorder, I could had die if I had follow the treatment with him, because what I really had was a infection. So be wear when the doctors asked to you be analyzed by this doctor Theo JM Kluskens, dentist gynecologist, because can cost your life

    The doctors and surgeons know what they are doing but the nursing staff is the worst. Most don't seem to like their job, they are loud, mean, forgetful and they don't take care of you at all! They sigh, complain, raise their voice. The list goes on and on. This whilst the two elderly gentleman and myself, were being nice and not demanding at all. What a bad experience. Glad to be let out of recovery. Hope I never have to be back!

Echt een puinhoop, komt erg onprofessioneel over en schept zo weinig vertrouwen. Het wachten op de poli duurt inderdaad lang, het is gewoon een ontzettend groot ziekenhuis met veel patiënten maar de behandeling is kwalitatief gewoon goed. De kennis op medisch gebied is er. Ondanks de drukte, hebben de artsen en verpleegkundigen toch nog persoonlijke aandacht voor je en nemen ze de tijd om je vragen te beantwoorden.

    The care in this hospital is mediocre. Claimed to be International when it's only speaking Dutch exclusively. Racist towards other nationalities (Germans included) only halfway sufficient if your Dutch. Especially Harry Crijns had a very bad Attitude and Lack of social skills. Better seek Alternative and dont waste your time or health there

    So called International hospital is quite a racist place to be. My German daughter went there for medical Training - she was bullied and staff took advantsge of her acadwmic skills : usually she needed to do most all hard work for publications and the Supervisors just added their names on the paper, so as long as she delivered they kept her. Later on, they didnt take her on but a more junior but Dutch girl. The higher the Post of doctor, the worse their behaviour. Have read familiar names in other reviews here, rude shameless people. Non Dutch, please watch out, international they call it only to take advantsge of all non durch!

    Racist is little to describe the attitude of the personnel of this clinic, including the doctors, to non-Dutch speakers. I had some tests done and instead of reading the results for me after the tests were completed, the phycologist, Dr Friessen, made me wait for about 6 months. Finally, when he found out that I am leaving the Netherlands, he did not write a report with my anamnesis in English for me to show to a doctor outside Holland - of course he promised he would do but this turned out to be a blunt lie (he did not write the report in Dutch either so I could not consult it with my Dutch doctor before leaving). The whole testing exercise was time-consuming and absolutely in vain. Of course it was all paid by my Dutch health insurance at the time, and thus taken out of my salary.

    Had terrible pain that went from my jaw through my ear and to my head for a few days. I decided to wait until to see if it would go away, but it didn’t. Since it was a Sunday and the pain was interfering with my day to day life, I decided to call to get some advice. I was treated really well on the phone and was told to come in later that day. Once I met the doctor, it was a different story. No interest in helping me at all, told me it’s a pity I’m in pain and haven’t been able to sleep but it’s not her problem, this isn’t an emergency. Turns out I had two infected wisdom teeth. Be wary of their advice… I was lucky my GP told me to run to the dentist. 3 surgeries later and I’m in no more pain.

    Some of the staff is racist and rude but some are very kind professionals. I just had surgery in France and called the maastricht hospital to know if it was possible for me to continue my treatments there. The first man who answered was incredibly rude, as soon as I nicely asked him if he spoke english. I tried to tell him about my condition, he cut me and literally asked me "what do you want?", to later send me to another part of the hospital. This time, the lady who answered was very kind, she took the time to listen to me and even redirected me to the right centre for my treatment.

    Our experience here could not have been better. Our first child was born at this hospital two days ago and my expectations were consistently exceeded. Every staff member was genuinely concerned with our needs and questions. I am blown away by how well we were taken care of and not just during the delivery but when we first started our OB appointments after moving here three months ago. If we have another child, and I hope we do, I hope it is born here at this hospital. Sincerely and with love, Bill

    Worst hospital for foreigners. They expect you to speak Dutch with all letters in Dutch too. Harry Crijns was rude to speak and talking non clinical stuff mostly. Better to goto Aachen for heart treatment. The waiting time for reports is very long.

    We visited the gynaecologist polikliniek for pregnancy related examinations. The medical personel was very nice and knowledgeable. They took the time to explain everything and we felt that we were on good hands. This is not our regular hospital and we have visited many gynaecologist departments in the Netherlands. This has been the best experience by far in terms of medical knowledge and human approach.
