Nice secluded garden where the unmarried women lived. The plants have signs. There is a small church/chapel on the grounds. There is a medetative atmosphere to the place where it is hard to believe you are in the center of Breda. If you are in breda take the time to hop in. It is free

While it is called a museum. It is really a place of sanctuary from the main city. The garden area is beautiful. Please remember people of faith still live here.

Was here during the carnival. But this magical place was quiet and peaceful. An interesting marvelous courtyard that tells the story of this community. Next to the miniature museum. Free admission

Very small yet calm place. I have lived here in the city for years and never once found it to be crowded. It is minutes away from the city center. Easy walking distance. If you happen to be in the big park then do please go in and have a look. It is right around the corner. A really a pleasant place to walk around in or to sit and read a book. In summer it looks delightful and in winter it looks like a small medieval wonder. As far as i am aware it is free of charge to walk around the garden. I go at least once a month and never had to pay to walk around.

Visiting Begijnhof was a wonderful experience and a definite highlight during my trip. This peaceful, picturesque enclave is steeped in history, dating back to the 13th century when it served as a community for religious women. The charming, well-preserved houses, cobblestone paths, and lovely gardens create a serene atmosphere that transports you back in time. The Begijnhof is home to a fascinating museum where you can learn about the lives of the beguines and the history of the community. The exhibits are thoughtfully curated and provide an excellent insight into the daily lives of these remarkable women. In addition to the main museum, there is also a unique doll and miniature museum, which is a real treat for visitors of all ages. The intricate detail and craftsmanship of the miniature scenes and dollhouses are truly impressive and provide a glimpse into various aspects of historical life. The church at Begijnhof is another must-see, with its stunning architecture and peaceful ambiance. It's the perfect place for quiet reflection and to admire the beautiful stained-glass windows and artwork inside. If you're looking for a break from the bustling city, Begijnhof is a tranquil oasis that offers a captivating blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. I highly recommend taking the time to visit this enchanting place, which will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on your heart.

Unexpected gem exploring this elegant city. This courtyard setting was reminiscent a bit of certain parts of old Boston ( historically it is vice versa of course) , but this place wins by a far stretch through its superb quality and authenticity.

It was a great idea to visit the museum. Perfect place to sit on the bench in front of the chapeland just relax. The museum is small but the entrance is not expensive

When I lived in Breda, I was in an abusive relationship and at rock bottom in all aspects of life. Going to this garden, walking through and attending a service at this little church, was one of the only bright points I remember from this time. A small moment of peace. Highly recommend <3
