Wrong time of departure on their boarding pass, so we missed the train because it left 2 hours before the indicated time. When we contacted them they said that it was not my β€œprimary” station even though they provide the option to get the train from wherever you want. Avoid them, many mistakes and not willing to help. update after green city trip's response: We asked you explicitly multiple times if we can take the train from other stations and you said yes. You never mentioned that if you do a mistake in every other station it is our problem. Attached a photo of our chat. The conclusion is that 2 out of 5 friends lost the trip and 330 euros because of your mistake and you do not even provide a compensation.

If this is the future of night trains in Europe, I'll be back to flying ✈️ What an awful experience: five adults in one tiny cabin with narrow beds, and no sleep at all. The toilets were dirty from the start, didn't have hydroalcoholic gel, and had no running water in some cases. Some members of staff didn't hide their lack of interest in their jobs. For breakfast, there was a box of junk food served. As the train itself has no priority in the time slots, we were forced to stop every 30-45 minutes and wait for another train to pass. On the way back from Salzburg, we even waited two hours.

Super cool experience! Comfortable beds and nice views. The train was a bit delayed, cutting into our time at our final destination which was too bad but, the train ride made up for it. I really recommend booking a private cabin as our roommates brought massive sized luggage, sprayed lots of aerosol products, and refused to sit in their actual seats making the sitting part of the journey really frustrating. Had it not been for them however, it would have been a 5 star experience.

A dirty hostel on wheels!! I am pretty sure this company was started by 2 university students who won 20k in a "Sustainable Buisiness Plan Competition." This was our first night train and we really really wanted to like it. Our conclusion is that the next time we want to take a night train, we will look for literally ANY OTHER option than GreenCity Trip. The train itself was about 50 years old and almost nothing on it worked (e.g., cabin window wouldn't open, heat/ac was non-functional, sink in cabin had almost zero pressure, only 1 power outlet (on the ceiling!) which stopped working halfway through the trip, doors rattled all through the night, bathroom was disgusting, etc etc). Instead of a croissant with our prepaid breakfast, they decided to give us a dry hotdog bun for the return trip. They also didn't even manage to wash the ONE(!) tiny washcloth per cabin to use at the sink on the way back. I could go on and on, but you get the point. Too expensive for what is included. No bed sheets, not accessible for people with mobility issues, no bistro available, no place to take luggage even if it is said you can carry as much as you want. For the price and the the hassle, I would prefer taking a plane. But it is an interesting experience for one time.

I went with my 6 year old to Salszburg, you basically get what you pay for. The beds (at the bottom) are longer than some people are saying, I'm 1.90m and I could just fit, but they are of course quite narrow. Both ways we arrived a bit earlier than predicted, which was nice. We were lucky with the other people in our cabin, played some games to pass the time, overall we had no noisy people on our carriage. I did not seem like they cleaned the toilets during the trip, which would be an easy improvement to make.

The night train is a great concept: travel to your destination whilst sleeping, with a limited environmental impact and more space than in a car or plane. The trains are, however, quite dated. They may have been refurbished a decade ago, the sound and shock proofing are insufficient. Earplugs help against the normal travel sounds, but when the train stops and (especially) sets off again in the middle of the night it takes a heavy sleeper not to wake up. One actionable point if feedback: when booking it said arrival at WΓΆrgl at 11:45, on the tickets we received later it said 7:45 and when we had just boarded we received the message that we would be arriving at 5:45! This makes for difficult taxi/chalet planning. On the way back a human error caused us to take a wrong turn in Germany, causing a 2,5hrs delay. The one upside to the trip was the friendly personnel.

The train was late at the start. it covered well during the night and reached almost in time. During the return trip , the train was horribly late (2.5hrs-3hrs). Seems the train do not have any priority with regards to the railway line or station availability so it never gets on time unless some track or platform is free to use. The rest of the facilities were average. A full day will be wasted in the train for sure. I do not recommend it if you are taking off from work and travelling. Also finding the platform in the origin city is always an extra activity as no station services( information points) are aware about it. You have to wait for the announcement which is extremely last moment for the platform or other information.

Train is clean and leaves on time, instructions are clear. What is not, is that the trip could quite easily be half the time if not for the bizarre and inexplicably random 60 minute stops along the trip. Turned a 8-10 hour trip to a 16-18 hour trip. This needs to be optimized or better explained, as most of the time it was just "oh I guess we're parking for an hour for no reason again" The premium or luxury might be nice but then you're looking at maybe doubling plane ticket prices.

Trains were late, for both ways. From what I understand this is often the case. The train is a night train that was probably already in service back in the 90's. I also strongly disrecommend booking hotels through the agency.

Friendly personnel, comfortable beds. We travelled "luxury class", so we had a cabin for two with a wash basin and three chairs. The beds were ample for us and came with duvets. Free coffee and tea delivered to the cabin. Helpful and friendly personnel was available to answer our questions. The train departed on time both ways. Upon entry we were informed of (much) earlier expected arrival times, so that we arrived at 08:30 instead of 10:15 in Dresden and 07:00 instead of 12:25 back in Utrecht. Train was quiet at night. Didn't sleep super well because of the unusual movements, but enjoyed it anyway.

TERRIBLE. Dirty, expensive and NO support. We payed 10 euro per person for a breakfast they did not have to us and they just can refund the money. Totally no recommend

+ cabins were clean, safe, and comfortable + extra information by friendly and knowledgeable personell aboard - second door lock not clearly indicated, we had locked ourselves in for a bit by accident - due to short boarding times there was a lot of chaos at the platform, clear indication of where wagons would be could have prevented this

We went from Amsterdam to Prague with the sleeper train. The trains are old and simple. The beds are very hard and narrow, it feels like you're sleeping on wood. You can hardly turn around because of the narrow space and by the time you wake up, if you had any sleep at all, your body will hurt everywhere. There is heating in the cabin which will only turn on at night. Cold air coming thourgh the window, so be prepaired to have some draft coming in. There are 3 settings for lighting and two foldable tables. You will get a thin soft pillow, a bedsheet (which is a cover) and a thin red blanket. There are two sinks for water and a toilet. The toilet gets dirty quickly since so many people are using it. Buttons, handles, taps etc.. get dirty and sticky and are not cleaned between the journeys. On the way to Prague there were drunk people in our train making a lot of noise till late. Despite it was anounced that smoking was not allowed, there were people who smoked and the smoke spread throughout the train. My baby inhaled it. On the return most people were too tired to party or make noise. The train does not go that fast and makes long stops in between, which delays the uncomfortable journey. Brakfast is tea, coffee and some snacks. Water is not offered. Service on board is good, friendly and helpful staff. Chat customer service of the agency is fine too. Beds in the train should definately be improved, even if it was with just adding a soft top later to it. Without a more comfortable bed (softer and wider) I would not book again with them.

I did a trip from Utrecht to Vienna in the Green City Trip train and it was ok but a bit disappointing. The train is really slow and makes long stops for no apparent reason. Our train had a two hour delay because the staf was late and it takes 5 hours to go from Salzburg to Vienna instead of the 2,5h the regular train takes. The train itself is really really really old, the seats are hard and short, the toilets and washrooms could be better cleaned and they should at least be able to sell water for passengers that forgot to take it along. Unfortunately, if you forgot your water or didn't bring enough you'll have to wait more than 12h to get some. So, I don't know whether I would take this train again anytime soon or recommend traveling like this to my friends. I hope they can improve these things soon so that I can take a night train again. I would love to travel more in more comfortable night trains.

Small compartments. We were a group of five and did not choose to get assigned seats, so they split us up in different compartments. Compartments are a bit cramped with 5 people.

The train is nice. The compartment is well-equipped with everything you need. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The trip is recommended

First of all, I highly recommend packing a backpack with all the little things you might need during the trip. The pillow with blanket/sheet package is a must-have, as it greatly improved my sleep quality during the journey. Additionally, it's a good idea to bring enough food and drinks for the roughly 14-hour train ride to avoid paying inflated prices at the train's cafeteria. Alternatively, you can purchase some snacks and beverages on the train. In the morning, a crew member comes around offering coffee or tea, although it's instant coffee, I didn't mind. One thing to keep in mind is that the experience may depend on the other passengers in your cabin, but we had a pleasant time with ours. The train ride offered stunning views of the countryside, and it was a relaxing way to travel from city to city. As for Prague, we didn't have an included guide, but we enjoyed exploring the city on our own. The architecture was stunning, and the city had a lively atmosphere. Overall, the Green City Trip was a great experience, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and eco-friendly way to travel between cities. It was quite comfortable (for a train), and the staff was friendly and helpful. I hope to take another trip with them in the future!
